The Ormond At Tetbury

The room was huge with lots of space for relaxing and the bathroom well equipped. Sadly my friend who I was travelling with is unable to use a shower and we had requested a room with a bath which we didnt get but for me it was perfect.

There was no specific person manning the reception . We had an early check in booked and the staff were very shirty with me and although the room had been cleaned it had not been restocked (No spare loo roll, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits etc). I had requested two extra pillows which I had to ask twice more before I received. My friend arrived later than me and the staff were very unfriendly and very uhelpful to her (she is 89 and not well). No one would help her carry her bag upstairs and she didn't know where to find me. That was probably the worst experience which is a shame. Having no parking was difficult.

Lovely comfortable and smart room and good shower. Right in the middle of the town so easy access to everywhere. We visited Highrove which was a 10 minute drive. Staff very pleasant and helpful, especially Olivia who was a ray of sunshine and looked after us during check in and at breakfast. We opted for B&B the choice was great and everything absolutely delicious, especially the eggs benedict. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to the hotel. Tetbury is a lovely town.

I had read some reviews stating that the cleanliness was not up to scratch. Whilst I did notice this ( big stain on ceiling in bedroom and a few stains on the carpet) the things that were important to me such as clean bed and spotless bathroom were very good.

Great room and place

There was no car pk at hotel so had to pk in main village car pk which was 5 minutes away which we had to pay for breakfast not great asked bar staff for a brandy and he did not know what that was they did say he was training also when we booked our stay we paid for two evening meals but when we got there we were told the limit would be £50 any extra then we would have to pay more we was not told this when we booked

Great location with limited parking outside however car park was only a short walk around the corner, very friendly and helpful staff, booked Sunday lunch for me and my friend in an neighbouring pub as sadly that day Sunday lunch wasn’t being served. Breakfast great, lovely twin room, nice and clean with a very comfortable extremely soft bed, only problem was the room was so hot on the top floor, there was a fan provided though.

Doesn’t have any car parking as such only on street parking opposite the front entrance but only for an hour, so basically only good for a drop off. The room was clean however a stagnant water smell was present in the bathroom, tried running the taps but smell still present. The room was hot we could open the window however the room was at the front of the property and I’d imagine the road might get busy, not too bad on a Sunday evening though. No complaints really.

I was greeted by a very friendly staff member on arrival. She was warm.and welcoming. Our room.was lovely..very spacious and beautifully decorated. ( it was a family/ triple room but there were 2 of us sharing)The Bathroom was lovely and modern. The whole room.was clean and well presented.The location on the main street of Tetbury, was very convenient. It is a small town hotel and is very nice. Tetbury is a quaint English small town with some nice shops and cafes which were open on Sunday.

The main street was noisy early on the Sunday morning , there was some work on nearby scaffolding. Thats not the fault of the hotel, but it was annoying at 7:30 am. Be mindful it is on the main street so will be a bit noisy with traffic if you open the windows. Nothing too bad through. The hotel is expensive but compared to prices in the area its similar and was very nice.

The room was very nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The bar area was great and the breakfast was lovely.

The bed was very comfy although too soft for me but that is personal preference, so meant that I didn't sleep particularly well and had a backache in the morning. We were only supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel so we had to share, not great. I am sure if we had spoken to reception that they would have sorted it out for us but as we were only staying for one night we didn't bother.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. On the evening I arrived, I dined with friends. The meal was paid for by one of the group and was very good.

Unfortunately, a group next to us in the dining room were extremely noisy, which upset the friend, who was paying for the meal. It was unfortunate, as her husband`s funeral was taking place the next day. I did wonder if there maybe a quieter area where we could have eaten? We have dined here on a few occasions and had the same problem previously but not always. I appreciate that this may be a problem beyond your control.

The location is brilliant, right in the heart of Tetbury and all that this pretty little village has to offer. The room was incredible with high eves and beautifully appointed. It was one of the ones at the back rather than in the main building (not sure if that makes a difference). The atmosphere in the bar was nice and chilled and the courtyard out the back is very pretty - could happily have spent the whole evening out there.

Nothing really - all good, the staff were a bit stretched but always polite and friendly. Breakfast (full English) was so so rather than spectacular. No parking but it is only a short way to a free long stay car park (and that is a small price to pay for being located right on the high street)

We loved the property, the decor, comfy beds and well appointed rooms. The bar/pub was fabulous - we ate there both nights and the meals were great. I wish we had had more time to just relax in the lounge adjoining reception! The staff were exemplary at every touch point.

Our only tiny niggle was the noise on the Saturday night as pub life was in full swing, and our room overlooked the courtyard, but the room and overall accommodation more than made up for this. The Sunday was much quieter.

We were really impressed with the room, we were offered an upgrade which was very luxurious. It was a little on the cold side on arrival and we couldn’t find any instructions for the radiators so used the portable heater. The pub was very busy and we were told that as the rugby was on we wouldn’t get a table which was a bit disappointing however we found a lovely restaurant just a bit further down the road and a really classy wine bar called Lola and co.
