Hyatt Regency Trinidad

As soon as I entered the hotel I felt welcomed. The staff are well trained in customer service omg the staff are extremely friendly every minute they ask you if you are okay. Further, the room was exceptional and very well cleaned and everyday by 9 am my room would be cleaned. OMG THE BREAKFAST!! where do I begin!! It was deliciousssssssssssss buffet style and you could do an all you can eat. The staff at the restaurant is superrrrr always on your beck and call to ask if you are okay and would always ask if we needed coffee, tea or juice which they would pour themselves. The room service was exceptional. This is the top hotel in Trinidad, money well spent, service on a THOUSAND!! If I don't stop typing now I will not stop lol.

Breakfast was exceptional, so was the front desk staff. The rooms was perfect and we appreciated having space for our little group where we could relax and spend time which was the purpose of the weekend. Most of the staff were very welcoming and lively. The bedding and mattress were a joy for sleep, which I have found to be your company's global standard.

The main issues arose with the regular menu, its pricey and doesn't have a very interesting offering, especially for the cost. Other local establishments have fabulous dishes, paying for a brand is no issue but I would at least like more than Chicken tenders and mediocre sandwiches. Additionally we went to the cafe and the attendant was rude, slow and unpleasant to deal with. She acted as if she were being bothered to make items we paid for and that she overall did not desire to be working, much less dealing with people. Overall the experience was 8/10 and I will return.

The room was in pristine condition, all in order, super clean linen, with all the pampering you expect from a high-end hotel. Views from upper floors are spectacular. I have traveled quite some times to Port of Spain, staying in other great hotels that are a bit secluded, but in the Hyatt Regency you get this impression of being more integrated to the city. In addition, seafront placement is definitely a plus, and the rooftop infinity swimming pool ... simply amazing. Staff are great, from reception, sushi bar, breakfast buffet, concierge all the way to cleaners. They are helpful, kind, they know their city and are a reliable source of information to move around. Everything in the hotel is pricey, but well worth it. Bars and the restaurant at the ground level are amazing. The sushi bar offers the best Japanese food in town, all ingredients are super fresh, top quality and delicious. I have been to quite an array of sushi restaurants all over Port of Spain, and nothing compares to this one. You can opt to eat indoors or at an otherworldly seafront (private) promenade/huge terrace, overlooking the waves and the ships that come and go. It is a great place to watch sunsets, stay for a chilled Prosecco glass or your favorite drink. I love sushi, and as it was so good, I didn't try the other options, but there are many other specialties. Breakfast buffet seems endless, staff is super friendly, they get to know you and call you by your name quickly. You get Trinidadian and international fare so nicely prepared by qualified chefs. Don't mind the high price of the breakfast, a brunch there in the weekend will leave you satisfied for most of the day. The swimming pool is great in weekends, with friendly staff in the pool bar, music (international, Caribbean and soca mingled), and nice drinks! It's like the place to see and to be seen in Port of Spain.

Staying at the Hyatt .. what made it really special for us, is that we both felt as if we were I. Another country... You guys transported us .. we live here, in Trinidad... BUT. you guys made us feel as if we were in another. Country.. this "stay"cation..naaahh! ..FULL 1000% "VACATION"...it was AMAZAAAZING...you guys deserve your reputation...I'll be frank ..you've spoiled us for everyone else . This will always be our be chmark hotel experience...enyone else...will have really, really big shoes to fill Staff... A million pluses ...

NOTHING... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...

The service was great. The staff were courteous and went above and beyond. It made our stay special and we cannot wait to return. Some of the staff that I have to mention are: in F&B: Angelique was friendly, accommodating and overall just awesome. Chef Mackenzie and his team made local dishes for breakfast that were delicious. Everyone we met from waiters, housekeepers, front desk were nice. I would be remiss not to mention: Natasha the housekeeper who was assigned to our room. Kyle the bartender. Shea at the front desk. Nathaniel a waiter at dinner and Melissa a waitress at breakfast, Just exceptional staff.

I did not like that the ambient music that was continuously being played did not include soca/calypso music. When expats, like myself and foreigners visit we want to experience the culture. The hotel feels generic, like any other beautiful hotel. It is missing the soul of the Island.

We enjoyed our stay but it was too short. The complementary breakfast was awesome. The staff were curtuous, friendly and professional. Room features I liked included: the safe for valuables in the chest of drawers below the TV, the two way lighting switch @ the front door and the side of the bed; the built in charging ports in the lamp stands on either side of the bed and finally the provision for making hot tea or coffee and for ironing clothing if needed.

Too few HD channels on the TV and limited space for used or wet towels.

No breakfast

Staff refused to accommodate a request for us to eat in the outside area with food from outside for my mom’s 78th birthday. The food there wasn’t great.

Well we love and appreciated everything reason being it was my mom birthday week she turn 58 years on Tuesday hence I decided to take she and my son ,my son now started Secondary and she was the one that took care of my son for 13years while I work so I call it a 34 years plus 13 years of devotion family is everything and I was happy to choose your property , which it give my mom a thankful get away and relaxing ,peaceful away from all the stress and everything else that surrounds us thanks very much we was delighted and the mission was completed. #gratitudeisamust

The only thing how it was my first time the booking arrangements was not clear such as how it works , Like the prices, what is the breakdown ,if you could pay cash etc

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The staff were exceptional, with first class customer service. The staff were polite, very friendly and attentive. The food was good quality with lots of choices. It’s a great hotel for family and it’s centrally located.

The property was spacious, very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel - it’s good value for money.

I usually visit for my birthday at the hotel every year, but I must say that this time, the staff made my birthday extra special. I received a coupon to get an appetizer which was delicious and the staff gave me a slice of cake. Dinner was delicious at the restaurant. The staff was well trained , friendly and informative. The whole experience was very welcoming and I enjoyed my stay.

I did not get a chance to go to the pool since the water was freezing. My kids were very disappointed. Also I paid for club access and the food was great however I would appreciate if chicken could be added to a menu for dinner especially. More finger foods should also be added. Ham and sausages are very common so I think this should be limited and other finger foods especially local, introduced would add to the ambiance of the club.
