LOTTE City Hotel Mapo

Excellent location adjoining Gongdeok station and direct trains to the airport and the rest of the city. Excellent breakfast (buffet style) which they like you to pay for the night before. Large room and very comfortable bed, and a reasonable standard of facility. Location is near busy roads, but interior is quiet. A business-style hotel with functional design and few frills, but we were very happy with our choice and value for money. Recommended!

The staff's English is a bit limited but you'll get by. Swimming caps needed for the pool.

Gongdeok station is right under the hotel which also connected to the airport railroad line. There is also an elevator around the corner on the street which goes down to the subway, this was really useful when I had to take my luggage for the airport. Room was really spacious for one person and the bed was huge! The control panel next to the bed had light and aircon controls which was convenient. Didn't use the bathtub but appreciated that it was available, good water pressure in both shower heads and water heated up fast! A lovely room to come back to at the end of a long day. This was my first overseas trip and I'd love to stay at a Lotte hotel again based on my experience here!

When I arrived, found a hair in one of the side drawers. Coin laundry was a little hard to find for me, FYI washer and dryer are each 5000W, the machines accept 1000W bills or 500W coins. I didn't have much cash on me at the time so had to get a 10,000W note changed to coins but detergent also cost 500W so I wasn't able to use the dryer :( Like other reviewers mentioned, no power/charging outlets near bed.

The room is large enough with a big bed and desk, very useful when you have work to do. It’s just above the metro and a supermarket so easy access. The facilities (pool, coin laundry and gym) are good. Staff if good and all is clean.

From the 01.07.22 you have to pay 20,000w for using the pool. It’s way too expensive if you just want to swim and don’t want to spend the day at the pool - what you don’t when you visit a city. Because of this I would not stay again at this hotel, not having to pay extra was one of the reasons why I choose this hotel.

If you are looking for a place which is strategically well located to reach almost every interesting place in Seoul Lotte Mapo Hotel is probably for you. It is not really downtown but you can use the Metro which has a station next to the basement of the hotel. Especially the entertainment districts Hongdae and Itaewon are just a few minutes away by subway and you don't have to change lines. It has everything you want from a decent hotel. I would probably rate it a three star hotel. No super luxury but quite o.k. Shopping and restaurant arcade in the basement and the nearby metro station.

Room interior looked a bit dated. Last renovation should have been quite some time ago. There is a hotel pool but the fee is a hefty 20.000 Won per day. My opinion: not really worth it. The area around the hotel is a bit dull. Not really much to do and see.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Location is perfect. Close to 3 very useful subway lines that will get you anywhere you want basically. On top of that there is a small food market just walking distance from the hotel and other restaurants. Room was very cosy and clean, bed was very comfy. Shower had good stream of water. Room was being cleaned every day in very comfortable hours (around 1pm, which usually I left the room at this point) Overall very good experience.

Few things to consider - the window shade did not fully covered the window and there was a bit of light in the mornings. There is slight noise in the room because of the central location - but it wasn't a big deal. You can't open the windows so fresh air from the outside is not an option. Last and most annoying is the extra charge for the swimming pool - I swim regularly and one of the only reasons I chose this hotel was the pool - so it was a bit annoying that I had to pay extra 20k won for using it each time. With that said - the pool was clean and size was relatively big for a hotel (18 meters)

Convenient location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms

Would preferred early check in and late check out as our flight wasn’t till late. Please consider this for international guests especially for long staying guests ( we stayed 10 days).

Good business hotel in excellent position, just over metro station Gongdeok, with Direct access to the train to airport and just one stop from Central train station. At the basement of building there are some good restaurants as well as a supermarket, very convenient. Rooms are very comfortable and perfectly isolated from street noise. Comfortable bed, tea/coffee making facility refilled every day, good free wi fi. Concierge very efficient and ready to give every kind of info You need. On the 3rd floor there are some free sport facilities and a pretty good swimming pool, with a small extra fee. Back from a long bath, I liked to walk barefoot in the very soft and clean moquette all over the long corridor to the room! It’s a good place both for business and for tourism, just over one of the main metro hub of the town, a place definitely to come back.

The hotel does not appear to have a tradition of helping with guest's luggages..

The fact that it was as accessible on the Arex directly linking Incheon international with Seoul Station- above exit 2. However, exit 7 across the street makes it easier if you have a heavy suitcase as there are elevators/escalators to the Arex platform. These 2 exits should be expressly noted on the booking.com info as it’s a seller. There are so many eating places, a supermarket, a pharmacy on site or in the basement of the hotel. Nice bathroom.

I only received water on 2 of the days out of the 6 days I was there. Breakfast was expensive even with a small hotel discount.

Location: Direct access to the subway via the basement; which also had a lotte supermarket, couple of cafes and eateries. The subway had 3 lines, including the airport railroad line which made it very convenient to travel anywhere. The airport buses also do drop-off at the bus stop opposite the hotel. Room: Generally very clean and comfy. Room cleaning was done everyday as requested.

Value for money: Had to pay an extra 80,000won for less than 3 hours of early check-in, even though the rooms were already empty and ready. Toothbrush/toothpaste were also not provided and in order to use the pool, you had to pay extra (reason given was due to COVID-19 but i personally think we have passed the phase of such strict restrictions and it is not very reasonable to be charging such extras anymore, especially since the price per night for the room ain't exactly cheap either) Room layout: The room we got had a huge toilet space but in return, we had a much smaller room space. We didn't have enough space to lay open 2 luggages, which made it slightly inconvenient as we were consistently opening and closing our luggage to retrieve stuff.
