Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Halifax – Dartmouth

We really loved everything about this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the kids loved the pool. The various food options available for breakfast (both hot and cold) were great. The hotel is very close to Halifax. It is a very quiet neighborhood away from the business of Halifax with a lot of shopping options very close to the hotel if needed. Hotel staff are friendly. The coffee was amazing!

Only one washer/dryer so there is a wait time if you need to do laundry

Breakfast good. Location convenient from where I was coming from but I wanted the Holiday Inn Express at the Airport, so I could park there for 4 days and just wake up and take the shuttle to the airport. I didn’t find out till I checked in that I was not at the airport. (I am not from Nova Scotia). It was past 9pm after a long trip. And I’d already paid for my room. I’d have to rush the next morning and reorganize for an early flight.

It meant that I didn’t have a shuttle to the airport for my early flight. I was rushing now at 7am not knowing where I was going/not familiar with the signage on the roadways, hoping to now having to go to Park’n’Fly and make their shuttle in order to arrive on time for check in for my flight.

Our kids loved the indoor pool with a slide and splash equipment. The beds were really comfy. Location is quiet, you have to drive to get anywhere, but Dartmouth crossing is close and it worked out well for us. Kids also loved the breakfast - cheese omelette and pancakes went down well. The options are a bit limited but it was fine for us.

The pool seemed to have very high chlorine levels which made our eyes smart and aggravated our son's excema. The a/c in the breakfast area and lobby was too cold for us! These wouldn't stop us returning

It was newer, secure stay that you needed a card for your floor only, liked this. Rooms were good size for a family and comfortable. Really enjoyed the pool area with splash part for kids, good for end day relaxation.

Out of a 6 day stay the cleaners only came once for a turn over of room, with kids it needed a little vacuuming and new towels, had to ask cleaner in hallway for some.

Easy check in. Lots of parking around. Super easy to reach. Perfect location to get around Dartmouth Crossing shopping area. The hotel is clean. The staff is friendly. We used the pool - the water was perfect in the evening. The pool area has a kids splash pad - so will be back with kids someday.

There is a fan in the pool room which is loud, so unable to fully relax at the end of the day. The cart to bring luggage to the room needs a bit of air in the tires, but I already told staff.

Splash pad was a hit with the kids, the breakfast was amazing with lots of variety. The pancake machine was cool. Rooms where clean and the bed was perfect for this mom with Abad back. The fireflies out side at night where really cool and so close to dartmouth crossing.

More selection at the hotel store there wasn't much to grab for our late night movie and I was disappointed there wasn't a lot on hand, just a lot of the same stuff. Also I went out to my car to grab something later at night and i noticed a make up brush on the carpet And then checking out at 11 AM it was still on the carpet so I picked it up and threw it in the garbage and just wondering how many staff members walk by it And didn't notice it and I'd say it's kind of hard to notice it was blue on a black carpet.

I enjoyed everything. Beds were excellent, breakfast was available and smelled delicious, the pool and the gym were open very good hours. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good place to stay. Close to places i wanted to go. Staff were all friendly and greeted us each time we went in or out. Little canteen with everything reasonably priced. They have handicapped parking and we were able to get one as the 3 of us are disabled.

They should allow extra towels and little soaps and lotions when there is 2 or more guests in a room.

We brought our small dog with us and all the staff were very kind and wanting to give her treats. The choice of firm and soft pillows was great as we normally bring our own but forgot this time. Room was quiet and comfortable.

I had forgotten something on our car and on the way out our room, I was a little slow at moving my hand from the door frame and the door closed so hard and fast that it closed on one of my fingers. I ended up with a severely bruised nail. My husband was able to get ice from the front desk to help with the swelling.

The pool was delightful, the breakfast was great. The staff were so accommodating. We will be staying here again.

There was an issue where my reservation didn't appear on the hotels system. I had a confirmation number from booking.com thankfully the hotel honored that. We got a king bed instead of 2 queens which was challenging for a family of 4. Thankfully we have little kids. It all worked out in the end but the hotel was fully booked and we got the last room. It could have been much worse.

The receptionist was great,and very helpful . I called in to ask if We could check in early (11:30am ) because my big two luggages would be blocked my back view while I was travelling around the city, she helped me by checking my booking room , making sure the room was clean and ready for me to check in. we were very happy with big and hot breakfast, from drink, food and dessert and staffs.

The window curtains is white and thin , so the bright sunlight went thru easily, it was hard to sleep .
