Sierra Sky Ranch, Ascend Hotel Collection

I liked the free coffee and tea in the evening. Overall great feel of the cottage! It was very cute and nicely structured and designed. Liked the old vintage touches throughout the property. Loved the ease of unloading and loading the car nearby the rooms. Cottage is maintained well and loved the comfortable beds and the views of the yard. Thank you for letting us stay at your property!

Size and layout of the room with two Queen beds was a bit small for two travelers but we managed nonetheless. Everything else was good and the property was in a quiet location yet only minutes from Oakhurst. The cleanliness inside the dining area could be improved. Noticed lots of dirty plates sitting around and dirty table cloths. Breakfast could be improved with different items to choose from and more healthy meal options such as veggies, berries, etc.

The location is very good to visit Yosemite (only 25 minutes drive to mariposa grove) and near Oakhurst (5 minutes drive) where you can find many restaurants or grocery stores. The hotel was clean.

We can not recommend the hotel for travelling with smaller kids. We received a call from the front desk not to be loud or that the kids shall play in the lobby at 8 p.m. because another guest complaint about us. It was ridiculous because our kids just run after watching a movie (not loud) from bed to the bathroom (2 meters = 3 seconds) to brush their teeth and we directly got a call from the front desk because the old house is not well soundproofed. We had never such an experience and did not feel comfortable after that. On top there was a fire alert in the house (fail alert) which awakens us (we had to call the front desk to ask if everything is ok). The breakfast wasn‘t as good as expected or rated. Sandwiches for example were out at 8 a.m. (breakfast until 9 a.m.).

We chose this hotel because it was different from the normal chain hotels. We are glad we did! It’s is definitely different, with the pretty rustic decor, relaxed atmosphere, and quiet outside areas. We enjoyed our quick visit very much.

When we arrived the staff informed us that the ac in our room wasn’t working :( Not what you want to hear after a day of visiting Yosemite and the desert at 112 degrees and also a holiday wkend when every hotel was booked in the area. Definitely not their fault and they truly felt bad. They went to great lengths to cool down our room with fans until the sun went down and just as they said the temp was perfect. They also gave us a significant discount. I would definitely stay here again. Things happen, but the way they are handled makes all the difference.

Quiet location, loved the table and chairs on the deck outside the room to have morning coffee or a drink at the end of the day, staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean and roomy. Close enough to Oakhurst that we could easily run into town and get anything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Restaurant was not open so that was a little disappointing but wouldn’t keep me from coming back. Breakfast was mini muffins and microwaved Jimmy Dean biscuit sandwiches. We didn’t choose this place because of the breakfast so it was fine.

The room was lovely and the hotel itself had such character. The bed deserves a special mention as it was so cosy and comfortable! Overall the hotel was excellent value for money, especially considering that it included breakfast. We would also like to say a special thank you to the housekeeping staff for their meticulous cleaning of our room (it was spotless!) and also to the lovely server at breakfast who was super friendly and accommodating. We were really wowed by this hotel and it's value.

The whole ranch is stunning and the staff really friendly. We ate in the restaurant twice and the food was top class. We would particulary like to thank Oliver, the bar tender, and Brandon the chef who looked after us and made our stay so enjoyable. My wife did encounter a ghost on our first night in Room 32 and it wasnt until the next morning that we found out this "visit" is quite normal. You can read her story in the red book kept in reception. All added to the fun! We were on a grand tour through California and this hotel was without doubt the best we stayed in on our visit to the USA. Keep up the high standards and you will do really well!

Exceptional staff - very accommodating and pleasant. Smooth check-in process with welcome drinks. Location just about 20 mins from Yosemite's South Entrance which was great! We finally might just have our go-to hotel for when we visit/take friends to Yosemite! Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable - we had a shared patio with other rooms. Breakfast was your typical continental breakfast with toast, eggs, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, etc. Cozy lobby.

After a long day at Yosemite, we opted to have dinner at their restaurant Cowboy Tavern. Food was tasty but quite pricey for the serving sizes ($60 for a small soup, chicken drumsticks, pasta, and a small scoop of icecream). Glad we didn't come in famished or we would have ended up spending way more! Not a deal breaker though as you can always drive further down for other food options :)

My husband and I recently did a two week road trip from Colorado to California. We stayed in at least 8-9 hotel rooms and I think this was our favorite one. The property itself is beautiful and nestled into a secluded little forest right outside of town. The lobby and dining area was stunning and the room itself was cozy and SO clean. We also had a nice little patio outside of our room with a great view of the property. The breakfast was nice and the staff was helpful. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Yosemite!

Nothing, wishing we could have stayed longer!

Property is a lovely, homely wooden lodge type setting on open land. Really quaint and styled beautifully. Staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the ranch and the local area, including Yosemite. Our room was really comfortable and we felt right at home. Location was great, quiet but within minutes of everything and not far from entrance to Yosemite. Oakhurst has a nice small town feel but has everything you’d need. Breakfast included was so good: muffins, cereals, fruit, juices, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausages and potato cubes. Having come from Vegas where you need a mortgage to buy a hotel bottle of water we really appreciated the free water, teas, coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby - thank you!

From the moment we stepped inside the ranch, we were met with the friendliest staff and the cosiest location you could wish for. The ranch is the perfect spot to rest after a long day exploring, and you will feel super well looked after by each and every member of staff, from the welcome desk, to breakfast, and even the caretaker/gardener who helped us with snow driving tips!

The only thing that could be improved for me would be a modernisation in the bathrooms, but it really didn't affect how much we enjoyed our stay at all.
