The Capitol Apartments

The lovely people at this holiday let saved my skin! I had a fire at a previous hotel and had to find accommodation at very short notice (a few hours) for myself and three children - all of whom were sick with a chest infection and horrific jet lag after landing from the UK. The team here held a room for me and managed to find me a studio with a sofa bed as a temporary solution, and then find me a 2 bed apartment for the following day for the remainder of my stay. The location is superb. A short walk from the trendy West End with all its shops and people watching, and across the river from the city. The rooms are big, clean, new, have great cooking and entertainment. the sheets were changed every few days and the room cleaned properly - which you don’t get in a regular self catered apartment. this meant the mum had a break from the daily chores a bit too! The kids loved staying here and the car park and lift made entry and exit safe and easy with them. I would say good value for money.

No vacuum to fix small spills - with kids that’s a nuisance.

Great place for a quick stay in Brisbane. It's 3 blocks away from the famouse Lune bakery and Mixue. It's about 20 mins walk to South Bank park. Overall a great accomodation. Plenty of space for living room and dining area. There were about 4 dining/study tables and plenty of chairs in the accomodation, plenty of seating in the living room and more table/chairs in the outdoor area.

We got the 3rd floor which is the same level as the train track. We really weren't expecting it. The people on the train can literally see through our window so we had to make sure we keep them shut at all time. We booked the 2 bedrooms property. The master has an ensuite with full glass doors, so you can literally see the person using the toilet/shower from the bed. Funniest thing though, the second bathroom is next to the master while the 2nd bedroom is all the way on the other side of the apartment, so whoever stays in the 2nd bedroom need to walk through the tv living room, the kitchen and the dining area to go to the bathroom.

I have great admiration for the staff who work reception in particular young Betty who took great care of us. When I made my booking I accidentally booked The studio room thinking this was a one bedroom apartment. With a quick inquiry to Betty she was able to assist me in upgrading to a two bedroom apartment which suited my needs much better and made a very memorable stay. Regardless of him was on reception they were always there to say good morning or good afternoon when you entered in to the foyer

It’s disappointing to see there are not a lot of carparks for your guests. it would be great to have an option to perhaps pay an extra couple of dollars to secure up car park during your stay. The main bathroom interior door has vomit stains on it, it would be great if someone could have cleaned this prior to my checking. I will then that then this extremely pleased

Beds were comfy so of course that's always a plus. Didn't spend all that much time in the room, because we walked everywhere, so fairly good location.

Was a bit of damage on the wall behind tv, obviously things changed with that setup there. And the aircons in the bedrooms were aimed directly at the head of the beds - kinda guaranteeing anybody to get sick if it's too hot to have the aircon off all night. The showers both need a really good bleaching too, just a little dirty feeling

Great space with all you need in an excellent location. Lifts work well. Well presented and things mostly well kept.

Parking is limited but we were lucky ! We have a large 4x4 and its very hard to turn around and even drive down to the car park but luckily there were empty (though reserved) spaces for us to turn around in. It took us 2 goes to actually just drive around the bend (not in a car park). There was some minor wear n tear and the air con didnt really work, just made a noise. We tried a few different functions. Bed was prob a touch firm for what we like but was still comfortable enough. Restaurant down stairs is now a bar or something?

Location is great, within walking distance to convention centre, museums, south bank. Surrounded by so many choices of great dining options. Complimentary car park is really appreciated, the staff were lovely and let me check in at lunch time so that I could attend my conference. The room is very spacious.

The bed was tooo soft. Would have given better stars if the bed was firmer/nicer. WiFi provided was extremely slow, but it was not an issue for us.

We needed a comfortable place to stay for a few nights following my discharge from Mater Private Hospital in Brisbane. The Capitol Apartments were a great choice as they had everything we needed to rest and recharge in peace. The staff were also accommodating, allowing us to check-in early. The location is close to the Mater Hospital but would also suit those visiting Brisbane for leisure as the apartments are right next to Southbank.

Unfortunately, it was a public holiday weekend when we stayed, and reception was only open on the first day of our arrival. This made it challenging to try and arrange a late check out once we realised our flight home would not be until late afternoon.

The rooms are nicely presented and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. The property is well located and is just a short walk from the city, Southbank and sporting venues. The rooms are very well soundproofed - you can’t hear a thing with the windows closed.

The room smelt “funky”, like it needed a good airing. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to get fresh air in. Bathrooms didn’t have fans to remove any smells, so they just stay. We did open the balcony up in an attempt to get some fresh air, but the noise of the train line made the room noisy. Air- conditioners in bedrooms are noisy and sprayed water when starting g up.

I was upgraded into a one bedroom, things like that never happen for me so it was a delightful surprise! It was a great room, tidy, good facilities and convenient location.

My only gripe was that they had electricians in during my stay but it’s not a huge deal because it’s refreshing that they’re obviously maintaining/improving the property.

Everything was clean, tidy & mostly in good condition. Handy to everthing we wanted to go to.

The queen size bed had double bed sheet on it, that didn't even cover the matress. Top sheet was like a single sheet put sideways accross the bed Mattress hasn't been turned regularly & had a body sized channel in the middle. But was ok. The dish washer has lost its rinse aid cap & the washing powder door doesn't open.
