very friendly and helpful staff. Good size room and plenty on the tea tray for guests use. Good location for us to tour the area on our motorcycle.

Breakfast let it down. Totally self service and not much choice. no one came to make sure everything was okay and guests were happy- muesli ran out which was the popular cereal on offer other choices were cornflakes, coco pops and rice crispies not usual most peoples breakfast favourite. Our room was quite noisy as it looked over the busy country road it did have lovely thick curtains to help deaden the traffic noise.

From the moment we arrived, the customer service and hospitality were excellent. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the general manager, who let us access our room ahead of check-in time, which was much appreciated. We spent the day enjoying the locally-produced cider and then had a fabulous dinner, followed by a delicious dessert. We best slept like logs and then enjoyed the self-service breakfast in the morning. We highly recommend The Trooper Inn as a getaway-from-it-all retreat with great pub food and friendly and attentive staff.

The Trooper Inn was easy to find. Lots of free car parking. Helpful staff who quickly checked us in and explained how to use the key card to access our room and front door. Very comfortable bed and lots of hot water. Continental breakfast was available, but we had an early morning departure. Speedy check-out.

It would be useful to have had a longer electrical lead to plug in the kettle and a detachable shower attachment or a jug for washing/rinsing hair.

Easy to find and convenient for us in terms of places we were visiting before and after staying, close to Chawton. View of fields and woodland from window, saw two deer walk across. Excellent dinner menu. Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean, new-looking bedding, towels thick and fluffy. Great pillows and bed. Full English breakfast included. Double glazing completely silenced the chatter from the beer garden when the window was closed.

It was a warm night but the heating was on low. The bed had a duvet. A top sheet would have been better.

We were only there for a couple of hours as had planned on staying the night before as had tickets for good wood but sadly due to severe weather warnings it was cancelled so decided to drive back home so only made use of the room for about an hour . Not The Troopers Inns fault but worked out very expensive paying for a hotel and fuel to then not to get to GoodWood .

The room and bathroom were spotless (and I looked!); the bed was comfy; the shower had great water pressure; the staff were friendly and helpful; the evening meal of fish & chips was delicious and beautifully cooked, and the gardens were very pretty. I would thoroughly recommend this inn.

No hot (or even warm) water early evening for a bath... No backed chairs outside (even in the rear, secluded garden) only bench seats attached to the tables. Impossibly uncomfortable for elderly or disabled people.

Room was clean and comfortable.

The breakfast was pathetic- Cereal, toast, coffee, tea, apples and packet croissant and little else. (supposedly continental) It would have been better to have been told of this, so we could have arranged breakfast elsewhere. Because of this we will not be returning. Also, I have never seen such a small kettle - travel for one, and miniature tea mugs. We were in a king size room for two.

A quiet little Inn away from all the commotion of the town/city. Friendly staff and an amazing little pub attached with delicious food! The room was very cozy and comfortable as well as very clean. The private bathroom was also very clean with fresh towels brought by every morning and a generously sized tub to soak in. Wi-Fi worked well in the area as well.

Absolutely nothing! It was a wonderful place to get away from the every day busyness of life. I highly suggest if you're in the area and needing a break from everything, spend a few nights at the Trooper Inn; you won't regret it!

Management, Staff and Local Patrons are all friendly and helpful. Chris made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We ended up booking an additional 4 days, and will definitely be back. Thank you Trooper Inn.

The food served in the evening was really excellent and good value. The staff were all lovely. Plenty of parking, good beers, nice rooms and close proximity to Petersfield, though not walkable.

Our twin beds were very hard and unyielding. Felt like old-fashioned linked springs rather than pocket sprung. A pity as the room was otherwise great. The others in our party liked their beds and were most comfortable, so might have only been the twin room? Didn't like having to decide on whether to have breakfast or not the night before, though as it turned out, we were still stuffed from the excellent meal we had the night before, so glad we didn't book breakfast!
