Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Namdaemun

The hotel is fantastically located. Most touristic attractions are within walking distance of the hotel, and the metro is just next to the hotel. I highlight the quality of the breakfast, which is superior. A lot of variety; international food but also delicious local plates, and the quality is great. It is definitely worth it to stay in a room on a high floor and looking to the city or the mountain. Other rooms are facing the building next to the hotel, not with a very nice view, so I suggest you always ask for those two options. It is a great hotel, and I will come back the next time I visit Seoul.

My only complaint is that I suggest extending a bit the breakfast hours. Some people like me are not going for business, but for vacation. The waitresses start pushing at 9:45, and are not flexible with the people who stay after 10. Hence, that bothered me because it happened a couple of times. Other than that, all was good.

I stayed with my family for ten days,, the hotel atmosphere was extremely calm and cosy. Outside the hotel were many cafes and there is a small grocery next by. The namdaemun walking market is across the road, the three Lotte malls were ten minutes walk. The mayengdong market and night market were 15 minutes away. The bed was comfortable and the ac was cold. The room was spacious and the room service was great. I just didn’t know how to get them to change our sheets every day. Apparently there were some card or something to place on the bed. The elevators were adequate. No real concierge to carry your luggage sometimes as we carried our own. Very excellent concierge service in terms of booking taxi. Very friendly and welcoming staff. They are used to all kind of people as the hotel accustom many nationalities. You really feel at ease staying there. It is clean and updated. There was a nice palace in front of the hotel. I guess some rooms had that view. But our was facing an office building which was a bit uncomfortable sometimes. But I have picked an extra large room which was larger than most other hotels in Seol so i guess I could compromise. There is always noises coming from the street but it was well isolated and didn’t disturb our sleep. The shower is very magnificent and powerful. We didn’t have breakfast there as it was beyond our budget but I ordered a room service and it was fulfilling. I wanted to try the momo cafe located in the hotel but didn’t get the chance unfortunately. I would recommend it and would stay there again definitely.

Hotel is in a great location. There is a large market right across the street, Namdaemun, with food, clothing etc. It's in a good central location which makes it easy to visit other neighborhoods. The hotel is immaculate. The bed is so comfortable. I had a room with a great city view. The hotel also had information about where to get a COVID PCR test post arrival in Seoul. At this time it is still required. Staff is so polite and efficient.

Convenient location, near one of Seoul's famous market (Namdaemun Market).near seol station also. Service was excellent. The room itself was really clean and its size was big. I recommend this hotel! 10/10!

It was overall a great experience. Service was excellent. Staffs were very friendly and nice. Staffs at the lobby and concierge could also speak english so it helped us a lot.

We found the hotel staff very responsive to any enquiries we sent before our stay, upon check in as we had missed the club room time, we were given a bottle of wine and a bag of snacks. We had booked a junior suite and the room exceeded our expectations, spacious, clean, well laid out and a great view of Namsam Tower. Breakfast was excellent with a large variety of choices and these were changed daily. The hotel has a self-serve laundry which was great as it allowed us to be able to do some washing. The location was excellent, across the street from Namdaemun Market and a 5-minute walk to Myeongdong and Seoul City Hall. There was also an excellent cafe right out front and a GS25 convenience store very close by. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here.

We had a standard American toilet in the room, but we would have preferred a Korean standard toilet.

First of all, i want to thank a male staff who was on night duty on the 10Dec (after 9 Dec midnight). My husband who suddenly fell sick and almost fainted in the toilet. The male staff on duty responded quickly to our request for an ambulance (it came within 10mins). We were grateful to him due we ended up didnt go to hospital.. throughout our stay, the staff around were all nice and friendly.. guided us on the best ways to get to the places we wanted to visit.. our room was always clean and the hotel location was very convenient. We will stay at this hotel again on our next Korea visit..

what i dont like is dont clean the room well they always forget to refill the coffee and water.

I like that the hotel was clean and very comfortable . I did like that they had a glass elevator and a lovely rain shower in the bathroom. Shopping areas like Myeoungdong and Namdaemun market were all walking distance. It was also very convenient to get to other places as well. The staff were very helpful with everything you need, they can order a ride for you if you need it throughout your stay , give you information of the nearest bus stop or train station and let you know what time somewhere open or closed .

It was very noisy at night time .

The hotel and rooms are all very modern and clean. Bed was comfortable and bathroom has hot water readily and strong water supply. Housekeeping does a good job everyday during our entire stay of 8 nights. Hotel is conveniently located and is less than 10-15 mins walk from Namdaemun, Myeongdong, airport express bus service (6001) and Seoul City Hall Station.

Only 2 coin operated washers and 2 dryers in the basement, not sufficient for the entire property and one of the dryers broke down during our stay. The dryer need to go through 2-3 full cycles of drying before the clothes can be fully dried even when you set it to Hot.

It's the second time we have stayed at the courtyard and definitely not the last. All staff are courteous and respectful, always had a smile on their face and make one experience a home away from home....I can not express my gratitude enough for the exceptional stay. From the concierge to the front desk to the housekeeping staff, all were amazing. Location is perfect, hotel amenities perfect, service perfect. Look forward to our next stay.
