Great Southern Hotel Brisbane

The location is great, right in the city. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The beds were uncomfortable, and the air-conditioning was noisy. I didn't like changes with the electronic check-in/check-out kiosk at all. Very frustrating and took longer to check-in than normal and still needed the reception staff's help through the whole process. I think it's very impersonable and gives a negative experience at the hotel. I would rather be greeted with real people with a smile, a much better experience. Probably won't go back if they keep it.

Location- super central Staff - very kind, given availability they even gave us a better room with an amazing view on the river and a small jacuzzi. Room - spacious and clean Great value - money Parking - despite the fact it was a bit tiny it was comfortable and we were more than happy with the solution

Décor is a bit outdated, could be renovated. Mirrors in the room were stained, jacuzzi was not working perfectly but since we got it within the upgrade all good ;) Laundry room was a bit dirty with very old machinery. If I was not in need of doing the laundry I would have not done it. Check in - communication was not great, online they told us that early check in could have been possible maybe at 9 upon availability. once we arrived there to at least leave the luggage (very early morning) they said that maybe we could have done it at 11 -upon availability. All good as we planned a full day activity, nevertheless would have been nicer to have a consistent communication.

We choose this hotel because it is close to a concert we went to at Riverstage. Charlotte Street around the corner has some great restaurants. Southbank is an easy walk and there is a good view of a couple of bridges all lit up at night that go over the river. The reception staff were all helpful and lovely. The room has black out curtains and a fridge which we appreciate. After checking out they allowed us to leave our car in the underground carpark while we continued to walk the streets.

It didn't effect us, but if you have a big car the underground carpark might be a bit tricky to get around bends.

This motel didn't have great reviews online, but it was clean and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay here. It's in a great location. Will stay here again.

The double bed was two single beds together which we didn't mind but there was a join in the middle that you can feel. I have looked to stay here again and there's some listing that state it will be two singles so it was probably mentioned but some people wouldn't like that. Beds were comfy.

We are regulars at The Great Southern…never disappoints. The spa room was great value for money…big enough to have a party in (almost). What a classically elegant walk-up spa it is! The reception staff were welcoming & accommodating. The bed was v comfy. The location was terrific…so central to Queen St & everything else in the CBD. Had a BRILL stay. Thanks

A discount for parking for regular clients would be nice…otherwise, no complaints!

Excellent location, able to walk everywhere to locations of interest, didn't use car hardly . Were unable to check in early at 11am as room was not ready but when we asked if we could park car , staff was fine and very obliging, we were very pleased. Asked for 2 extra blankets, 2 pillows and tea and coffee, with no problem from staff

Cost of parking at $25 a night is expensive, other hotels charge from $15 for example mantra on surfers Paradise, or free of charge like portobello by the sea in Colundra , you could definitely consider reducing price to at least $15-$20 per night

Location was handy and close to shops etc walking distance to alot. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Restaurant for breakfast services very nice and service was quick.

No designated smoking areas just had to stand on the street where there wasn't any ashtrays or bins. We prefer to not smoke in public, as we try to be considerate of other people but also don't smoke inside.

Fantastic location stroll around the corner to Brisbane CBD Shops & Restaurants or stroll across the bridge right to QPAC & South Bank. Easy access to drive in and to vacate. Good Parking available.. Nice River View across to Sth Bank from our room

Our Room was a bit dated this time.

Staff were professional and very friendly. Room was good spa room. A little noise from new casino going up across the road but not enough to disturb sleep. Bed was very firm but ok for a night or 2. Location excellent 3 min walk to Queen St mall.

Not much only the bed being very firm. I'm sure if l ask they would have accommodated me to a different room with a softer bed but fine.

the price and location are great and affordable. the staff friendly and modern facilities . I’ve got the app now and will stay with great southern hotel as long as it stays affordable . breakfast is also good value .

nothing at all except with the breakfast baked beans would have been good in replacement of hash browns or as an alternative .
