Gulf View Waterfront Resort

Nice location and I received a good value for the stay. I only spent one night but, the next time I decide to visit the Keys, I will try to stay here again if there is a room available for me during that timeframe, at a reasonable rate.

The place is a bit dated. The refrigerator in my room was older and quite noisy. This a dated location, almost nostalgic and could use a number of upgrades. Also, it is a non- smoking facility but smoking anywhere outdoors is allowed. I am very allergic to smoke so, it was rather disappointing when I went to go watch the sunset and ended up not feeling well afterwards because there were smokers all around. There needs to be a designated smoking area away from the common areas so that non-smokers aren't subject to the damages of second hand smoke.

Beautiful location!! Very clean. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Beautiful pool and well kept. Water was clear and clean. Except for road noise (which is totally out of property’s control), it was very quiet and relaxing. Typical hot Florida weather!! BRING YOUR BUG SPRAY!!

Beds were a little hard,for our preference, but very typical for hotel/motel beds. #20 was our room. Very clean but very small. Would be perfect for 2 adults and 2 SMALL children, but with 10 & 11 year old boys it was cramped. (2 double beds) I really can’t complain, though, as we were offered an upgrade prior to arrival and at arrival, also. I made the mistake by not accepting the offer. The office has short “open hours”, 9-5, so making requests or asking questions,after returning in the evening, was not possible, and I try to respect that. Just a bit frustrating for me.

The pool was fantastic and the outdoor shared areas were beautiful. From landscaping to the ocean view, it was so lovely and peaceful. Our room's air conditioning was perfect and beds were very comfortable. Also, this is a great location and close to many restaurants or activities!

Some minor maintenance or room updates would be good. The inside main door latch came off the wall. There was a soft spot in the shower floor like you may fall in. There were pieces broken off in the shower and painted over, but the paint was peeling off. The shower knob also had a piece broken off. The bathroom door doesn't have a lock. The ramp and deck could be updated, as there were weak areas and broken boards. This is a great older hotel and we really just overlooked it's flaws honestly. We would love to come back.

It was quiet and easy to find. We enjoyed the kayaks and fished from their dock. The pool looked nice but we opted for the ocean instead. It wasn't overly crowded even on the busiest day. The iguanas were fun to watch swim. The rooms do have a full kitchenette with stove and dishes pans and everything you would need for a short stay. They have a nice view of the gulf!

Hate to nit pick, but the shower dripped constantly and the walls are paper thin. Their office is on the second floor so if you are disabled that may be a challenge to check in or out etc. We didn't see the famous tortoise :(.

The property and the room were very clean. The view of the gulf was lovely. The hotel was off the highway but you never felt like it because it was surrounded by trees and felt like a little private escape.

I only wish they pumped some cool water into the pool. I was looking forward to a refreshing dip in the pool in the 100 degree weather but the water was so warm.

We absolutely loved the location of the property, cleanliness of the facilities & the beds were amazing! However, the greatest part of our entire trip was the amazing staff, Miss Sandra in housekeeping, Miss Cleopatra in the office & the fantastic property manager that unfortunately I forgot her name. We can not wait to come back and visit this beautiful area and fabulous & friendly staff!

Bed was the most comfortable I experienced the whole time in Florida. Location... View. paradise. Worth staying here and not going to Key West. .

When I reserved on the website I reserved a two bedroom 4 bed with kitchenette, as well as a king size bed room etc. When we arrived they had for us 1 bedroom 2 full size beds. 1 king room. Said they did not even have a two bedroom as was advertised. The first night there we rented a third accommodation. That was not available for our second night so we had to move into 2 bedroom and make use of futon. Felt a little bait and switch as we had to purchase a third room as well as pay the extra price for what we didn't get .

Great staff. Use of kayaks and fishing rods included. Great pool. Great location and access to water. AC worked well! Coffee included. Simple kitchen with pans and silverware. Beach towels provided! Rooms (suite) very clean. Cornhole games avail. Fishing on the pier. View of sunsets from lounge chairs. Buildings freshly painted.

Would have been nice to have a bedside lamp in the bedrooms. The blades on ceiling fans were sagging.

Fantastic service, amazing location. Beautiful Gulf Views at a scenic, well maintained property with a great courtyard to relax in. Plus all the lovely birds to talk to. Coco was a blast and is such a brilliant bird, and Happy is gorgeous! Plus just a moments drive to a wonderful restaurant two doors over. Can walk there if you're really careful walking along the Highway.

Really struggled to think of something for this, but maybe additional watercraft rental options. It would have been even more fun to get out in the water on a paddle boat or the like.

I loved the size of the room, cleanliness, and the bed was comfortable.

Getting to the room was a bit confusing because you unlock a sliding glass door at the back of the property. I also didn’t know that there was a remote to control the temperature in a drawer, that would have been helpful because we were freezing. The shower was pretty but it leaked all over the place, we had to mop the floor several times.
