Hotel Kernen

The hotel is very well maintained and managed! Totally renovated and beautiful located in the Gstaad area. Parking for free. Opposite the train station of Schönried. The breakfast is absolutely good and some 5 star hotels can’t compete with!

The big pillow not really guarantees a good night. It looks nice, but too high/tall ..Maybe a second more compfy pillow would be good?

Hotel Kernen could do a master class in how to provide the perfect breakfast buffet - it was beyond fabulous. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The location was outside the centre of Gstaad which was a plus as it was peaceful but guests got a free pass on the train into Gstaad from Schönried station just behind the hotel.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

The evening meal was either a fixed menu with options or a la carte. The former was too much food for me and quite costly at CHF 50 but a single course a la care could be over CHF 40 - so I ended up eating dinner elsewhere

Old style mountain hotel fitted out with clever modern decor. Comfortable cosy bedrooms with modern bathroom facilities. Only 2 minutes walk from the railway station. High quality restaurant serving great breakfasts from 7am, and an excellent dinner menu.

There's nothing to not like!!

Everything top level and perfect. This chalet hotel - solidly built, nicely decorated - is a real 3 star jewel serving excellent food! The managing director, former downhill ski champion Bruno Kernen, is lovingly caring for his guests and together with his efficient staff creating a very pleasant atmosphere! We will be back.

Location is perfect to explore this wonderful mountain area. Breakfast was excellent, especially various local cheeses and different kinds of fresh fruit. Hotel restaurant is also great with many tasty dishes and extensive wine selection. Staff is super helpful, Swiss hospitality at its best.

The flip side of easily accessible location is that some rooms are close to the main street, so pick a south facing room if you prefer to sleep with an open window (otherwise it makes no difference since noise isolation of the windows is excellent).

The staff were all amazing, so positive, happy and helpful. The restaurant is incredible but busy so definitely consider booking a table before you arrive. The location is perfect the ski lift is in walking distance and the hotel is on the main road of the village with Gstaad and Sanen Moser nearby

Very clean place, friendly and caring owner, waiters accommodating every wish, superb breakfast (one of the best I had in CH), comfortable beds and nice simple interior.

The room with a view on the street was a bit noisy at night.

Very comfortable hotel. Rooms were nice, clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly. Breakfast had a great selection of local cheeses. The ski room was perfectly placed. Hotel right near the ski lift and train station. Dinner was great. In all, a great, comfortable hotel perfect for a ski trip.

beautiful, comfortable traditional Swiss hotel . The hotel staff are professional and very friendly. It is located heart of the wonderful Swiss mountains and ski opportunities.
