Lanna Thaphae Hotel

We stayed 3 nights in the hotel. The hotel is located in a very good place. It’s directly on the East gate of the old town with the local, night and gate market (amazing street food at the South gate) in just 15mins walking! The employee are very kind and service minded. An earlier checkin was not possible, but you are able to leave your luggage at the reception. The rooms are tide and clean. You are provided with clean sheets, towels and water. Everything was working properly. When it’s quit in your own room, you could hear some sounds from the other rooms, but it didn’t bother us. We had breakfast included; you need to make a reservation the day/night before, as their restaurant is not big enough for all guests to be there at the same moment. Choice of scrambled egg or fried egg with some salad, sausage, orange juice, coffee/tea, water and toasts.

This hotel is placed in a very quiet location and at the same time, very close to everything. The hotel is quite new, having really comfy beds. The breakfast is good, having enough food to start the day.

The shower had very low flow and the ratio between cold and warm water was random. The breakfast had enough food, but without variety.

Nice little boutique motel very good value and friendly staff.

No pool or gym.

Awesome location-lots of great restaurants/coffee shops ( including Starbucks!) night markets /7-11’s within walking distance. If you venture out around & past old town tons to see & do. The staff are super sweet & friendly. Very helpful! We’d been travelling for 2 weeks so was a great place to settle longer and to venture out from. Waterfalls. elephants and other tours available and not too far. Our yucky clothes were laundered quickly & inexpensively.. ladies always took time to ask about your day. Definitely would stay here again.

As there’s lots of coffee shops & restaurants nearby, it’s not necessary to have breakfast included. But the ladies work hard to make sure your coffee is hot-food is fresh. The only minor thing is you only have 1choice ( western style) -we just prefer actual Thai food.

- The staff were great, they prioritised checking us in early and even offered us complimentary breakfast when we arrived early hours. They also did free photocopies of my passport for visas. - Modern, clean rooms with super comfy big bed and good air con. - Good location, close to Thaphae gate and the hotel is easily located for tours.

- Soundproofing was quite bad, you could hear everything through the walls which disturbed our sleep a lot. However, the hotel will call/knock on doors of guests who are excessively loud past 12am.

The room as a whole was very comfortable, the bed was great and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Many commented the the breakfast options are limited, and whilst they would be correct, but for my personal preference the daily eggs, two meats, toast, salad and fresh dragonfruit was perfect. We also arrived in Chiang Mai very early via a night bus, and the hotel staff kindly allowed us to store our bags at the hotel (I requested this long before our stay) whilst we could explore awaiting check-in. The location was also perfect, in a quiet back road, but still close enough to the Old City and the night markets.

The bathroom could have been a little bigger, and an extra pillow would have been great!

The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, clean and in a great location. It is near Chiang Mai’s old town. There are great cafes that are at a walkable distance. And there’s a night market very close by! My fiancé and I also really enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel manager and the staff. We truly believe their kindness and great customer service made our trip and stat even more enjoyable.

We loved everything!

I like the comfortable bed, and the location was just a short walk (~5mins) from the Main Street in the square (but it is located in an alley that is quite well-lit), and the tours that we booked were all able to come and pick us up though the location was just a short walk (1-2mins) from the tha page gate McDonald.

The temperature for the water could be more consistent, I kept having to adjust the water temperature throughout my shower.

Kind staff, quiet hotel, good location, comfy bed, nice for solo travel.

The room wasn't entirely clean when I arrived, there were still some crumbs left on the table from whoever was in the room before me. The TV registry said there were English news channels but there weren't any - none were big issues though!

Everything in the room was quite new and good quality, nothing really missing.

Weird that the exhaust fan is in the bedroom and linked to the main lights. So you can't have those lights on most of the time because the exhaust fan is too noisy. There are 2 bedside lamps and the entrance light so it wasn't really a problem.
