Pensalda Guest House

Our host was Karen, who was very friendly and accommodating. She welcomed us when we arrived and took us to one of their beautifully constructed chalets at the rear of the property. The room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean; it had a nice, powerful shower and a wonderfully soft bed; one could not ask for any more. In the mornings, we had the option of a continental or full English breakfast, which was very tasty. Her son James also has fabulous local knowledge and suggested that we take a mini trip to Charlestown Harbour in St. Austell, where the Poldark series was filmed. This was fabulous with the long boats in the harbour and the movie prop set. Not to mention the hotel is only a stone’s throw from Port Beach, which is great for its views, especially the Mermaid Pools. I look forward to another visit next summer. David & Lorraine

It was a quick weekend getaway for me, wife and my 15 month old daughter.karen - owner and hostess was so friendly and welcoming.we felt like we were at home. The room was spotless and cozy.james has done a really good job with the help of 7000+ nails updating the garden and back rooms, gave it a cozy log cabin feeling with uninterrupted wifi, no noise, Japanese themed back garden was great. Free guest parking and 24hr cctv, private side entrance, full English breakfast ( we had vegetarian English breakfast) £6 per head per night, food was amazing and reasonably priced, free continental breakfast and tea and coffee. We will definitely come here to stay if we come to Newquay, we had a really great tome. Highly recommended.

Karen & James we're excellent hosts, the room was brilliant and very clean, the price includes a continental breakfast ( which was lovely) but an added bonus was that Karen would cook you a full English for a little extra if you order the day before. Really enjoyed our stay and loved meeting the fur babies lol x oh and the garden is awesome too

Really lovely place. Filled with kindness from the owners. Check in was easy and fast. We had two different rooms. One inside the Building one outside in a small cottage in a garden. The garden was so cute even Fish in a wooden tank. Honestly i can reccomend to anyone Family, friends, couple. Rooms was tidy and renoveted. Two breakfast options. But free breakfast option was enough to kill first hunger.

Everything was great

Everything was impeccable. Immaculate and comfortable chalet. Everything we need was there. Garden was fab too, the kids enjoyed the koi fishes. The location is spot on with short stroll to the beaches and short drive to the town. And Karen and family were the best hosts. Breakfast was amazing. She catered for our kids breakfast choices really well.

Nothing. If I am being really picky, it would be a lower mirror in the bathroom, as I like to see where I’m putting my face creams, but there is a full body mirror at the bedroom to compensate for that, so it was alright.

Love staying here. Have been before and will be back next Year. Karen is very welcoming.The room is very comfortable,nice shower, television, kettle. I love the parking as this is a rarity especially in Cornwall. Good WiFi signal and continental breakfast. Love the garden aswell.Lovely and quiet and it's in walking distance to the beach and amusements and shops.

A wonferful guest house. Spotlessly clean, great value for money and very well run. Karen is a really lovely host and breakfast is super. Lots of choice and overlooks the lovely garden. Feels homely and relaxed. Parking is a real bonus and the short walk into town makes it a perfect location. Would return in future

Perfect location- 15 minutes walk to beach. Stunning guest house and cabins- Clean, spacious, equipped and newly refurbished to a high standard. Beautiful garden- so picturesque and calming. Breakfast- perfect start to your day and great selection. Will 100% be returning and recommending to friends and family

As we stayed on the hottest day of 2022, a mini fridge in the room would of come in handy but we just brought a bag of ice to keep liquids cool which equally worked fine

Breakfast was excellent There was a good selection of cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurts etc and a fabulous coffee and just about everything else coffee machine. Karen, (the owner) would provide a freshly cooked English breakfast for those that chose it at a small extra cost. I had a pot of tea and freshly made toast most mornings Our room was located in the garden which comprised 3 rooms and we had the lovely view of the gardens as soon as we opened the curtains in the mornings. There was also free parking. A blessing in Newquay as public car parks were quite pricey. It was a pleasant walk to the town centre and within walking distance of several beaches.

Everything was great as it was. No complaints.
