Very welcoming hotel with a very comfortable and spacious room. Breakfast was superb. Location is ideal for both the airport and Glasgow centre - trains from Paisley were very regular (e.g. every 10minutes), travelling directly into Glasgow in 10minutes. Free parking and avoided the need to drive into Glasgow.
Noise from other guests leaving early as room doors slammed closed. Perhaps a softer close on the fire door mechanism?

The hospitality was outstanding! We noticed that within the next five years, Paisley is going to pop with culture, becoming a tourist destination in its own right. I really hope the Ashtree House Hotel is able to capitalize on the direction the community is going in. With the hotel ownership/management's expertise in providing guests with kindness and care, they could really have a premier upscale hotel property for future guests in Paisley. Just to let other travelers know, the area around the hotel is currently under a lot of construction and change. And like basically everything in Paisley, the Ashtree could do with a reno (can't we all tho!). But that's part of its charm, isn't it? It tells of grander times and better days when industry and commerce flowed. Our room, in particular, was serviceable, though in need of a pick-me-up in decor. The size was massive, and I kept thinking of how important the people who lived there must have imagined themselves to have been. Meanwhile, my ancestors and their 11 children, who lived a stone's throw away from the Ashtree in the early 1800s, scraped by in the textile industry. Most likely, my 5xgreat-grandfather worked for the family who owned the house, which really made me feel intense gratitude for our stay at the Ashtree and our experience of historical Paisley. As all the public spaces around the hotel are getting overhauled, improved, and enhanced, it's impossible not to see the potential of the hotel. Its location, history, and superior "bones" would make it an incredible location for an upscale hotel and event space. If there is a smart investor out there, they should be having conversations with the owners. I really hope in five to ten years' time the Ashtree has reimagined itself.

My room was very comfortable, well equipped, clean and quiet. The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful and was very happy to accommodate my request for an early breakfast and provided good recommendations about local restaurants etc. The hotel has a very comforting traditional feel to it and is very well located for the town’s facilities and restaurants etc. Safe off road parking in from of the hotel was very convenient. All in all a very good stay.
There is nothing that I did not like.

We had a huge room in a lovely old house, the breakfast was good, the hosts were nice. Great parking lot, close to train station for easy access to Glasgow.
The hosts were nice enough, but didn’t really make us feel comfortable for some reason. We usually like to sit in the common room and have a beverage at night, but we felt like we were intruding somehow, so we played cards and drank in our bedroom. There wasn’t really anything open after 5:00, very few restaurants or pubs, a lot of seedy places in the area. There was an issue with the hot water for the shower that took quite awhile to resolve. It was a nice enough place, but not my favorite at all.

Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The hotel itself was in very good repair, given its age as a silk merchants home from 1795! We so much appreciated the historical ambience and informational book provided by the owner that told us more about the home and Paisley history. The owners were Tom and Maureen we super nice, helpful, and fun to chat with. The breakfast was our first "Scottish" meal, having just arrived to Scotland and we still won't forget it; perfect and so graciously served. The main sitting (tea and lounge) rooms were especially inviting and comfortable with lovely art to enjoy throughout. We had an excellent sleep with extremely comfortable bedding. The location could not have been better! It was right next to the downtown "village" and the Scot Rail which we simply walked to in order to catch a great roundtrip visit to nearby Glasgow. We felt perfectly safe in the area. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a really special place to stay and are spending a day or more in the Glasgow area, especially if you don't want to bother with city crowds and transportation inconveniences.
There was nothing to dislike.

Beautiful old Georgian home that was nicely renovated and decor was fitting with the Georgian period. Lovely rooms with moldings and built ins. The lounge and breakfast and bar area were lovely. They had parking available on site. It was a short walk to restaurants and pubs. The owners and staff were really great.
If you use the GPS address the postal code is the same for 2 different streets and so it was a bit hard to find at first. We had to trek down a cobblestone Wynd and once we got there we got directions to move our car so really not a big deal. Just an FYI.

Grand old property and spacious room, modern shower, great towels and linens, friendly staff gave us sightseeing tips and called a taxi for us.
We reserved a ground floor room, but found out on arrival that the one gf room was given to another traveler. We had a medical reason for needing that room, so it was difficult. We were told we'd been notified by email from booking.com of the change, but we never got the message. The bed was a bit firm for our taste. Lastly, the WiFi was fair at best, at times non-existent. I went downstairs to the drawing room, or went outside the room on the stairs landing, when I needed good wifi. The room cost half again what we normally budget, so with the issues, the overall value didn't seem to match the price.

Hotel is very close to the airport. Front desk will contact a reliable cab service that will show up at 3am to accommodate your unreasonable early flight home. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large. Bathrooms first class. We also booked this hotel as our landing place for our inbound international flight to Scotland. Our advice is to call Renfrewshire Cabs yourself 0141 887 7770 for both ends of your trip - there is a back route to and from the airport, and thee guys know it.

Beautiful old hotel with period features. Lovely breakfast. Attentive staff who provided information on getting to Glasgow. Parking outside. Comfortable big room with lovely views. Bathroom fab. Close to paisley gilmour street train station which takes about 10 minutes to get to Glasgow Central.
Stayed for 3 nights and had dinner each night. Limited menu but good food. Dining room was a little chilly. They do have fireplaces which I think they could have made use of for ambience and heat. Any issues we had were minor and dealt with quickly. Lighting in the dining / bar areas was quite stark. Local area was a little rough looking.

Hotel rooms were exceptionally nice. Love that it's near shopping and easy access to a train station and the GLA airport but tucked back into an unexpectedly private area with a peaceful back garden. Wish we had been able to stay longer! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and were able to park our car and come back later for check-in after our planned activities. The breakfast was also phenomenal, enjoyed by all parents and children.
