Croxdale Inn

Very welcoming at reception, found room to be clean, spacious and double bed very comfortable. Main road runs past our room and we didn't have any noise disturbance and had a great nights sleep. I enjoy leaving the car at home and this hotel is on a bus route between Durham and Bishop Auckland. The X21 bus goes through Durham to Chester le Street and Newcastle. Would have liked to dine at the adjoining Indian Restaurant but didn't get the opportunity on this occasion.

Hotel doesn't do breakfast. We either bought pastries back to the room for the next morning or took the early bus to Durham to breakfast at the Riverside Cafe or Wetherspoons.

The owner was super friendly and very accommodating, didn’t mind what time I came back as long as I was quiet and didn’t disturb anyone. The location was good as it had many busses that were accessible and a car park. Shower water pressure was good too, kettle and hair dryer in the room, towel and fresh shampoo and soaps too.

The restaurant was closed however this was due to it having work so I didn’t get a chance to try but everything was great!

Really enjoyed my stay here. Stayed just for one night with work and the manager made me feel incredibly welcome and even upgraded my room as a goodwill gesture. The room was clean and comfortable, and the attached Indian restaurant was lovely. Best food I’ve had in this area so far, was really pleased with it. Would definitely stay again.

Location is lacking local amenities like a late night shop/takeaways however if driving this isn’t a problem and as mentioned there is a lovely restaurant attached if you do need food.

Didn't have breakfast but the owner recommended The Cottage Cafe in Spennymoor which was excellent and really good value for money. The staff at the Croxdale Inn were extremely helpful and pleasant. Anthony is a valuable asset he is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We ate in the adjoining Indian restaurant and the food was excellent and staff extremely pleasant.

For the price we paid we wouldn't have expected anything better. There was nothing we didn't like.

I must admit I only booked for the night, but took everything with me , due to the price being so low I didn’t expect anything in my pre booked room, but with Bed being perfect with extra pillows if required, the Wi-Fi, the TV and numerous channels available, all shampoo,soap,towels etc, coffee and tea with milk along with a Kettle , also a hairdryer available !!!!, I have stayed in numerous hotels and this really fits the bill, on arrival I was approached by a smiling face who allotted my location and also stated if there anything I need. Brilliant.

Really good access to main road. Good access to Durham (15 minutes drive) Friendly, helpful staff. Really good Indian restaurant on site. Own key for 24 hr access.

Building appears a little 'tired'. Externally signs damaged and missing letters. Not a great first impression. Internally work appears to be ongoing. Housekeeping appeared to miss our room on 1 day so tea/coffee making supplies, toilet roll etc not replenished. Every time we came back late the external door was left unlocked. Made us worry a little about security.

the evening meal in the hotel restaurant was exceptional, Staff were extemely helpful and service was excellent.

maybe a minor point but ontly one pillow on each bed. More disappointingly it wasn't possible to book breakfast in the evening. This might have been made clear on the website of when we checked in. The hotel knew we were checking in around 6p.m so they could have asked us in advance if we wanted breakfast.

Room was a good size, it was clean, I felt there was a smell of cigarette smoke I mentioned it when we went down to the bar and the gentleman went up with a plug in air freshener and it certainly made a difference. Bed was really comfy. No breakfast

Excellent customer service, courteous courtesy,clean accommodation close to public transportation and public services! The staff really made the rating excellent as they were warm friendly & did everything to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyed! I am most grateful to them for helping me heat my food & providing a fridge in my hotel room! Excellent stay with excellent people at an excellent facility!

The bathroom had a slight smell likely due to the plumbing off gassing which disappeared when vents were turned on & working

Great location for Durham bus stop right outside 5 mins to Durham town centre / hotel was very clean warm comfortable /but most of all staff and owner were brilliant could do enough for us the bar was great / we did not dine in the restaurant but everyone we spoke to said it was very nice
