Balanced Rock Inn

Easy check in and out as I traveled cross country. This is a perfect place to stop over. It is right off the highway for easy access. They text and/or email you a code to your door. No need to go through a bunch of paperwork after you have been dri ibg for hours.the rooms are very modern and nicely remodeled. It reminded me of a high quality airbnb. This is my new stopping point when I drive Cali to Kansas.

I was on the second floor so there were stairs to get to the out door smoking area. This is minor - I guess I could have requested a ground level room if it was a big deal. There is some highway noise but with the room ac or fan on you really can't hear it.

Check in staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. 11:00 check out time gave me time to run some trails in McInnis Canyons before showering, eating, and driving on to Moab. I liked the outside entry because my dog gets nervous in hallways with strangers and other dogs. There's a clean, convenient park with grass across the street to take my dog to potty. Location was great for access to McInnis Canyons trails where my dog can run with me off leash.

I couldn't get the tv to work but decided it wasn't important enough to remedy. There were no outlets under or near the desk - again, no big deal.

Newly (?) remodeled, the room was very clean and appealing. I liked the hard floors (vs carpet), because they just make sense in a town like Fruita where you should be hiking / biking on dirt all day. Ample parking. Right across the street from a little park - perfect for those with dogs. Couldn't hear neighbors at all.

Bring ear plugs - not the motel's fault - this location is exceptionally noisy outside. The train tracks are across the street and the trains like to blow their whistles. Also, apparently, men in this town have to overcompensate for . . . something . . . by having really loud trucks / cars. Gunning your F-150 or driving your Honda Civic without a muffler doesn't have the appeal you think it does.

I was pleasantly surprised when checking into my room. It appeared that the facility had undergone a recent remodel, and the rooms were nicely updated. It was nice having a little coffee maker, small fridge and microwave in the room as well. Linens were so clean and white that I asked about putting something over them to protect against any dampness or mud from my dogs since it was snowy out, and something was brought to me right away. It’s always great to be able to find pet friendly accommodations, especially those that are really nice and clean. There was a park across the street which was nice too. The front desk was friendly and helpful.

Property was listed as pet friendly, but I didn’t see anyplace on the booking.com website to indicate that I had pets, so it was a surprise to the front desk. Maybe I missed it because I was working off my phone and not a computer. I think there might normally be a pet fee, which I was not aware of, but thankfully I was not charged in this case. This should probably be more prominent on the booking.com website.

Balanced Rock Inn is well maintained. We loved being close to Colorado National Monument (15 minutes) and downtown Fruita (5 minutes). The room is simple/basic but perfect for a place to crash at night after adventuring all day. The bed was super comfy, TV had tons of channels and fridge worked well (lots of mini-fridges at hotels don’t cool food evenly and can ruin produce but not this one). The hotel owner, who lives on the property, is kind, helpful and communicative. We’d definitely stay here again.

It would have been nice if the rooms had dressers but for short stays, we can easily can get by without one!

They have turned a regular motel into something special. It was so comfortable with much attention to detail and some high end additions. The linens were really nice and the bath products were nice. Nice cool air - great functioning fridge - nice outdoor space- fabulous breakfast room with the best option’s I’ve seen and stellar communication. I would definitely stay again and hope to come back to visit Colorado National Monument!

Everything! Especially liked that they were pet friendly and that we received the room # and pass code before we even arrived. Rooms were very clean and well equipped. Location was perfect and felt very safe. A small park to walk your pooch is directly across the street from where you park. Right off the Highway but still close to downtown Fruita with its food, bars and activities. Could not believe the prices. Very reasonable! We stayed 2 nights ...than decided to stay 2 more just to really relax.

Just what I was looking for - clean room, easy access with parking, and AC that works well. Great walkable location to Fruita's small downtown strip. It's a basic motel though, no pool or other amenities. Room on the smaller side but perfect for myself, a bike and some gear. Was pleased with the automated checkin system. Note that this spot is near the train tracks + highway, so you'll probably need some earplugs for sleep. I slept great though!

The breakfast provided was perfect for active folk. Hard-boiled eggs, apples, bananas, trail bars, milk, and much more. Ice machine was holding its own in 104 degree heat and the AC kept us cool for a good night's sleep. New sun-sails over the outdoor space are very nice.

I wish there were a way to park in the shade in summer. How about a solar array over the parking lot so we can park under it? ;)

Great location! All the amenities we.needed were there. Simple, clean room. Newly remodeled...laminate floors were much better than carpet! Comfy beds! We would definitely stay there again...highly recommend Balanced Rock Inn

Would liked to have a luggage rack to hold my open suitcase instead of working off the floor. Also some wall hooks to hang things since there is no closet
