Peppers Gallery Hotel

Our room was, large, comfortable, clean and very quiet. The bed was comfortable. The location is excellent, close to the centre of town as well as to the university. Staff were friendly.. Breakfast was pretty good. The buffet selection was not huge, but it was varied and of high quality. The breakfast plan we were on included one cooked item as well as the cold buffet.

Parking is not free. Breakfast was quite expensive for what it was. And the accommodation was quite expensive. But Canberra is an expensive town, so you have to expect that. Overall we were very pleased with the accommodation and service.

Location was excellent. The room was well appointed. Great bed.

I have been reluctant to comment on our stay. The shower flooded the bathroom floor right to the door every day. We requested a supply of towels to keep the flooding in check. For 1-2 nights this might have been acceptable, but we were staying 7 nights. I did mention it as we were checking-out, only to be told all the rooms have that issue. I don't think so.

The room and bed were very comfortable. I like the precinct and the outdoor area - much nicer than a corporate type of hotel. I also like the old Canberra buildings. Staff were lovely and very accommodating.

I would like to have been able to open my window for some fresh air. The bathroom was clean but a little tired and worn. And the silly little espresso coffee cups were annoying - you can't make a cup of tea or a normal cup of coffee in them.

lovely room and decor (I loved the velvet curtains and ceiling wallpaper) quiet and peaceful comfortable bed and the doona was not too heavy/hot. (sheets are good!) ideal location close to Uni and the Lake. adaptive reuse of the old building, natural light/window in the bathroom professional, friendly, helpful staff being able to turn off the a/c at night

would be good to: - be able to open windows - have peppermint tea bags in the room

The bedroom and bathroom is very clean. Wallpaper and furniture designs are very pleasant and artistic. The staffs are super friendly and helpful. It's located quite central and has free street parking on weekends.

The bed is very uncomfortable. It's too soft springy, when one person move even a little bit, the whole bed shake. Some amenities like toothbrush and 2nd pair of slippers need to be requested at receptionist.

The location is fantastic, especially if your trip has anything to do with ANU. The room was very comfortable and spacious, and I appreciated the selection of teas and Nespresso coffee. The bar, restaurant, and Parlour cafe/diner attached to the hotel were convenient and made tasty fare at a reasonable price. I particularly liked the access to a gym from 7am to 10pm. The staff were courteous, good humoured, and always helpful.

The bathroom had some hairs that were not mine in it, but it was otherwise spotless. The rooms felt slightly overpriced, but I haven’t done a lot of travelling in Australia in recent years, so I can’t really judge accurately.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Fireplace is a nice touch on arrival. Tea and coffee facilities welcome on arrival. Pleasant view to courtyard outside. Wallpaper on ceiling a nice feature. Private. Comfy bed!😀

Dirty handprint on bathroom wall not good. Squeaky floorboards near tea and coffee facilities very annoying. Ancient telephone had sticky handset and was grubby. No response from housekeeping on several occasions. No soap dish. Poor task lighting in bathroom for applying makeup.🤔

The food served at the bar was very good and the atmosphere there was welcoming, intimate and cosy. The lighting in the bar area was just right.

I was staying in Room 111 which is at ground level. Outside the room in the garden beds there was a lot of rubbish. This was a disappointing discovery and one I couldnt avoid if the curtains were open. It needs to be addressed on a daily basis.

This hotel is fantastic! The location was central, the staff were exceptional, truly exceptional. Their level of service went above and beyond! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. It was just so lovely to be greeted so warmly and the staff really wanted to know where you had come from, the purpose of your visit, etc - but it was genuine. We booked a 1 bed apartment which was in another part of the hotel complex. Outside, down some stairs and across a quiet road, that was ok. The room was just beautiful, very well furnished, the bed, wow, so comfy. It was spacious without being too big and suited our 3 night stay perfectly. The breakfast each morning was great, they remembered our coffee order every day which was such a delightful surprise. We also had a couple of cocktails in their small but quaint bar and also had dinner there one night which, again, was lovely. All in all, a wonderful experience and we would definitely highly recommend this hotel to all friends and family. We would definitely book this again, a 1 bed apartment is the way to go!

Absolutely nothing we disliked about it!!!

Hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and accomodating. Enjoyed the jazz feel of the rooms.

The beds were a bit too soft for my preference. The restaurant staff for breakfast also advised that breakfast was closed half hour earlier than front office staff - that miscommunication needs to be looked at. We had been told breakfast closed at 10:30am and arrived at 10:05am to be told breakfast was closed. Other guests then confirmed they were also told breakfast was closing at 10:30 by the front desk before the waitress decided to serve us.
