Swiss-Chalet Merlischachen - Romantik Schloss-Hotel am See

Oh WoW! This hotel is special ! Everything is superb! Staff very nice, they even had a toy ready for our dog, The room is beautiful, Breakfast was good, not many options but what was there was nice!

I am not lowering the score because everything was amazing but they are worth mentioning: The hotel does not have AC and it was super hot when we visited. I think this was an unusual heatwave and the area is not used to this. they do provide a fan but it's noisy and can't sleep with it! Our room the shower head was broken, and the shower head itself was on the floor. They were super nice and did offer us to change the room but we already unpacked everything and we didn't want to change. And I was hoping that they would just replace the shower head but that didn't happen.

Merlischachen is just a few stops from Luzerne trsin station and it's a beauty!!! We were upgraded to a room that had balcony overseeing the lake!!! The room was big, well maintained, the hotel had all the facilities.. the mini library with the coffee machine was a really cute corner!!! Surrounding area was worth seeing .. u can just walk around to reach the lake and also trek around!! I would definitely recommend!! We also got a very warm and welcoming reception by the hotel staffs before and during check-in

We had an excellent experience staying at the hotel, although the hotel is relatively a bit far from the city or attractions and it is required to arrive by train or car, the hotel itself compensates for this disadvantage, the hotel staff is friendly and welcoming, design with a special atmosphere, very good breakfast, private and comfortable beach, view Charming from the room, hard and high-quality mattresses for a good night's sleep.

The staff are extremely courteous, professional and efficient. Right from the time of check in - to check out, the process was smooth. We were welcomed, briefed about the facilities at the hotel....the mini bar was not only complimentary but restocked the next day!!! The library space is warm and wecloming. The lakeside area is well maintained. The Bistro in the park has a fun, family vibe to it. The Housekeeping team as well as the Restarurant staff were super. However, Paul is definitely an asset to the organisation and star performer. Keep it up!!!

Absolutely amazing good place with nice park beach on the lake. Very convenient location if you travel by car - just few minutes from Lucerne. Some people claim about absent of air conditioners - but we were there at the end of July - temperature was not more than 30 C during the day - and it was absolutely comfortable without AC with open windows.

Wonderful location and very hospitable staff. The hotel has a private beach area and a bistro by the lakeside. They give you a transport n museum voucher for the period of stay - you could ask the reception to email this to you in advance if you arrive by public transport.

The public transport connection is low. There is a train station at 6 min walk but the train runs every hour so be sure not to miss it!

Almost everything. Exceptional staff, beautiful and stylish common areas, a very good bed and bathroom, facilities, a private beach area, everything to spend the best time. P.S. we forgot the earrings in the robe and left. With the exceptional help from the staff the earrings were found. We are very thankful for that

The local church is quite nearby and they ring the bell every hour at night. No soundproof is enough to keep it silent. We woke up almost every hour.

The suite with the Jacuzzi is amazing and clean. Spacious and included Nespresso Coffeemaker also a few complimentary drinks in the minibar (2 Waters, 1 Beer, 1Coke). Quiet as it is facing the lake and therefore has an amazing view. over the Lake facing Rigi. The value was great as it was a free upgrade from booking.com. Otherwise, the price would have been a bit high. Check-in did a great job, as they asked if they can tell more about the room or if it was a surprise (which it was for my spouse). The floor Heating is really nice. Breakfast is across the road in the Swiss Chalet Restaurant and includes everything you need including fresh fruits, local products and fresh bread. Also got a small gift after check-out

Had to pay for parking although the whole parking lot was empty. They say that you get the cheapest price on their website but booking.com was way cheaper with the free room upgrade.

Quite big balcony but I updated to full lake view but we had house in our view. Bed big and good to sleep. Quite near Bank automat and shop. Lift for upper stairs. Free minibar things. Own beach to swimm.

No air conditioning. Cleaning not best, I found Hansaplast used under bed. Minibar was so warm that our strawberries went mold in 24 hours. One window system broken so it was hard to keep it closed. It felt that it is coming down to your arms.

The hotel vibe is great, our room really felt like a castle chamber. The reception staff was so accommodating - our dog even got his own blanket, bowl and a toy! Very nice people and beautiful surroundings- right at the lake. The hotel has direct access to the lake front.

It would be great to have better ventilation- it was very hot in the room and open blinds were not an option due to the room being on the groundfloor facing the parking.
