Ocean Reef Resort

We loved just about everything! We loved that there were options for the kids and enough hot tubs that we never had an issue getting in. We loved that there was almost always someone around if we needed something. I’ve never realized how nice it is to have access to a towel hut. Our cleaning lady was very nice.

The only thing that we really didn’t like was that there wasn’t any cook wear in the room besides a cookie sheet, one spatula, and one big spoon. We also didn’t like the sofa bed. It was AWFUL. The mattress way too thin. It would have been even better if the breakfast buffet were included in the stay even if offered as a package when booking.

When pushing cart to room in lobby and shortly after check in.Two expensive hats were stolen from cart and Management would not review security footage of incident. I asked for 3 days. Not a very good way to start our stay. Suspects were teenage boys. There were 12 to 15 boys around us and loading cart and the hats were on top of our belongings. That did not not sit well with me or my companion. One can not be replaced. I would have liked to put footage on social media. This was the 2nd time at this establishment that I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I won't recommend and I will not be back.

Multiple (though minor) complaints/issues, but overall, the stay was pleasant, the hotel was well maintained, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was very nice and helpful. The view was beautiful, and the location was excellent for being near, but not in the throng of local events and attractions. Room was 2 queens and was good sized for the 2 of us, but probably on the small side for 4 guests. We loved the outdoor seating areas, which doubled as overflow pool seating with lounge chairs for sunning outside the pool area.

The ice machine on our floor only worked 1 of the 8 days we were there, pool was overcrowded and "claiming seats" without being present was allowed despite signage that unattended items would be removed after 30 minutes. Daily towels, but not washcloths. Coffee spillage from previous guest inside dresser drawer. Mattresses not in anti-bedbug bags. On-site breakfast was mediocre with a long wait in a crowded cramped hallway area.

I was very skeptical because of all the bad reviews on this hotel but we loved it. Things to certainly be aware of are bellow 1. The parking is indeed horrible the reviews are correct about that, however they have a parking deck across the road. 2. Be prepared to pay $100 safety deposit, witch has to be on a card not cash we had to go to our bank at 10pm because they would not take cash. 3. If you’re going on a busy holiday be prepared to not have any seating while at the pool. People go early in the morning to put towels on chairs just so they can come back hours later to them. Not fair at all the resort should seriously do something about that. Other than that we absolutely loved this resort and plan on coming back. The drinks at the bar we’re delicious and the food was good too. Oh also the elevators get crowded too and you have to wait for one that’s not so crowded.

Parking, crowdedness

beach and ocean view and access to the beach were great . in house meals available and breakfast was wonderful bed was very comfortable and clean all appliances worked and were adequate Elevators were available and for the traffic great The view of the city was good also THe access to shopping and food services and grocery was good. I thought the bedding seemed relatively new and in good shape The air conditioning was above average and worked great

smokers nearby blew smoke everywhere and were inconsiderate of no smoking rules which were not enforced evidently. the room could have been a little cleaner but was ok for late in the season. wish more handicap aids were available such as more parking and loading areas.

We stayed on the eleventh floor facing the ocean. The hotel was easy to get around, the amenities were great and we loved the fact that we could lounge on the property and grab food and drinks from Banana Boat. We used Myrtle Beach as a rest stop on our travels back home (Massachusetts) from our trip to Florida! We loved the atmosphere and location so much that we’ve decided to plan our 3rd anniversary down here in Jan. ‘24!

Nothing! The hotel was incredible, the location is very central and convenient, yet far enough away from the boardwalk that you don’t have to deal with the traffic!!

oceanfront room was a bit dated

I stayed in March and brought my mother in law. I wanted to stay again with my hubby. Everyone was nice. I actually liked being on 14th floor. I would like to be able to see what floor you are getting for the price when making reservations

We had to call the front desk at almost 1 am because the group on the 12th floor below.us was extremely loud partying and hollering and had radio rap music up so loud that walls and glass door was rattling.. it went on starting early the day before and got louder and louder. We also had to notify fro t desk about railing bolts were coming out and the toilet was running non stop. Our room on 14th floor wasnt as nice ad 8th floor

For the most part, everything was fantastic. However, the first night was a disaster.

The first night we noticed that the sleeper sofa, which we were expecting the kids to sleep on, was broken and nasty, and could not be used. I called the front desk and they informed me that they couldn’t replace it, but they would see about switching us to another room, the next day. Obviously, we couldn’t completely unpack, since we were having to move. We had to have the kids sleep with adults that night. The next day they sent someone who replaced the sleeper unit in the sofa, so we stayed in the same room. We feel like we should be compensated for that first night’s inconvenience.

The room was very clean, loved the ocean view. Facilities were clean and available. I loved my clean up person (Maxine) who was very polite and did an excellent job. She made us feel like we knew each other for years.

I was glad to to be there for the 4th of July Holiday, and enjoyed the fireworks put on by the resort. However we lost plenty of sleep due to there was no enforcement of your policy of tenets using fireworks well after midnight. I received your text about no personal fireworks are allowed. I just didn’t see or hear anyone attempting to find the people responsible.
