Torwood House

The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building. High quality rooms and high quality service. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and Lynda and Steve were amazing. They went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Penzance. They were extremely accommodating and allowed me to leave my luggage there before check in. So this was a big plus. The sevice was exceptional as well. Overall, I had a great experience with the Torwood House. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect for vacations.

Lynda welcomed us and our dog with a friendly smile and warm demeanour. From the moment we arrived, we felt encouraged to make the place our home. The breakfast was really delicious (excellent chefing, Steve!), and the room was spacious and bright. (Don't worry, though, the blackout curtains allow for a lie-in as well.) Lynda had been very accommodating and kind, despite us having to rebook a couple of times. This is a truly dog friendly B&B, and we were a block from a park where it was easy to take ours out first thing in the morning. We were about a 10-15 minute walk from everything we wanted to do, which was perfect, and there was easy, available street parking right outside. As an added bonus, when we arrived downstairs for breakfast on Easter morning, everyone had an Easter egg at their place setting - such a thoughtful touch! Truly, we would love to come back, and if we do another stay in Penzance, it will be when there is availability at Torwood House, as this was part of what made our trip so special.

Location. Just a few seconds/minutes walk to the sea front and about 15 minutes pleasant promenade walk to the centre/harbour area. Nice wide road and plenty of parking available on this road where the B&B is located. Room had all the facilities you need for a short break. It was quiet and warm. Bathroom well finished/modern. Room 5. Breakfast (Full English & Veggie English) was excellent. Service quick.

A little cramped in the room and bathroom but this was a very minor issue. Try to park your car in between the trees on the road side as if not you will get plenty of bird droppings on it. We heeded our own advice and so got off lightly. Other cars were not so lucky! Nothing to do with our stay at the B&B though!

The couple that runs this guest house are friendly and very welcoming, the property is clean and the rooms are of a good size. We had a freshly cooked full English breakfast every morning, there's also a vegetarian or continental option available. The guest house is close to amenities and a stone's throw away from the beach. We love this place and we will definitely be returning. We would recommend this guest house, it's a great place for a relaxing break.

To be totally honest there wasn't anything that we didn't like.

Very warm welcome. Clean and comfortable room. The bed was a bit small for us (our problem, not the B&B) but we still slept well. Nice bathroom and towels. The breakfast was fantastic, with so much choice and the cooked element was the best breakfast of our 10 days in Cornwall.

There was nothing to dislike about our stay. My only gripe is the distance from the harbour was 14 mins on google maps. It was more like 25 mins. Again this is not a fault with the B&B.

Lynda was absolutely amazing and so welcoming, lovely to chat too and a great host all around. We arrived early, and that was no problem at all. Our little dachshund was made welcome as well. Would stay again. Great location to town. It was easy to find a parking space, and we left the car there and walked around most of the time. Food was great with a good choice of things to have.

Good location (10 minute walking distance from the city centre) and nice clean bed room. The premises doesn’t have the parking but the roads close it have free parking spaces. We had no problems with that. The hosts are very nice and welcoming.

There’s no elevator, our room was at the top floor. Although the breakfast was nice, we could smell it from inside the room as we were in the top floor.

The room was very clean, light and airy. The towels had a lovely scent to them. The bathroom was better than any other hotel I have stayed in. The owner was so welcoming and lovely, very patient, and understanding about our energetic 11 month old puppy. The breakfast was lovely. Well cooked and hot. A nice selection of other items, too.

Great location as the promenade was only a short walk away. Close by is the laundromat where someone will wash and dry your clothes while you visit nearby villages. The Torwood owner was friendly and helpful. Breakfast comes with a menu and it was lovely to have something different. Best B&B I stayed in while in Cornwall.

Received a warm greeting from Lynda. Got shown to our room and was very impressed. It felt very clean. Everything was set out very well and matched nicely. Very tasteful. Lynda explained where everything was and was very helpful to advising us on somewhere nice to eat later in the evening. Breakfast was a treat. We have never been given such a good choice. Would love to come should we ever be in the area
