Oakhurst Gatwick B&B

Nestled in a strategic location, just a mere 10-minute drive from the bustling Gatwick Airport, stands this charming little hotel. From the moment we made our reservation, communication with the staff was seamless and friendly. We informed them of our late arrival and upon reaching the hotel around 3 in the morning, we were greeted with a fully prepared room that was clean, cosy and inviting. After a comfortable night's sleep, we eagerly awaited the hotel's traditional English breakfast. Это не разочаровало. The food was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious, especially the succulent sausages which we savored with every bite. Our stay was brief, as we were en route to London, but it was definitely one to remember. We felt well taken care of and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We highly recommend this gem of a hotel to anyone who happens to be in the area.

The owner was exceptionally helpful. We arrived early and he gave us a lift to the nearest bus stop for Crawley. We spent the day there and when we arrived back at the bus stop we did as he suggested and gave him a call. He came and picked us up and took us back. For strangers to the area this was very helpful indeed. We had a fair sized room with a double and two bunkbeds. It was warm and clean with a window front and rear. All perfectly adequate.

The owner suggested having an evening meal in a pub not far away which was within easy walking distance. As he had suggested, the food was good and not too costly. However, we walked back in the dark and there are no street lights. The walkway was muddy with lots of twigs strewn around so take a torch if you do the same. Obviously, this is not the fault of the venue but is intended as a tip for others.

very nice people couldn’t do enough to help you . they will take you and pick you up from the airport if you buy the breakfast (not too early and not after 9.30pm , which is very understandable) very good breakfast (very homely) I’m sure they would cook you something but they just bring you out a nice hot full English just after they’ve bought your tea which was lovely we came back after 9.30 so they gave us a number of a cab which were very quick just call them when you’re out of anything to declare and they’ll tell you where to meet them. it’s cash or card £15 (they have to pay £5 every time they go into the airport, so £15 was fine)

if I have to anything it would be you need too clean under the beds . But my husband would be very cross for me saying that as we would definitely stay again

John was a excellent host. Greeted us on arrival, showed us to our room. Told us to come down when we were ready where he gave us a cup of tea. Excellent location for family visit. Had a lovely meal at the Parson's Pig locally. We only stayed one night but the room was clean and had a good nights sleep. Breakfast next morning was lovely and served by a lovely and helpful lady. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

We stayed the night before attending a wedding at the Effingham, and the night after following the wedding reception. Ample parking, we requested a cooked breakfast option in advance - thank you for accommodating for the gluten free option on request also; sufficient facilities in terms of bed/ shower etc

Room though recently refurbished, perhaps a little smaller than expected for a two-person double, with a small double bed - but adequate for us. Nitpicking, but perhaps could have provided slightly larger/ newer towels

The bed was very comfortable and the mains and USB ports easily accessible. The full English breakfast was fine and the friendly atmosphere made our stay very enjoyable. The bathroom was very clean and well appointed and the printed information provided covered all our questions. The nearby local restaurant ‘The Parson’s Pig’ has an extensive menu and the food is delicious and fairly priced.

Great communication and we were able to check in after hours with very clear and easy instructions. Bed was very comfortable and the room was warm and spacious and bathroom was nice. Lots of parking space and we had a lovely view of the garden with the chickens outside! Had a later breakfast at 9am too.

My partner's only complaint was that there were no beans included in the breakfast... he'll survive.

John was excellent, very attentive and ready to help. Breakfast was great, freshly cooked and with many options. Family room was perfect for a good night sleep before travelling.

We arrived at night, and I found it difficult to find the right entrance. We ended up entering the neighbours’s property. I think an illuminated sign at the gate would solve the problem.

Very cute B&B close to Gatwick airport (about £15 taxi drive and less than 10 minutes). Owner was extremely nice and helpful. Very comfortable room and bed, recently renovated (room 8), very clean, fast wifi, tea/coffee in the room. Excellent English breakfast. Very good pub 5 minute walk for a nice dinner.

Warm welcome and cosy atmosphere. My son immediately clicked with John as they are both mad about cars so I was totally lost in their conversation. Also Bella, the beautiful german shephard dog makes the cosiness complete. There are 2/3 pin plug converters to borrow and a nice little take one/leave one mini-libraray upstairs. ....and lots of tea!!! Thanks again John, Mike
