The breakfast was excellent, plates were very hot which meant the food was kept really warm. They would always replace the food that had been finished, we enjoyed having breakfast everyday, lots of choices of food. It's central so close to Liverpool one, China town and Albert docs all walking distance. Mamasan restaurant is close by such a lovely restaurant to go too, we went twice. There are other restaurants close by in the town and Tesco and home bargains are walking distance from the hotel. The facilities are easy to access in the basement, the sauna is nice and hot and the pool nice and clean not to cold. Very friendly staff always willing to help. It was our first wedding anniversary and they upgraded our room to an executive room. They wrote a lovely card and left us some chocolates and two bottles of prosecco. We are very thankful, so kind of them to do that. Thank you Novotel we will be visiting again :)

The machine used for the hot chocolate was very pale didn't enjoy the hot chocolate.

All was good . Staff were friendly and a good ( but expensive) breakfast was available.

We chose this hotel because of the pool . This had breakdown problems during our stay so was only available for 50% of our time there . I realise the staff were not personally responsible for the breakdown but I will be requesting a small refund. We could have gone to a cheaper , similar hotel without a pool if we had imagined that this would have happened during this busy time or a “plan B “ was put in place in case of this situation occurring, ( as I believe it has happened quite often).

The hotel was clean and tidy and the location was absolutely fantastic. Next door to a secure car park and only a short walk to all the shops and restaurants.

The mattress was a bit on the firm side, so while not as comfortable as I’d hoped it was tolerable for just the one night. The pillows could definitely do with being replaced or upgraded though as they were thin, very flat and uncomfortable - even doubling them up didn’t make them any more comfortable. The bedding also had a quite an overpowering chemical smell to it which is either to do with what they are washed in or how they are stored.

The most amazing thing was the location , it was literally perfect , right at the centre of the city with everything around : bus terminal, Liverpool one shopping mall, all restaurants and bars. Another thing which was particularly enjoyable was that the staff were very nice , friendly and polite ( reception, security and cleaning staff ). Beds were comfortable and room size was ok.

The only downside is the hotel lift system. Although there are 3 lifts , during rush hour it's impossible to get to where you wanna go as the lift goes up and down depending who calls it and how close they are . Had to take the stairs for 9 floors a couple of times as this was annoying. Also during check in and check out hours the lobby is extremely packed , so I guess they should consider making the reception area bigger and recruiting a couple of more people . Even though the people who work there are very professional, they can only be as fast as humanly possible...

Love the location right in the city centre & love the pool! We’ve stayed here a few times now and we won’t stay anywhere else in Liverpool.

To say it’s a 4 star hotel, it’s very dirty, the cleanliness of the place is awful I would expect better from a 4 star and the price you pay to stay here.We were also told we could only book the pool once a day by one woman which we found bizarre because all the other members of staff had no problem with letting us go in whenever we wanted as long as we booked. You spend a lot of money staying at this hotel so you’d like to use the pool when you want too really. Luckily the other members of staff were fine with it. Apart from that it was fine!

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, its less than 5mins from the Liverpool 1.. We stayed here for my partner's birthday, staff were great it was also a mixture hotel as of family's and couples.. The breakfast was very presented also as I'm also gluten free they had gluten free bread, Pool was warm and also has a steam room both clean, our room had a lot of space.. was worth the money Would recommend for anyone wanting a break😊

The customer service at this hotel was second to none. From the moment I arrived both Lee and Jennifer were not just professional and helpful but really kind and friendly. I was very early and feeling a bit frazzled after dropping my dad in hospital locally. The took my luggage as my room wasn't ready so they settled me with a coffee in the dining room. They and their lovely colleague Jade were all exceptional before and after my husband arrived. Throughout our stay, they answered questions, made sure we had everything we needed and went beyond our expectations. It is very noticeable that this hotel is a little short on staff but not one of them complained, its very clear that they all 'muck in' keeping their customers at the forefront of their minds, often pre-empting their needs. I feel horizon scanning is a critical part of any role in business and particulalry important when working in the hospitality sector, the staff at this hotel are fabulous at this.

There is nothing I don't like about this hotel, from the housekeeping team who replaced our 'not working plug for the bath and brought us extra tea and coffee, to the lovely chef, dining room and bar staff at breakfast to the outstanding front of house, all was good. Yes the pool area changing area was a little messy but that was predominately down to guests and yes you need a time slot as the pool isn't huge and although it is a small pool, it is perfectly fine to swim in and having time slots makes this easier, the steam room was very welcomed after a stressful few days prior to arrival.

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Great shower. Dog friendly

We had dinner in the ropewalks restaurant Thursday 10 August 23 evening. When we walked in there was no one on the entrance, so we found ourselves a table. There were 3 members of staff talking on the very quiet bar. I had to ask for a menu and order at the bar, i had to ask that as well. It cost £29 for pizza fries and a Diet Coke, the pizza was drenched in balsamic vinegar which ruined it, but as no one came to ask if our food was okay we couldn’t offer feedback or ask for another pizza. Don’t recommend the restaurant.

We have booked this hotel on multiple occasions. The staff are very friendly, it is easily accessible and close to lots of amenities. We always find good deals and have access to the pool. Booking a space always means it isn’t too full when booking. Last time we went they had sweets on the counter for customers which was a nice quality touch. Again, the staff at reception were really nice and helpful which made it really nice as they were the first experience of the hotel stay.

I would suggest offering family bookings and couples bookings for the pool as sometimes couple want to be romantic when the families. The breakfast is really expensive, however having free child breakfast means we pay an equal price per person. Without children I think it would be really expensive.
