Wingate by Wyndham Calgary Airport

They were very helpful when my friend arrived earlier than I, and worked with me to make arrangements so that she can check in. Staff was friendly and helpful: we left before breakfast was served, yet they still offered coffee and fruit to go. I appreciated the free parking and swimming pool. The free shuttle was very useful for my friend who traveled from/to US. Thank you!

I did not foresee that the hotel does not have a restaurant. I assumed that all hotels do, hence did not include this criteria when searching for the hotel. My bad, not theirs. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but you can find restaurants in other hotels near by. Plan accordingly.

We rented this room for the proximity to the airport. We had a 2 room suite with table and chairs and mini kitchen area. There was an A/C unit in each room. The beds were comfortable and the curtains kept the room dark. The rooms were quiet with no sound of the nearby airport. The breakfast was good with eggs, sausage links and even pancakes. After staying in Banff and Jasper the cost of this room was about half the amount. There was also a free shuttle to the airport which we did not need.

We have no complaints. You would only want to stay here if you are flying out. There isn't anything nearby.

This hotel is a really good option to explore Calgary and surrounding. The staff is very kind and helpfull. The breakfast is the quick start of the day. Rooms are clean and specious.. The bathroom was clean and had a nice shower.. The room had a free of charge safe to store your personal belongings. The airport shuttle is easy to arrange and very usefull.

The location of the hotel near the airport is great. It's located at an industrial area in a line up of three hotels. We had a little disturbence by the airtraffic, The closest public transport option are the bus stops at the Airport or at Harvest Hills both 2.5km away. Line 300 brings you downtown Calgaryand passes these hotels. A busstop close to these hotels would be a great and cheap option to explore and visit Calgary.

The hotel was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the room had air conditioning to control the temperature. The rooms were quite large and the shower was quite good- the complimentary toiletries were good if you had forgotten something (but not top standard). There were various options for breakfast, including a pancake maker, yogurts, and savoury elements. However, there wasn't very much for dairy-free people and there weren't any labels to indicate whether items like the eggs had milk in them etc. There was little/ not anything for vegans.

On the hotel's website (and on booking.com) it said the shuttle bus runs every half an hour. However, the website and booking.com fail to mention that you need to book it in advance by ringing the hotel. It still does run every half an hour, but our bus just drove right past the arrivals lounge and didn't even stop (which is very pointless to even bother sending the shuttle?). When we rang the hotel, the staff were quite rude and said that we were in the wrong place - we explained where we were and it turned out we were in the right place. The staff member just hung up on me and we managed to get the next shuttle.

I liked how we could not hear much noise outside our executive king room. The gym was good, service was great. I loved the fresh water at the front desk and the cookies available for free throughout the day.

The breakfast was not the greatest. Fruit ( bananas) were super green, the oatmeal had way too much milk in it, I get there could have been more options like bacon, muffins, . The eggs were hard and watery, the sausage also tasted watery. The best part of breakfast was the packets of oatmeal o could make on my own. We ended up eating breakfast at the casino. Much more enjoyable.

Staff of Wingate is very friendly and helpful! They provided my parents extra blanket at night per their requests. On the day we were leaving, my mom forgot to pack the tubing of her CPAP machine. The staff of Wingate notified us immediately after they caught this and brought us back to hotel by their airport shuttle (we have already returned our rental car). With their help, we were able to catch our flight on time with my mom still being able to use her CPAP machine. Great help! In addition, Wingate offered hot drinking water and coffee at lobby all day long.

Rooms were clean and comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was very good. Very nice hotel and conveniently located for the airport.

Courtesy transport from the airport to the hotel was a disaster. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the bus to turn up at the international terminal (3 June 2023) despite us phoning 3 times and each time being told it would be there within 15 minutes. It eventually turned up at 11pm. When it did arrive the driver rather curtly told us it had been a busy night at the domestic terminal so there had been no room on the bus for the international arrivals (all other hotel shuttles were arriving regularly)! Couldn’t the hotel have alternated the pick-ups, or was it just that the driver was not communicating with the hotel front desk about the problem, hence them keep saying it would be there in 15 minutes?

The room was lovely! The bathroom was huge and the bed comfortable. It was clean and pretty quiet.

The checkin took too long although the staff was super friendly. Not sure why we had to fill in a form when all of the info we gave was already given at booking. Some of the fitness equipment wasn’t working so we couldn’t do our workouts together. Breakfast was adequate. Would have liked more variety of fruit. Only had bananas that were entirely too green.Even though I don’t like ripe bananas at all these were even too green for me.

I was really impressed by the breakfast with no plastic dishes. Real plates, forks, cups etc… only plastic around was the butter and jam containers. Good job. The environment thanks you.

Your shuttle. It was disgustingly filthy inside and out. I understand the freeze thaw cycle in Calgary but was unacceptable. You couldn’t get 3 feet from that thing without getting dirty, even the seats were dirty. Imagine if you’re wearing a suit. Plus it really leaves a bad impression about your company. That’s the first and last thing a client sees. Not good advertising for your brand.

Poor location,heavy road construction. $50. Charge for pet which wasn’t mentioned when booked online. Called to asked me to change rooms after I was settled in and unpacked because dogs weren’t allowed on fourth floor. I refused to move and manager came to my room to explain but I assured her my dog would not be a problem and she “allowed” me to stay. This was unacceptable since the receptionist whom I could barely understand knew I had a dog and booked me into the fourth floor anyway.
