Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort

I usually read the reviews, show up, and regret that I booked. Read the reviews that say, it’s older…but super clean. Staff, super nice. There are pools ALL around the facility so you don’t have to go to the main pool. They have shuttles throughout to get you up and down the passes. Yes, loads of walking…we took it as hikes. They also have hiking trails from the property. You really don’t need to leave and you can eat on-site, en-suite, and they also give you a listing of great places to order from (ask at front desk). It was ALL about the view and small patio area. It was very comfortable and clean. Think Grand Canyon hotels (not the most luxurious, 70’s vibe, but super clean). They constantly work on the property. We saw lots of workers around constantly fixing things. Pool had water slide for the kids, which is always a plus. They text you to check with you. So if you need anything, they are simply a text message away.

I can’t really think of anything that annoyed me and I’m the type that will leave a property if it’s not up to standard. Go in knowing that it’s more family oriented, not luxury oriented and they do a great job of that.

The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Everyone was kind and genuinely wanted to make the best experience possible for guests. Special shout out to Stacy (bartender), Paul (waitstaff), and Allen (transportation) for going above and beyond as I was a solo traveler. They each remembered (and used) my name, my preferences, and made me feel legitimately looked after.

The property is older, and some portions of it reflect this. The pool outside of building 16 had a lot of loose gravel which was unpleasant to walk over, and the lack of cool decking made it even more uncomfortable. There was plaster missing from some portions of the top of buildings which didn't seem to be a hazard, just unsightly. Also, at the same pool described above, I accidentally found an abandoned birds nest complete with a dead baby bird and unhatched egg - likely abandoned due to a guest touching it. But with more regular cleaning and maintenance of the area, I probably wouldn't have stumbled across this. The adult pool is kind of basic, and the bar/cantina doesn’t open up until about 2 hrs after the pool does, so the attention to detail for non-families is kind of lacking.

We live about one mile from resort. A one night stay was Great. The pools are one of a kind. The pool staff were really on point. Perfect staycation spot. Front desk needs alittle training in customer service. For the price, they entire staff especially the front desk should show more appreciation for the fguest. I kept hearing them say "this is resort policy". When actually they could have accomodated the guest very easily. All over a wrist ban I'm pretty sure the front desk made mistake on. No reason for that. But other then that, a great spot to stay

The price of some items were good, but the cost of food in the La Cantina an Pointe in Tyme was a bit to expensive. The variety for breakfast needs to be a bit better.

The property needs to be updated. They need to invest in updates to some of the suites. Should be told the only way to get around the property is to wait for the transportation golf carts. Very steep hills.

The location and area was beautiful. All the staff we engage with were very friendly and helpful, including our waiter at the fine dining restaurant. We celebrated our 17th anniversary there and he told us he’s been a waiter there for 24 years. Amazing! That says everything on its own. The restaurant, food, service and view were absolutely unforgettable. I also loved the variety of pools there were to enjoy. My biggest problem with this resort was that we didn’t stay longer.

On the second day we were there we went over to the water park area and excited to relax and float in the lazy river. Also one of the reasons I chose to book at this resort. After looking and not finding it I asked one of the staff and was told there wasn’t a lazy river at the resort. I reviewed and filter searched many resorts in Phoenix with a lazy river. The marketing department needs to review the web advertising and correct any errors published so it’s correct for future guests. Other than that Ttere were a couple areas that appeared a little dated and needed to be refreshed.

We have have stayed at Tapitio many times in the past. It makes for a great staycation, especially if you have kids. They have many pools to choose from including a water slide. They have a shuttle service to take you to and from the pool or restaurants with some amazing drivers.

This time the pool service was a bit slow on day one only. Our server was very sweet, but appeared to possibly be his first day. Food at the pool was not as good as before.

the entire resort is beautiful. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the pools are great.

the towels are paper thin, the shower beauty ring was not installed properly so there was just a hole to look at when I showered. the shower head did not provide good water pressure and the bed stuck out half way into the entrance of the bedroom. my pinky toe had 3 unpleasant encounters with the bedframe heading into the in the middle of the night. Lastly, the bathroom light switch is on the outside of the bathroom so when my wife or the kids when to the bathroom in the middle of the night I was greeted with a bright light 3 times a night.

Walking areas, lots pools

Love the room set up. Beds could for sure get replaced but not miserable. Our stay was good. Love that i had walking all around, i love to walk. Plenty of pools. Food was very good, would have like more food options. Nice & clean. Cabanas not worth 350! We have gladly paid that daily for cabanas but got a lot more with the cabana and they were much nicer cabanas! I say the 99 to 150 is all you should be charging for the ones at your facility. Bobby Qs we found and they have AMAZING FOOD!!! A MUST VISIT!! I would return here if beds updated..upgraded.

The architecture, the layout, and the views.

The jets in the hot tub nearest my room weren’t functional for the duration of my stay. The doors to my suite didn’t close because the wood was split. The ice/vending area nearest my room contained only a broken refrigerator and an umbrella. No microwave in the room, nor coffee filters. Shower head spray was intermittent due to lime buildup.

I lived in the North Phoenix area for more than 10 years and it felt like I was returning home. I enjoyed being nestled into the desert landscape and the proximity of the property to the mountain preserve (North Mountain and Shaw Butte). Wish I had time to relax more by a few of the more intimate pools. Traveled with a grandchild and we loved the “water park” style pool and slide.

It was a little confusing at first remembering where our room was. Walking can be a challenge due to the hills. I’m a walker so that did not bother me but my granddaughter complained!!!
