Mr Lobster's Secret Den Design Hostel

I work remotely so I choose accommodations on the basis of how comfortable they seem for me to sit around with my computer, how good I think the Internet connection will be, etc. I was surprised to find a place like this hostel, and for such as a price, as it almost feel like a free co-working space (comfortable, well lit, with views). In addition, it's located right in the city center (very close both to the train station and to a subway connection with Taoyuan airport), it's comfortable, it's good value for money, and the staff were all helpful and friendly. One of the best hostels I've been to in a long time, hands down. Very strongly recommended, especially if you are a person who needs to spend sometime working or doing anything with a computer (then it's just a no-brainer).

Really friendly staff, nice that they offered free toothbrush, i loved the common space with the fun variety of seating and huge window with view of the downtown. in the shared hostel rooms the beds have curtains for more privacy, i was on a top bunk that had a little window. there is a lamp and outlet in each bunk. they provide slippers for walking around the hostel

Room i stayed in was a tiny bit smelly because the bathroom was in there but that's ok because there's nothing they could have done about that anyway. Also maybe would have liked more shelves or hooks to put things in the bathroom when taking a shower (putting my toiletries or clothes so they don't get wet)

The staff is nice and careful, they gave me a lot of necessary information. The dorm is large and clean. The location is minute-away from Taipei Main station, so we can easily go to almost everywhere. Sharing area is large with full of needed equipment.

The hostel’s entrance is hard to find for the first time guest. I think the instruction to hotel should name the exit Y22 or Y19 specifically, because when i ask locals about Exit 22 (or 19) nobody knows that. Maybe it’s difficult for people first time come to Taipei like us.

The location is just perfect. Close to Main station but also Beimen, 7-11 nearby, snacks downstairs. I loved the common area, it’s very spacious and has great views as youre on a 9th floor. Free earplugs, free water to refill. The room was really spacious, enough room to put my stuff around and to walk around, I really liked that the bathroom was inside the female dorm too so you don’t have to go through any outside hallway to and from the shower - big plus, makes things so much easier!

It’s not the newest so don’t expect super modern new place, but honestly it has everything you need and is a great value for money.

Beds were comfy, for 8 beds you have 2 bathrooms inside the room with shower. There was a place to wash & hang your clothes, inside the room was a hairdryer, plastic bags, lockers. From the reception you can take a towels & eat plugs for free. Common area was very quiet during the weekdays and weekend.

Although you receive PDF instructions how to get there, entrance is not very easy to find, you have to go through the mall and take elevator inside. Luckily some people walking the street showed me back door.

Great facility, seems very much like a local hostel. Not the most modern, but comfortable, well maintained, and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good view from the common area/kitchen. Great location.

The sun film on the common area window has bubbles and wrinkles which distort the view a little.

There is a smell in the toilet, probably coming from the pipe or toilet. The hostel placed a diffuser there but not helping much. The smell not super offensive though. And I stayed in other rooms in this hostel before, the other rooms are totally fine.

Location was superb, although it is at exit Y19 so it is quite a distance from the subway. Beds were comfy. Common area was cosy and homely too. If you wish to shower after checking out, they charge you TWD150. It was great having 2 toilets in the room itself (Female dorm) as well as some outside at the common area to use if the ones in the room were occupied.

Toilets were a little rundown. But I'm ok with it for the price I paid.

heart of the city, just five-minute walk to Toayuan airport train, check-in and out very convenient, wall was quite thin but overall not too lound

the toilet for share room could be a bit cleaner, the deposit luggage are in open area which can be accessed by anyone

Perfect location. just few mins away from taipei airport station. walkable to night market and got plenty of restaurants and malls nearby. The 4 bed private dorm room is big enough for use, with clean bathroom and hanger for clothes. Not a super good price for a dorm room but nothing to complain.
