Garden South Park Inn

Location was great--I walked almost everywhere I wanted to go. It wasn't 2 or 3 minutes from anything, but it was 20 minutes or less from practically everything, and the two times I didn't feel like walking because of the distance or the weather, Uber was about $10. Breakfast was included, and while it wasn't exceptional, it was fine and made the room rate a good value. Toast/bagels/English muffins, peanut butter/jam/cream cheese, big bakery muffins, cereal, fruit salad, hard-boiled eggs, milk/juice/coffee/tea. Employees were friendly and responsive, both before and during my stay.

Bed wasn't super comfortable--the mattress was old I think, but nothing terrible. I still slept pretty well. Sometimes you do have to wait a bit for a breakfast table. This is a fairly small inn and there aren't enough tables if a lot of guests come down for breakfast at the same time.

Very attractive, well maintained property that just got a recent makeover (exterior and exterior). Very good location in the heart of downtown Halifax and walkable to everything. the Inn itself & our room was spotlessly clean & the staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall an excellent value.

Our only complaint was that the noise factor in the building doesn’t seem to be very good. The fellow guests were all respectful & quiet and the neighborhood was quiet (considering it’s downtown & across from a hospital), but the walls seemed to not be very thick with no noise barrier. Our room was right next door to the office/reception and we could hear every little move from the guy working in there all night. Probably wouldnt be a problem anywhere else in the inn but try to avoid room 201 (that’s the room right next to the office).

Location and aesthetics were impressive. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. Access to TV was a bonus. The computer room was also a good place to read while my partner slept in. Our final stay we were in a room with a jacuzzi and that was a nice surprise.

Continental breakfast lacked variety. There was only one tea choice and fruit was not always available. In room coffee was pretty horrible tasting. Lack of parking could have been an issue during the week. Luckily, we stayed on the weekend and were able to park on the street.

Staff incredibly helpful. Stored my suitcase that was dropped off there. Let me check in a bit early as the room was ready. Helped pull together a breakfast that I could put in room refrigerator for the next day, as they were not open as early as I was leaving.

I got a room in the back, near the parking lot. Initially, I was concerned that I would be woken all night long, as the back door, slammed shut quite loudly. Fortunately, things quieted down quite early and it was not a problem.

Yes a very friendly family they got me a kettle and a 2 pin adapter for my mobile I was delighted with them I would definitely stay there again and a lovely area .

I was on the ground floor so I had no view whatsoever and other people slamming doors I cannot figure out why people do it there's no need for it at all but towards the end of my trip so there we're people slamming doors .

This lovely charming Inn was located within a short (10 min) walk to the Via Rail Station and right next to the Holy Cross Cemetery. Our flight was quite delayed, but I was able to stay in contact with the innkeeper who assured us he would still be around to let us in. This Inn is an old charmer that has been very well maintained. There was a great breakfast provided, with lots of food choices. We would definitely stay there again.

Great location for downtown shops, bars restaurants. Clean, comfortable room in historic building. Pleasant breakfast room with continental breakfast included in room rate. Staff helpful and some nice touches. Business lounge available with computers if required.

Room next to reception so some noise from guests coming and going. Curtains in room need attention as people walking by can look into room.

I enjoyed breakfast which included cold cereal, orange juice, yogurt, coffee, toast. Your location is superb as I could visit Smitty's, Pete's, Bookmark and Atlantic News all on foot. And Le Bistro is one of my favourite restaurants - thanks for the 10% deal! You are also close to St. Andrew's United Church where I sang with Dalhousie Collegio Cantorum's performance of Mozart's Requiem on March 27.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good and we were lucky to get paid parking. Location was away from the noise but close enough to walk and some excellent local food too. Thank you for allowing us to use the room earlier. Overall a great stay.

I would like to say none because it is all part of the charm, but please consider updating the carpet in the future or provide slippers.

Great price for location (uptown!). Great location! Very pleasant and accommodating greeting. Clean and tidy room w private bathroom. Very relaxing pace set by our host. Easy and accessible breakfast gig. Lots of coffee too! Thanks.

I had to use offsite parking, which worked fine, I suppose, but not as convenient as would have liked. Pillows kinda sucked, so I didn’t sleep very well.
