The Robin Hill

Exceptional breakfast, good selection and well cooked, probably the best breakfast you could have. Staff very attentive and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Rooms very clean and well furnished. Would highly recommend. Lovely old building with original features.liked the China cups and saucers with little gold spoons in the room!! Nice touch.

On a hill. Lots of stairs to second floor so not ideal for those with limited mobility. Easier access to first floor rooms at the top of a grand staircase. Parking available but not a lot of room to manouevre.

The location of Robin Hill is great to be able to get to the harbour and shops, bit of a hill to get up but it was manageable. It was easy to get to where we decided to visit on our days out, with buses and ferries running frequently. Room was very clean and everyone at the establishment were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect every day, and regularly asked if anymore of anything was required.

There was nothing about the Robin Hill that we disliked. The fact that it is on a hill would need to be considered, but the establishment was very nice.

We were only staying for the one night as had a cottage booked for the rest of the week. Breakfast was great, I had full English and my wife had cereal and eggs on toast. I don't know the name of the lady who served us but she was very attentive and helpful. Location wise wasn't to far from the front. Room was very clean. they had a bar facility but we had a very long journey so didn't use it but good facility to have. the host was very welcoming and helpful. Over all a great place to stay.

Bedroom we were in was a little small, but was comfortable. Parking at bottom is a little difficult to manoeuvre into if there are other cars but I got parked at the top fine. these were very minor things, over all I'd recommend.

Great breakfast plenty of selection and loads to eat. Helen and Andrew were oustanding at getting your breakfast ready in a record time every day.Nothing to much trouble First class service on all aspects of hotel.Location was just right Walking distance of town centre and bus stops within a few yards of hotel.

Everything was taken care from the moment we ariived Nothing i didnt like. Andrew was the perfect host along with all his staff. We stayed for two weeks No complaints at all. Well worthy of 4 star.

I need to mention the friendly welcome, sounds simple I know, but Andrew makes you welcome, puts you at ease and is prepared to put himself out to make your stay comfortable. For regular hotel users breakfasts are a contentious issue with the drive to cut costs often making their mark in the quality of breakfast items, not at Robin Hill Hotel, 10 out of 10 on that score. The double-room was fine, clean and well equipped, I would recommend Robin Hill Hotel.

What didn't I like? That's not easy and a very short list. Umm, I'm still trying to think of something. I suppose if I was being pedantic I could criticise the uphill walk from the harbour front, but I'm not going to. No as I said it's a very short list.

Twin bedded room was very spacious, so was the bathroom , also lovely and clean. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order.

Car parking was a bit on the tight side but we managed. I have to admit I found Andrew the proprietor, a little on the grumpy side, he failed to say “Good Morning” when he was spoken to, he just kept his head down. Maybe he was having a bad morning !

Andrew checked us in, told us where everything was, asked times for breakfast & what we would like to eat (lush breakfast) nothing was a bother to him he is very helpful, breakfast staff lovely too. Room was immaculate, cleaned & beds made every day , clean towels every day. No view from room but that didn't matter as weren't spending a lot of time in it. Car park a bit tight but always got parked. Lounge was cosy at nights with a bar to chill out, met some lovely people. If we are travelling to Torquay again will definitely stay at The Robin Hill.

Everything..Andrew was an exceptional host he looked affer us very well. Breakfast was spot on and a wide choice it kept us going and we both enjoyed it and staying with Angela and Andrew. It was obvious from conversations in the breakfast room that alot of the guests were repeat returners. This is not surprising and if we return to Torquay we will also be repeat guests. Well done Andrew!

Nothing we didnt like

Our stay at the Robin Hill hotel was very relaxing. The breakfasts were varied and delicious and cooked fresh to order . Our friendly hosts were very helpful with local knowledge and ideas of where to go sightseeing .

We liked everything about the Robin Hill Hotel.

The owner made the effort to remember very guests name which was a nice touch The breakfast was pre-ordered and was ready as at the time booked.

The first room we had was in the roof was Very small. I asked if we could upgrade and was told the reason for the room we had was because we booked through booking.com There was an upgraded room available for the next day. We were told to leave our bags in the first room and when we return they would be in the upgraded room. When we returned in the afternoon on the second day we were shown to a far superior room and our bags we waiting there for us. Next time I will go through the hotel when booking to ensure I get the better room. This upgrade only cost £10 .
