El Dorado Hotel

The room was very comfortable. Location was great on the square.

There is no lounge or anywhere to hang out apart from the restaurant, which is expensive. I asked for breakfast of porridge in my room, but had to go down to the restaurant to order and pick this up, and it was served in a takeaway box which felt bizarre as the room was just above the restaurant. We also had the Mexican pop up one evening (ran by the hotel) which was delicious, but again had to eat out of takeaway containers on the floor of the hotel room! We didn't know until receiving the food, there'd be no facility to eat this in the building.

The location is unbeatable and the fact they have a pool in that location is just amazing.

It’s silly, but I had to carry my bags up some really steep stairs to my room. There wasn’t an elevator and nobody really offered to help me. My bags were super heavy and it took me two trips, which was just a bit inconvenient as I was in a rush. It’s really minor but an elevator or some help would have been great. I bet there’s a service one!

I loved this hotel. Hotel is very cute and with a lot of charm. It’s located across the street from the plaza and there is many cute shops and restaurants around and within walking distance. Loved that the hotel had great communication with us even before arriving. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable and our room had a balcony. We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival and were provided with water in our room. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Their parking is very limited so it was always full had to find parking on the street. There is a restaurant on site wish they were open past 8:30.

Great location on the historic Sonoma Plaza. Walkable to shops, restaurants and wine tasting. Restaurant had good food. staff was friendly and helpful. Espresso in rooms. Coffee in the lobby each morning. Bathrobes provided.

Parking is limited, although we did not have an issue. Rooms are somewhat small. Bathrooms are updated, but the shower might be a hit tight for a taller or larger person. Be aware that many restaurants around Sonoma Plaza close on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights. (The hotel restaurant and bar was open.)

The staff was great, very helpful. Complimentary coffee was great. Parking was also great, we rented a car to get from the airport to the hotel but then used a driver to take us around so it was very nice to have access to safe parking.

The restaurant opened too late to take advantage of. It would have been nice to be able to purchase some "must need" items - after visiting the wineries and returning after most retail in the area was closed it would have been nice to be able to purchase the "wine skins" to pack wine bottles with to put in checked luggage.

A great location. Staff was very nice rooms were very clean.

I would’ve loved to have known they did not have an elevator. And I had upgraded my room and I don’t think I got the upgrade and then they charged me $20 when I left and I don’t really know why and they didn’t know either. She couldn’t tell me why.

bathroom super small. bed was a little hard. maybe a mattress topper. restaurant should accommodate hotel guest at bar. we tried to sit at bar after a day and were told no seats but saw 4 open.

Really comfortable beds, heating was working very well, room size was larger than what I expected, snacks available in the room with a price, free coffee and tea at the lobby on arrival and throughout the day. Really good restaurants just steps away from the hotel.

Expensive but this is a nice hotel so in a way can justify the price, given that the other options in the square.

The food was delicious and our children paid for our dinner for their father’s birthday . However we thought we would have a 75.00 food credit which we found out was not available since we booked a different way and not through hotel

Historic hotel beautifully refurbished, located directly on the town square. Ideal for a short tourist visit.

The hotel part of the operation was pleasant and enjoyable; the "kitchen" part of the operation was a different matter. The hostess at dinnertime could not have been any more indifferent. Every question to her was met with terse, oblivious remarks. If she was trying to discourage us from eating or drinking there, she succeeded. It wasn't that she was snotty, just thoroughly unhelpful and seemingly oblivious to how she could make us feel welcome in their dining room or bar.
