Best Western Blackbutt Inn

Possibly the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Modern room and ensuite. Super quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly, thorough and helpful. The pub restaraunt downstairs was reasonably proced and the dinner and breakfast were outstanding. Again the pub staff were very friendly and welcoming. It far exceeded my expectations. I was a bit trepidatious about staying in a "pub" accomodation as a solo female traveller but I honestly felt very safe and secure. Well done guys! I will absolutely stay again if I am.ever passing through Newcastle again.

Reception staff were brilliant, explained and showed us the car parking area, Took us up to our room, explained keys, lifts etc, showed us restaurant and bar areas and where to have breakfast the next morning. Restaurant staff were great, dinner was good and very tasty, when we asked about the early room service for breakfast as my husband had to fast from 7:30am they made sure we had breakfast early. Excellent and friendly service from everyone at the Blackbutt Inn. We'd stay there again.

There was a band on in the pub downstairs Saturday evening which was pretty loud in the room, but it was all over by 11.30pm so not too bad. On the flip side it was a shame the pub closed early Sunday evening as we tried to grab a drink just before 9pm but was closing as too quiet.

For my sleep, it was satisfactory "peaceful and comfy". I required a safe place to sleep and somewhere easy to access so the location was perfect. Bathroom was fine. cleanliness was exceptional. The food was delicious.. I went back for seconds- CHICKEN SNITTY WITH CHIPS AND VEGIES :) Schooners of New hit the spot. The Bar and Tab area was great and had plenty of room to hang out. locals/ People were friendly in the bar area and gaming rooms where I spent most of my time. The elevator was very helpful.

I have no dislikes. I travelled solo and it met my expectations

The room was very clean, uncluttered. The room is fairly well soundproofed so you don't hear much of the music of bands downstairs. A lift and stairwell up to the rooms are available, the pub was nice. Didn't try the restaurant but it seemed busy (busy in a good way). The checking in process is at the post office/ newsagent connected to the pub on the ground level. All the staff at the pub and post office/newsagent/check-in were very nice and helpful. Also a short car ride to Blackbutt park which I recommend.

It was so nice. We arrived tired after a long trip and checked in with Karen. The best and kindest reception desk person we have ever encountered. She took our big bags to our room, gave us fresh milk and showed us around. Then she took me to the restaurant and booked us in so we wouldn’t miss out (as it was really busy.) So very helpful! Top ratings for Karen! And the room was lovely.

Breakfast was lovely. Kindness and courtesy of staff was outstanding.

Rooms were great but could have been cleaned a bit better but forgiveable as I know staffing issues are a problem everywhere.

Staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. They changed our room without us even ask8ng because they were concerned the noise from the live music would disturb us. This our 3rd time staying here when we co.e to visit my daughter at uni and it won't be the last.

I do think it is a little overpriced

We have never stayed at a place that had everything. The staff were the absolute best - friendliest, helpful and so efficient, cleanest place we have ever been in, food was amazingly good, rooms were AAA+++. We will never stay anywhere else but here, in the future. Location and surrounding services 2nd to none.

Fantastic staff, friendly service and a great breakfast in the hotel cafe. Good location, depending on your needs, and much better quality than I expected for 'pub' accommodation.

The secure parking was a bit awkward, and would be annoying if by chance you had to get out before 'open hours' again.
