Dreamcatcher Beach-Side Apartments

I had an excellent stay that I even extended with a 3rd night. For the price you get SO MUCH SPACE, feels like having a real place! Kichen utensils are all generously provided, even some coffee/tea/oil/basic spices and there is a great compendium proposing you activites and information about surrounding area. Towels and bathroom products are of high quality. The garden is super charming with many beautiful flowers that you can see are taken good care of, the pool is super nice too. There is a barbecue. Had only shortly contact with the owner, but seems to be a very kind person. The beach is 3 minutes walk awway, there is a nice and absolutely not disturbing pub across the road.

One cockroach ran inside from the terrace, so be aware to close the terrace door and dont leave food outside. But I guess its common sense in the tropical climate. If you dont have a car, its kindof long until downtown Port Douglas, but this region is anyway pretty much car-based.

Extremely impressed with apartment. Large apartment with balcony. Loved sitting outside at night listening to the fruit bats and enjoying cool air. Large smart tv in lounge. Basic cooking facilities with large fridge.Loved the bright colour schemes in room. Beautiful pool area. Restaurant and pub across road serve great food as does fish and chip shop 10 min walk away. It is out of town area but shuttle buses stop out front.. also means area is very quiet which we enjoy. 4 mile Beach is literally 2 min walk away.. check out the sun rise. Air-conditioning and overhead fans kept us cool and relaxed. Parking round back for cars. Owner is wonderful even allowing us early entry as plane was in at 10am. He will do anything for you just ask. Sadly my husband was suffering terminal cancer and died shortly after our return to Adelaide but I will def be returning here soon. I felt very safe staying here.

Nothing... we were 💯% happy

I'm not very good at English. The staff at the apartment were very nice. It was helpful to be able to make reservations for sightseeing shuttle buses over the phone (I had to tell them where to board and get off before getting on) and to reserve and confirm optional tours. Due to the flight departure time, I was allowed to stay for free for 4 hours and 30 minutes from check-out time. The staff made our trip to Port Douglas (a lovely city) so enjoyable, thank you.

The room was on the first floor, which was very convenient, but when you opened the curtains, you could see inside the room! I didn't have the courage to open it during my stay.

Located out of the main centre in a quiet residential area. Quite secluded, private and clean units, with a small well kept swimming pool set amongst the palms in the middle of the units. Well laid out unit. A local pub across the road, which had a really nice atmosphere. Next to the pub was a restaurant - which we didn't get around to trying - but was open for breakfast if you didn't want to prepare your own. A few steps down the side street found the beautiful beach. A short drive found the town tourist centre with many shops and restaurants/supermarket and tourist attractions. Loved the peace and quiet of this stay - very relaxing.

The unit could have done with a little maintenance - some areas inside needed a touch up with paint. It would have been nice to have had a spare toilet roll and spare toiletries (soap/shampoo). Glasses in kitchen could have done with an upgrade.

Super location only steps from 4 mile beach, awesome staff (Meghan and John). Super helpful at all times. Quiet location away from Port Douglas city proper and all the other hotels etc. Still very easily accesible by local shuttle and for tour pick-ups. Awesome accommodation that felt cheerful, comfortable, quiet, clean and very spacious. Close to wildlife Habitat and IGA. Pub across the street was fun and local.

I found the restaurant across the street "Kai" to be an expensive only option when getting there in the evening. Nothing to do with the accommodation and Meghan was very helpful to advise me to go there before they closed.

This place is the best location, only a short walk to four mile Beach which is just magnificent. The owner and staff were amazing, making me feel right at home. I was delighted to find out that 1 of the rooms is pet friendly so I'll definitely be bringing my dogs next time. So quiet and relaxing, pub across the road, what more could u want!!? And only a short drive or bike ride into Port douglas to do shopping and whatever other touristy things. I can't wait to visit again. Thankyou so much for being a part of my journey. Will be recommending to everyone I know.

Absolutely nothing, cannot think of 1 thing..

Room was clean, kitchen had adequate utensils etc for cooking. Bathroom was spotless. We had the back apartment which was very quiet. 2 minute walk to beach. We had very minimal contact with reception, however, manager was pleasant to deal with. Apartment is about 10mins drive from main centre which is why we chose it. Really no food outlets, one cafe, bar (which doesn't serve food) and a pizza takeaway so for eating out best to drive into town.

Bed was a bit bouncy for my liking but probably would suit others. Pool is a bit smaller than expected.

We had a fantastic stay here at Dreamcatcher. The apartment was spacious, clean and lovely. Nice and private too. We also had a space for our car and John gave us some fantastic recommendations for trips in the area. The beach was just down the road and there was a pub and lovely restaurant just across the way. It was about a ten min drive from the centre but there are shuttles running around Port Douglas as an alternative to get around. Would highly recommend this as a get away, will hopefully have a chance to be back!

The architecture of the apartments was exotic and great fun. The quality of the fittings, TV , bathroom and bed were all of the highest quality. There are 12 apartments located only some 100 metres from the four mile beach and some 50 metres from a tavern and nearby restaurant with breakfast and coffee all day plus lunch and dinner. (closed Mondays). The cost is modest by Port Douglas standards. The apartments are about 4 K from the centre of town. This is not a problem if you have a vehicle. A good supermarket is about 1.5 K away. The owner manager John is very friendly and helpful

We received a warm welcome to Dreamcatcher from John, and were able to check into our room early. The room was spacious and well appointed. The location was also great, across the road from the pub. It's a bit of a distance from town, but with the excellent on-demand shuttle service this was not a problem at all. We got a 4-day pass for our stay and definitely got good value out of it and appreciated it greatly. During our stay, we were left to ourselves, but knew we could contact John if we needed anything.
