Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kansas City Airport, an IHG Hotel

The breakfast was wonderful.

They asked for a $100 payment for any damages and I was told that would be returned to me within 3 to 5 days after the visit. I still haven't received the money back. I called the hotel again and was now told up to 20 days, which seems like a ridiculous amount of time to get it back. I am still working on getting my money. I was also disappointed that the hot tub was removed. I did book this hotel based on reviews from people stating it was nice to have the hot tub, but was disappointed it was gone.

The pool was still open, which was nice. It required a card to use electricity in the room which I think is very environmentally sound of them. The staff was very kind and the bed was super comfy!!

Due to COVID-19 the "Breakfast" they served was definitely subpar, and there was no towels available at the pool. On their site it said they still had a hot tub, but in reality they hadn't had one since 2018.

I liked the ease of booking and check out. The room was clean and in good repair although it looked a little worn.

There was only one person at the front desk and a line all the way to the door. It took too long to check in. They could have done a much better job of anticipating the need for shuttles. I wasn't able to take advantage of parking because the shuttle was full and another wasn't due for 30 minutes. Making this information available at check in and finding out who needed a shuttle and when would have resolved this.

I didn't eat the breakfast myself but my wife did enjoy what she had. There we a few items not on the buffet because of shortages and we do not hold them personally responsible for that.

A couple of house keeping things on the outside of the building is my only complaint. When I pulled the shades back from the window and looked downward I could see the fenced in area around the HVAC/Utility area and it was a little messy. Parking lot area was a little tight in some areas but really this is just a little nick picky and was no real issue.

Breakfast was great. Lots of variety. Location was near good food selection, shopping, etc. Room size was larger than expected. Bathroom had an exceptional amount of counter space. Mini fridge was helpful. Overall, great experience!

First room had significant cigarette smell. Staff immediately transferred us to another room, which was great - smelled and was clean. TV guide should be made available.

Room and beds were comfortable; all amenities worked as they should. Seems to be a fairly new property. Had a nice breakfast set-up.

For rate paid, I was expecting to be able to use the complimentary airport shuttle service; however, when I inquired about riding the 8AM shuttle to the airport (several minutes before 8AM), I was informed it had already left and would be another 30 minutes before the next trip. Not knowing how long security wait times would be at the airport before my flight, I couldn't take the risk of waiting, so had to use Lyft. I'd recommend to the hotel management that they ask the shuttle driver(s) to leave promptly, but not EARLY.

Very nice room and the drivers that took us to the airport were so great! I believe our first driver's name was Rick and I cant remember the other but they were both so, so nice and were very timely with taking us to the airport and picking us back up!

Our room smelt like dog urine and that wasnt very pleasant but since we were there only one night, we didnt make a fuss about it.

The front desk man was helpful & nice.

That I was over charged, and still havent recieved an email, or call back from the manager after several voice-mails & emails have been left and sent. Also the dresser in my room wouldn't stay closed, and that is a safety hazard. Especially for childeren.

Checkin could have been better Keys did not work so went back to desk to report,, they were replaced but still didn't work. May need new batteries in device.

The hotel is close to the highway, gas stations, some shopping. I was traveling across country, so this was important for my trip. The facilities were great and the staff was friendly and helpful.
