Chapter Two Bar

Rory, the owner/ manager was friendly, accommodating and helpful. The location couldn't be more central. There was good communication, the bed was comfortable (my husband who has problems sleeping slept very well as did I) and there was plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room. The room was very clean and quiet. There were renovations in the pub downstairs at the time of our stay but as mentioned the communication was very good and we were told ahead of time (several weeks) and this gave us the option of booking somewhere else, but we decided to stay anyway. We are glad we did as the renovations didn't affect us and all the staff were really helpful.

Nothing really. Overtime, the rooms may want to be updated in the decor but this is personal choice and in no way impacted on our stay.

Stayed for 2 nights in July 2022. Situated right in the centre of Malton with a friendly and popular local bar below. Quiet in the room after 10.30 to 11.00pm after closing time. Free parking in the cattle market at the back (certainly at the weekend). Friendly welcome from the staff on arrival. Nice, small clean room with fresh decor. Hanging rail for clothing. Single beds were very comfortable, nice en suite with a decent shower. Small tv, bottled water, kettle with plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits in the room, with extra supplies downstairs if needed. Lots of places to eat out, just minutes away- both for dinner and breakfast. I would definitely stay again 😊

Nothing not to like, just to note that the room is on the small side, but it’s an old building and wasn’t a problem for us.

Did not have breakfast. Ate in a nearby cafe. The room was perfect for what we came for which was an overnight stay. Right in the market square. Parking available. Was able to walk around on the evening and go for a drink and a meal, then went to castle Howard the next day. Staff were so friendly and helpful and made the stay all the more special. Would love to go back.

Nothing, most satisfied with location, service and room.

Location was where we wanted to be, right in the town center. Owner and Staff are very friendly and give excellent service. Drinks in the bar are very reasonable, and food is good. I would definatelty stay there again since the room and beds are so comfortable.

Not a lot we didn't like. So really this part of the survey, is not needed for us. oh yeah there is warning signs about hot water taps, they are very hot..be careful.

The accommodation was small but comfortable. We were very pleased with the secure and accessible storage for our bikes.There was plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits available and some nice touches, like magazines to look at.

As no breakfast was provided, we had to go to a local cafe, but the two nearest were closed for breakfast service when we left - one because it was Monday, I believe.

Good location, good parking, pretty,quirky and quaint .Comfortable room and quiet. Hot water in bathroom .Plenty of tea/coffee, milk and biscuits! Welcoming staff.

Our room was chilly on arrival in afternoon and cold in the evening on 9/6/22 (the weather was sunny and warm).Radiator was not in use. The standard of bathroom, damp on walls as no extractor fan, the shower head was not clean and the plastic toilet seat was not fixed, doesn’t justify the price of the room. Small issues easy to sort out can spoil the review.

Lovely room decor, nice big shower, comfy bed, enjoyed cocktails downstairs.

The stairs were steep, and the emergency light above the door was annoying as I like a dark bedroom. The window was wedged open with a book. It would have been nice if there was the option of an ambient continental breakfast in the room, such as a croissant and a piece of fruit.

Very, very comfy bed. Great sized and clean room. The courtyard of the pub shut early so there was no excessive noise when it came to time to sleep. Great shower, good pressure and temperature.

No option for breakfast. Checkout time was on the early side. Room was next to the pub garden, so a bit noisy for an afternoon nap after a long time travelling from the Netherlands. No natural ventilation in the bathroom, so there was a bit of mould appearing.

Fantastic location, room was ready when we arrived in the morning. I expected a small room over a bar but we were led through a pretty courtyard into a spacious bedroom with large bathroom and sofa. There was plenty of tea,coffee and milk in the room and biscuits galore. Every effort had been made to make the room look and feel pretty and homely. There was a room outside with leather sofas, more beverages and magazines. Staff very nice and the bar was too. Hot shower and little toiletries included.

Perfect place for a short stay in .Malton. My friend and I were attending an evening wedding party at the cricket club. Very comfy beds, nice and quiet yet so central, right in the market Square with many eateries to chose from including chapter 2. Very friendly staff and atmosphere would recommend
