Crossbasket Castle

The staff at the castle were beyond amazing, they were friendly and genuine. The entire castle was gorgeous and the room and the bathroom were magnificent. My husband and I did the tasting menu at the restaurant and was a great way to try new foods. They even spread the word that we were on our honeymoon to all the staff. The staff then added a personalized congratulations on our desert plate which really topped off our experience. We would definitely return and do the full experience all over again.

I only wish I stayed more than one night. Everything was absolutely perfect.

The castle was booked for a 50th birthday and a surprise, it was perfect as soon as we drove onto the grounds and saw the breathtaking property and surrounding area we realised it was the best choice. It just got better and better we parked and walked along the tranquil setting to the entrance of the castle and received a warm welcome everything from that point was faultless quality and professionism, room was beautiful and spacious very luxurious, the food was superb too quality and portions were exceptional choice was brilliant, especially breakfast there was a huge amount to choose from,can't fault this place quite simply we didn't want to leave we will be back massive thanx to the team for a fabulous stay and all the effort, with a special thanks to the general manager surajit who was very helpful took time too chat and show us around can't thank everyone enough we will be back

There was nothing about this place that we didn't like apart from Maybe leisure facilities, however I believe there is a new development to rectify this

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal in the lounge and the walk around the castle--garden and river walk.

Although the weather had cooled down, it was still quite warm in our 3rd story room (27C, 81F). We asked for a fan which was delivered immediately, but the temperature in the room never cooled off to make it comfortable to sleep. Additionally, since we wore masks due to being immunocompromised, we would rather have fewer people in our room since no one wore a mask.

The room especially, the quietness generally, the hotel and the location. Staff are very friendly and polite.

The only problem with the breakfast was that the service was very slow. So for example, by the time the scrambled eggs arrived, the toast was stone cold. We also had to wait some time for the fruit juices to arrive. This was all puzzling because there were only two other couples seated at the time.

When we arrived we greeted by a lovely reception staff, who showed us around the castle and then on to our room which was lovely with beautiful views to the front of the castle. We were given a brief overview of the history of the castle, stunning. During our meal there was a harpist playing outside the dinning room, excellent.

We felt if there was form of entertainment throughout day?

I had heard of Crossbasket but hadn’t been previously. Did have a slight problem finding it however well worth the time it took. Lovely setting; beautiful room overlooking front garden area; staff very friendly and evening meal very nice. After a hearty breakfast we set off for home having enjoyed our overnight stay. Will certainly recommend to our friends.

Zilch - everything just perfect.

We were in the lodge which was amazing - we could live there full time!! We had lunch in the restaurant which was absolutely delicious.The breakfast was also very tasty and there were so many options to choose from. We leisurely ate and drank our way through it all. We would now like to go back and try the afternoon tea.

The only thing we agreed that we didn’t like was the pork and sage sausage 😫

We are just home after a few days stay at Crossbasket Castle. As soon as we entered through those magnificent gates we all had the most enjoyable time. We have 2 kids age 8 and 10 and they had a ball as well as our 6 month old lab, who was absolutey spoiled by all the staff. If you are looking for somewhere to take your dog & still have luxury, comfort & keep the kids happy this is the place for you. The staff are all so lovely. We would like to give a special mention & thank you to Rob the manager who went above & beyond for us. The grounds are just stunning. The food was excellent. Eating breakfast by the fountain was just perfect. Out cottage was equipped with a sauna, steam room & fantastic large hot tub. Ideal little mini private spa break really. The kids had a great time & we feel relaxed! We will definitely be back & recommending to all of our friends.

From the moment we were cheerfully greeted at the door, the welcoming smiling staff made our short stay such a memorable pleasure. Fabulous place. The good in the restaurant was excellent.

My only complaint was that I would prefer my poached eggs at breakfast not to still contain pieces of shell.

The hotel, the staff, the food and drink and service overall was exceptional. It was truly an exceptional stay and experience. The choice of drinks is extensive, albeit anybody choosing to stay there should note that the food and drinks whilst there are very expensive (which I expected before going so wasn't any shock).

Staff were excellent, but on one occasion, I had ordered a port (with our cheese board) and ended up with a whiskey (instead of the port). I could have sent it back, but as I liked the whiskey I chose to drink it and not bother with the port (since half of our cheese by this point had been eaten). That was the only thing I could fault.
