Hotel Stern Chur

The staff were efficient in all they did and responded to all my queries in a positive way e.g. no duvet. Special thanks to the Staff Member who printed off my return Boarding Pass (I have been refused point blank in some lesser Hotels). The little touches make all the difference, e.g. bottles of water & chocolates in the room (replenished each day). Breakfast from 0630 each morning is great and there was a good selection, with some hot food (scrambled eggs on request). Really good breakfast rolls! Around 10 minutes to Chur Station through the main shopping area. Quiet location. If you stay in room 314, beware of the two doors! This is truly a case of you get what you pay for.

I had a SMALL economy room, and yes it was small. However I did know that beforehand. The main lighting in the room was a bit subdued (needs a brighter bulb). Absolutely no other problems!!

Charming traditional hotel. Very convenient location for the train station and the old town. Lovely breakfast. Had an evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent as was the service.

The single room I was in was what I expected from the description but it really was small. I was only there for a night but I would have found it a bit too cramped if I'd be there for longer or in very warm weather but it did have everything you needed. There was a very thin mattress on top of the bed which kept slipping off if you moved - it wasn't uncomfortable but it was annoying.

The staff are very professional and efficient, and dealt with my queries/questions in such a manner. Given room in the Annexe to the main Hotel, which probably lent itself to a silent night. Good breakfast available from 0630 every morning (great for what I want to do). Did not eat in the Restaurant in the evening so cannot comment. Good location just outside the centre of the town, only 10 minutes from the Bahnhof. Will definetly come again!

I wished they had a computer/printer available for Guest use outside of the Reception, which would free up staff time (though they were happy to oblige and help). The Shower was a little tempremental, some days hot and other days just warm, but it wasn't really a great problem.

It was old in a good way, really authentic, super friendly and my room whilst compact (a single) was really comfortable and homely and full of nice little touches. I had absolutely everything I needed and the best nights sleep. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the breakfast choice vast. The restaurant in the evening was also a great experience with some really nice and welcoming touches. I’d definitely recommend this place and would love to stay again.

Can’t think of anything

We were completely blown away by this hotel! It's not overly luxurious or anything but it was like stepping back in time with the wooden interior and low ceilings and had such an authentic feel which we loved. The room had plenty of space and a nice view over the terrace. Location is perfect with a short walk to the station and so many options to eat in the old town. Couldn't recommend it high enough

Aircon in the rooms would have been handy but the fan was helpful

The staff was very kind and helpful. The building is really an outstanding example of mountain architecture. It is well located both for visiting Chur and getting to the Bernina Express station.

The pillows could have been comfier. But it was a very hot night, so that might have been it. It would be great if the keys included a fob to open the front door (but this is more of a recommendation than something I didn't like).

The room was clean and practical. The breakfast buffet is very simple but the offering for dinner is pretty great. Location is great. At walking distance from the train station and closer to the historical center.

The building is located next to a church. So the sound of the bells ringing is predictable, it may be a bit loud and intense.

The dinner was exceptional, brilliantly presented & tasty and the restaurant staff so helpful.

I had a single room on top floor with low beams (ouch, several times)! Few of the electrics worked properly, no bedside light & an intermittently operative fan. But the exceptional dinner more than made up.

Good hotel. Friendly staff, clean room. Central located in Chur, 10 minute walk from the railway station and situated at the start of the old city (Altstadt). Wifi was good, beds were perfect.

The hotel is an old house which has been renovated and keeps the spirit. Very good location - in the beginning of the old town and 5 min from the train station. Very kind and helpful stuff. I really enjoyed my stay and would come back!

Right next to the building there is a church which makes some noise but with the window closed it's ok.
