Town Hall Hotel - Shoreditch

Spacious apartment, perfect for our young son to play around in. Kitchen had everything you need - we were only there two nights but we even used the combined washer/dryer available to clean some of our clothes. Nice large bathroom and comfortable bed. Very nice a la carte breakfast that we ordered to our room each morning, which you can call for on the day (you don't need to request it the night before like in most hotels)

Slightly disappointed with the housekeeping which we didn't receive for our room, even though I left the sign in the door while we were out. Perhaps it was just the timing but would have expected anyway in a hotel like this. Only reason I'm not giving our stay 10/10

The bed was super comfy, facilities were good and room clean, staff attentive.

Down side plug on iron had cover missing/broken, in a very dangerous condition.

Subterranean pool. Air conditioned room with extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent breakfast. Daily housekeeping. Fridge and kitchenette in room. Beautiful place. Posh body products. Competent, friendly staff.

Sometimes the design of the place looked better than it performed. It was intense and dangerous getting into and out of the shower and we are able-bodied! Only a rain shower and you stand on a drain located directly beneath it. Water sprays all over the floor, loosening tiles. Stained rug in living room.

The hotel building, interiors and décor had a lot of character and you could feel the essence of the old city. At the same time, it had all the new amenities. Our rooms had really premium and funky appliances, and was very comfortable and spacious at the same time. You can also visit the townhall room within the building, next to the breakfast area. Really loved the interiors of the hotel. Also, the location was great, we were one stop away from Liverpool street.

Hotel is in a great location, fantastic staff and great rooms, with fully stocked kitchens if you want to cook. Spa smelt a little musky.

Only gave it 9/10 because they tried to add a “accommodation” service charge (bill slid under the door during the night before we left). This is discretionary NOT mandatory charge (which they also dont indicate). Very underhanded and something you see in countries like the US where minimum pay is so low.

Attractive building and spacious rooms. Everywhere was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We stayed for one night so didn’t use the kitchenette facilities but this could be a bonus if staying for any length of time. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee which is standard in any hotel.

There wasn’t much to dislike about this hotel but I do have a couple of observations. We had to pay £50 deposit on arrival even though the room had already been paid for. I can’t recall ever being asked to do this at any other hotel. We only had one bath towel and one hand towel for two people and I’m sure the hotel would have provided another if I had asked but at the point I realised I was dripping wet. I could not work out how to use the bath tap, the water system clanks away noisily and the bath didn’t drain properly so had to shower in a puddle of water. Breakfast wasn’t great value for £20.

The room was very stylish, clean and well equipped. Loved having a lounge area and separating doors, so we could have an extra bed for our son. The breakfast was fab, excellent quality and choice. Loved the mix of modern and retro decor!

No food available after 9pm and we arrived late, so had to order a delivery which didn't go well. It might have been me not ready the description correctly, but I was expecting a balcony, but got doors that slid open with no floor space to walk out, just a decorative guard to let air in.

Executive Studio was perfect. Great lighting, great kitchen and well stocked with toiletries. Comfy bed and ample storage and spacious. Breakfast was delivered on time and very nice and staff so nice.

The Corner Room restaurant was nice but food was basic i.e. I had a steak, came with chips and gravy and nothing else. Asked could I have some sauteed onions and told we don’t do onions! Or pepper sauce. Or some garnish of any sort. Asked waitress and she directed me to kitchen and to chef and he said he never heard of it but would consider it. Banter was good with waitress who was nice and attentive. The bar downstairs only opened Thurs . . . no draught beers and it was empty so we went further afield. The place could with proper signage within as you got lost easily and a large display/map at reception showing the layout and position of bar, restaurants etc would be a help.

We loved our stay at The Town Hall. The staff were all incredibly helpful, and the shared spaces so comfortable, clean and well designed. The pool was such a bonus and a beautiful spot. We are both breakfast and dinner at Elis and never had a disappointing dish - the breakfast is a must and dinner spectacular. The service at Elis was always warm and welcoming, which is notable as we have two small children. We absolutely loved having a full kitchen in our suite - with a washer/dryer, oven and a dishwasher.

The staff was very nice, specially the waitress! In general they are all very helpful and kind! The location was great for us and the area is full of parks and easy to reach the city centre.

Nothing, everything was very good. But, if it have to say something, is that the hotel needs some works, I guess they are in process as I saw some handyman around.
