Fox Inn

Location is perfect just round the corner from the main high street . There's a pay and display just behind it and free after 6pm. Nice cosey little place, and its a pub as well, friendly atmosphere with good food. Breakfast was not an option. This might be a sickener for some but there are loads of places to have breakfast as you literally on the high street so wasn't a probem at all

This hotel is right in the centre of the town. Upon checking in i was greeted by some really friendly staff members who showed me to my room and told me what i needed to know. The room was clean and comfortable, and had all the facilities you need for a night away. I'm 6ft 4 and broad, but my single bed was big enough and comfortable enough for me. There is a bar downstairs which is big and stylish inside and out. They do food but only evening meals or a carvery I think. They don't do breakfast but just around the corner there is a lovely spot for breakfast called the badgers bistro. I would recommend going there. There is no guest private parking but there are plenty of parking options, car parks and street parking only a short walk away.

The shower is a little compact for a big lad like me, but maybe i shouldn't be so big and tall😅😅

The only drawback for us was the car park was a short walk from The Fox, we both have mobility problems. Once we got into The Fox we had no further problems. The bar was great, they were showing the football! The owner, Michael, and his staff were really friendly. Later on we were treated to an impromptu cabaret by a few of the locals which was great fun, best night we've had in a very long time. The room was clean and very comfortable. The shower was fabulous, with great water pressure. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided. I wish I'd asked what brand they were as my hair and skin feel amazing. If we're ever in Guisborough again we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

No tea/coffee/milk in the room despite it having a kettle and mugs.

We had lunch in the pub which was lovely.The room was compact but had all the facilities needed. When I checked in I was shown to my room which was a very nice touch.

It was a directly above the bar and noisy until the pub closed at midnight. Decor was a bit untidy,new light fixture but old one still in place.Toilet was noisy when flushed.No soap in the bathroom to wash hands with. Washed hair and went to use the conditioner to find it was shampoo as well.

Staff lovely clean room.shower leaked from under the head and toilet took ages to fill rge system so ended up filling system with kettel in general a lovely room. As always before leaving I strip bed and matress was very dirty.hidden by matress protector. Clean bedding clean room. Noise from pub at all. Good location for whitby and Scarborough Thanks x

Lovely inn, great food, lovely staff, great G&T! Room was lovely and clean! Perfect for the one night I had to stay over. Shower & sink in bedroom, shared lavatory, which was absolutely fine, don’t let it put you off staying. Lovely comfy bed and very clean xx there’s an overnight car park just around the corner so no worries about where to leave your car😀

The location was perfect for our little trip though the Yorkshire moors, nice cosy over the local pub room.

It would've been nice to have some breakfast at the Fox Inn so we could had carried on our trip straight away, instead we had to source a cafe for our breakfast. Our room was just above the pub entrance which means that we had to listen to the commotion of people leaving and entering the pub, also the fans from the air-condition we're a little noisy which interfere with our first few hours of sleep. (It's not a complaint, its just a reference we do understand/ accept that's how it is when you stay in a pub.) Eventually they switched off and we slept like logs.

Good comfortable bed and room. Clear information regarding the music so you knew what to expect up front, and even though you could hear the music it did not intrude.

The noise following flushing the loo or running the tap, could be startling at times and clearly happened in other rooms so all could hear. However it was not overly Intrusive, quite amusing due to the distinctness of the sound. Shower tray very slippy.

I liked that the hotel is a pub and you can relax in the bar before going up to your room. We have a dog and this is the first time we have taken him to a hotel. The hotel are very welcoming to dogs and our doggy had a lovely break with us because of this.

Was fine for what we needed - staff were nice, very dog-friendly, pub is pleasant, rooms quiet and comfy.

Pub seems to be missing a trick not making check-out time when it opens for brunch. Guisborough as a town doesn't seem very well set-up for overnight visitors - car parks all seem to be 2 hours max with no info about where to get long-stay parking. Ended up parking on residential road in outskirts.
