Good location within easy walking distance of everything. Straightforward check-in at the pub underneath and easy to check out by just dropping off keys in box on the stairs.

Not enough flat surfaces in room or bathroom to put things down (toiletries, etc). Only one side of the bed had a bedside table - the other side had a chair which did not have a flat seat to put a glass of water on. No hooks or rail for towels in bathroom. One very annoying and squeaky bedspring. Only enough milk in the room for one cup of coffee each despite being booked in for 2 nights.

Unique but very tasteful red and gold decor with many wonderful paintings. We knew we were above a pub and so expected a little noise, but it wasn't much once the daylight had gone and the customers who were all very nice had gone inside. A completely different staircase, and entrance for residents. Good facilities in room and near to eating places as in city, if one wanted a breakfast. They also found a scarf I'd left. I 'd phoned missing something I then located and their housekeeper had found my scarf. As we had a few hours before the train we were able to collect it. Really lovely staff, very comfortable attractive room, good facilities- nice chaise longue as well! Easy shower. Good lighting.

Nice quaint room with lots of personal character (River Room), with modern shower room and toilet. Room was clean, and unlike other guests only heard a little talking, and post pub closing kicking out chatter.

It was on the second floor, in an old building, so staircase was a bit treacherous with luggage, as this was almost vertical. Could do with an extra bannister. The single bed was narrow, but ok for a night. Lighting was a bit dull in the room.

I don't remember stating a preference for a quiet room but it was fine. No noise from pub at all. Some noise from road outside but busy st, so to be expected. Great location. Very clean ensuite. Loved the quirky decor ( mirrors especially). Great location for sockets opposite mirror (essential for hair- drying purposes!) Great value for money ( Don't know if breakfast used to be included before pandemic?) Would be good to have a breakfast choice added..)

Would have appreciated slightly easier windows to open and shut. The room wasn't serviced during my stay which would have been nice but wasn't a major issue. Good to have separate entrance to rooms when required, but an access point TO the pub, without going outside and back in, would also be useful and would encourage you more to have a drink in the pub. I would also pull the bed ( i was in the racecourse room, no. 6) slightly away from the window, so the curtains didn't drape on the bed

Great location close to the train station and city centre. Very quirky and spacious rooms, the check-in and checkout process was easy. The manager was very nice. It's above a pub so a little bit of noise but only to a relatively early hour so no issue.

Only issue was it was on a main road which had loud revellers passing through at all hours, although this was a bank holiday weekend so not surprising.

Beautiful rooms, extremely clean. New telly with lots of channels. Perfect location for a city break. Friendly helpful staff. Onsuite was a good size, the shower was hot and easy to use. The pub was also clean, friendly and great atmosphere.

No breakfast facilities, but is close to eateries. Possibly not great if you need an early dart.

Very peaceful despite being above a sports bar,very clean and good value for money. Friendly and efficient welcome from the staff.

We requested single beds which were provided, but they were noticeably narrower than a standard adult single and very creaky. The mattresses were comfortable though.

Lovely room with quirky pictures. There was a iron, ironing board, hairdryer and fan in the wardrobe. All the rooms appear to be themed. Quite big for a single, Be warned you do have to climb stairs. Very handy for the railway station and on a main pedestrianised route into the centre. Would stay again.

The only issue was that the room overlooked the main street and it was quite noisy with passers by but not from customers in pub next door. Also room quite hot.

Quirky and unusual. Perfect location. Private front door to rooms (not via the pub) Brilliant value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Shower slow flowing however was really hot and required a longer shower. You can hear music til around midnight. But it didn't disturb us. And expected it due to location.

Great little place rite in the center. The rooms are very colourful yet really nice. Bed was super comfy, everything was spotlessly clean. There is a fan iron and hairdryer. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff they were great. Rooms are above a fab pub... huge inside, staff friendly and a plus the beer was extremely cheap.. Will definitely be booking again.
