The actual room/bathroom were excellent. Unfortunately, it was a side room, overlooking the next door property, which was about 7 foot away, so the view wasn't great. The property opposite also had a security light shining straight at the window, which was motion activiated. Sadly, the security light went on and off continually all night, it might have been faulty, but every time I fell asleep, I would be woken by the security light coming on (it stayed on for ages). The hotel room did have blackout blinds and curtains, which I shut, but the light came in around the edges. I had a very bad night's sleep.

The security light on the next door property shining straight into the hotel bedroom window. There also doesn't seem to be any sound-proofing between rooms. I could hear the room above turning on the bathroom light and their extractor fan. Ditto rooms next door to me. I could hear the opening and closing of draws in adjoining rooms. Very thin stud-walls between rooms! It's a shame, because it is a lovely hotel, looks great, and looks like it's recently be refurbished, but they forgot about soundproofing.

Excellent hotel, superb location set back from but overlooking the coast. We booked a double which was great, but the single was a very small room with very small skylight. Ok to sleep in, but that’s all.

Better info at time of booking re any room with skylight only; it’s unusual, and not great.

The only improvement I can think of would be to add a couple of comfy arm chairs so you can sit and have a cuppa and look at the beautiful view from room no 2.

The location, hotel and food was exceptional and everything more than met our needs. The staff were very attentive especially David and the breakfast staff. The breakfast was varied and very good and we ate in the new restuarant on our first evening and the food was excellent one of the best meals we had during our stay. The room was large (slept 4) but we were allocated it as we requested single beds. I cannot fault the Beach House Hotel in any way.

There was nothing really. Maybe the ventilation in the bedroom could have been better and a few more coat hangers but these did not have any bearing on our stay.

Location so near to the amazing , breathtaking beaches. The views from the front windows were just awesome. Just loved sitting in the lounge with a drink looking out to sea . All staff were just so lovely but an extra big shout out to David, so polite and friendly and made our holiday. What an asset to the hotel he is. Our room was so clean and comfortable and housekeeping ladies kept it clean and well stocked. Food was delicious. Especially the breakfasts. Car parking was a bonus. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Having to leave

Lovely, newly refurbished hotel with fantastic views over the Farne Islands. Friendly and welcoming staff, many seemed new to the job, but willing to help in any way and always with a smile. We had a seaview room, (room 21) the room was small but adequate, comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, a problem with the kettle sorted quickly (sorry about the smoke alarm!) Great shower and clean bathroom. We ate at the hotel on the first night, lovely meal and good service. Breakfast delicious, varied and plentiful, items had run out at our chosen eating time every morning but these were replaced when we asked. Self service fruit, cereals, yoghurts, pastries and toast. Variety of cooked breakfasts freshly made to order. Good choice of drinks in the bar, cosy seating with a great view. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again soon.

One small niggle - The smart TV in our room (21) required an update that neither we nor a staff member could sort out, this meant none of the apps would work so we couldn't watch BBC iplayer, netlfix etc

Breakfast was excellent. Our pet was welcomed. The location was wonderful with a walk across the road to the sea, a sweeping sandy beach with a view of the Farne Islands. The hotel has recently seen a good amount of investment - and this was abundantly clear - great and spacious bathroom. Comfy bed, not a huge room, but much more than adequate, clean and comfortable communal areas. I liked the 'gift' on the pillow (eye shades, made very good use of these).

Picky - but our room was above the bins, and things were enthusiastically thrown into them - but a minor inconvenience. The bar staff were very pleasant and accommodating, but pricing seemed inconsistent (three different prices for three equivalent 'rounds' of drinks - not sure why). There actually wasn't much at all that I didn't like.

The location of the hotel was quite near the shops (a few minutes I would say) and just a few yards to the seaside. There were ample parking spaces. The room that was given to us was absolutely beautiful like it was newly renovated, clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast was served warm and cooked how I wanted. Staff are friendly and Zara was very helpful.

I don’t have any problem with the property at all as we had a pleasant stay. However, it will be much better if all staff wears a name badge so we can recognize and give credit to those who deserve recognition for their good customer service.

Location

No bin for putting used tea bags or bits of rubbish in and no mirrors in room for my partner to use her tongs to straighten her hair,plus no slip mat in bath while showering(nearly hurt my back when slipped in shower.) Just a small one we had room 22 TV totally in wrong position had a creak in neck trying to watch it.
