Quality Inn Savannah Historic District

The Quality Inn Savannah in the Historic District went way above our expectations. Had it not been for Mr. Suresh who was the clerk that worked for approximately 2 hours to check us in we would not have had any rooms - for the 3 room for 5 nights as Booking.com had not forwarded our reservation to them in February 2023 when I originally booked our rooms. Please see the WHAT I didn't like noted below.

I am very disappointed in Booking.com as they did not forward my 5 night stay for 3 rooms in February when I originally booked our trip. After contacting Booking.com via phone --Franklin was the person attempting to correct my problem. As stated above he did something which the hotel could not see to verify my confirmation, and actually contacted the hotel personally while I had him on hold on my cell phone, After a while he conveniently hung up on my call as well as the call directed to Mr. Suresh at the hotel. Thank goodness Mr. Suresh and the hotel manager finally corrected via something that they did to get into my reservation. Because of this error, I will never utilize Booking.com again. The location of the property was great. it was a little dated and there was some things that needed repaired but it was ok for us. staff was great except at checkout. we checked out at 10 and checkout was 11 and the lady would not let us leave our truck for one hour and we still had one hour before checkout time. she said they do enforce towing since we did not buy a parking pass. I figured at over 200 a night for a room 1 hour was not too much to ask and 1 hour until check out?? They do have security in the evening monitoring the parking lot.

I somehow forgot my laptop and an employee, Donna, went out of her way to not only recover it for me, but also is coming in on her day off to mail it back to me. (I am sending a prepaid box.) That is true customer service!!

I did not expect to have to pay for parking my car in their parking lot. The room faced the street and we could here a lot of traffic noises.

Location

The parking monitor didn't check with the front desk and a tow truck showed up to tow my Jeep. It could have been a bad situation, he accused me of just putting it there. If I didn't walk out and see a guy looking in my vehicle I would have been towed with the placard clearly displaying and my tag # on file in the office with make and model. The cable TV is fuzzy and some stations were just stuck all weekend.

The location is great! You are just blocks away from the riverfront, there is a handy little quick shop on the corner. Every thing is within walking distance! The rooms are a bit dated but they are clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

The breakfast area is a bit small and not a lot of choices. What was available was very good!

Great location, good value. Staff is friendly and accommodating. We requested a room away from Bay Street noise and our request was honored. The place needs updating yet it is kept clean and you cannot beat the location, literally steps from Market st restaurants, bars and shops, and it’s also a short walk from the river. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. There is a good size refrigerator, coffee machine and microwave in the room. Breakfast was included in the price when we stayed, which was a nice bonus. Could not ask for more for a long weekend getaway. Will be back.

Needs updating, but it was clean.

For the price and the location of this hotel it has to be one of the best around. We were able to walk to every place we wanted to go downtown and never had to worry about where we would be able to park our car or how long it would take to get back to our hotel. We were conveniently located about 2 blocks from River street. Also of all the surrounding hotels, Quality inn has the cheapest parking rate. The staff was all very friendly and helpful and a security guard could be noticed walking around the hotel at all hours.

When booking the property we knew the room opened into the outside like your typical motel does and parking was a little limited, however, at the time of our stay we never had an issue with getting a parking spot at our hotel. The room was a little small and slightly outdated but nothing too serious to have negatively impacted our trip.

Perfect area. Walking distance to many restaurant's and shops.

We were put in a room near the house keeping station and they were very loud at 7a.m. Slamming carts laughing talking very loud. Literally outside of our door. I know the work needs to be done but also be aware that you do work in a hotel where most people are on vacation and likely still sleeping or resting at that time in the morning.

The location was good.

The rooms probably could use some updating but it was ok for the price. They also need to address the sink, as it was very slow and plunging didn't help. I'm sure it will addressed after we check out.

Location, Location, Location. Right in the heart of Historic Savannah. Easy to walk everywhere. Room was large and comfortable. Loved the "pancake printer" at breakfast (many hotels aren't doing breakfast at all during Covid, so this was a real bonus).

Due to a booking mistake (our fault), we accidentally booked a different Quality Inn by the airport. We were able to cancel that, but we had to buy this one with day-of pricing, which worked out to almost $300/ night with taxes. We loved the location, but this is NOT in any way a luxury hotel. It was a _fine_ budget hotel, but this was 2-3 times a reasonable rate. Also, it was quite loud at night from traffic noise. We were there over 4th of July weekend, so there were lots of revelers out and about. Not the fault of the hotel, but light sleepers beware.
