Gyeongju GG Tourist Hotel

Being a 3 star tourist hotel, the GG is an excellent choice for quality, location and facilities, at pretty good value room rates. The GG is not a love hotel and is a good family hotel. The room aircon was effective and easy to use. The TV in the room offered CNN (channel 250) and BBC World News (channel 251).

Two small gripes, there was only a bedside cabinet at one side of the double bed, which was annoying, and also, having tried breakfast on the first morning, we decided it wasn't brilliant. One major gripe for me was that it only offered instant coffee. It was a nice option to have, but the low volume of customers limits choice and quality. On day ywo we got takeaway coffee and pastries from Paris Bagette next door!

The hotel is easy to locate and has sufficient parking. It is a short drive away from main tourist attractions and food places. The rooms and big and have all the necessary amenities. There are some local Korean food places within walking distance, which suits us fine. A couple of convenience stores next to it.

We got the Korean style double room because past reviews said that the mattress was comfortable. The mattress was actually very thin. So, beware.

The cleanliness, comfort level and size of the room. The bathroom - jacuzzi bathtub, rainwater shower and the smell of the shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. Lots of eateries and convenience stores within walking distance, there’s even a McDonald next to the hotel. The location of the hotel is within 5 mins from the Express Bus Station. The bus stop opposite the hotel can take us to all the major sights.

The service level and professionalism of the staff at the reception counter weren’t on par. It was a hit or miss depending on who served you. The lady who went out of her way to help with my temple stay was brilliant (forgotten to ask for her name, thanks). The guy who I asked to book a taxi for me just muttered something and walked away while I waited for more than 10 mins for a no-show. I had to ask another lady to help which she did.

First this place is perfectly situated. You next to bus stations ( express and inter city), next to the taxi station, walking distance from most attractions and the KTX train station is 15 mins away. The rooms were super comfortable and the staff was amazing.

The curb appeal is not there. From the outside it looks like an old empty office building and you are not even sure where the front door is located. However, the rooms are great and big. The staff is amazing and it’s perfectly located. Just book it!

We arrived at the bus station which is only a few short blocks from GG Hotel. It was very easy to get from the bus station to the hotel. We had a room on an upper floor with a nice view facing south. The mountains surrounding Gyeongju are lovely and we could see them well. The location is excellent! It is easy to visit the Shilla sites by walking from the hotel. There are also good coffee shops, restaurants and shops walking distance from the hotel. It's a very pleasant and convenient place to stay while in Gyeongju. The hotel also provides excellent tourist maps and other tourist information which is helpful. They also printed some plane tickets for us, which was very helpful!

There wasn't anything I didn't like. Gyeongju has a fascinating history and we were happy to be able to access the sites so easily from the hotel. No complaints.

The location is awesome. Our room was spacious including the bathroom. Bed was super bouncy and comfortable and I liked the lighting in the room as well, plenty of closet space/drawers included that we didn’t actually need.

The carpet was dirty so I’m really glad they provided disposable slippers. The sink and bathtub were a little rusty so we decided to just use the shower.

I liked how spacious my room was and how big the bed was. It was clean too.

I didn't like the mold/dirt on the spa bath. Mold is almost unavoidable in Korea, but if you are offering the facility and charging for it, then it would be nice if it was thoroughly clean. Also, why was there only a male sauna facility? There wasn't much to dislike about this hotel. This was the only thing I remember thinking about because I spotted it whilst showering.

I loved how spacious the room was. There was enough space for a little round table to have coffee in the morning, and a desk in the corner to be able to do some work during the day. The bathroom was clean and it had both a bathtub and a shower. There was a lot of closet space and drawer space. It was absolutely wonderful.

My room smelled a little like a wet rag, which I'm sure was only because they had just cleaned the room. But it was a little unsettling at first. Also, the rooms vary tremendously in sizes, so when I went to my family's rooms to check them out, I noticed it was substantially stuffier and all the amenities felt like they were squeezed into them.

Bus stop just right outside the hotel. Walking distance to many major attractions. Plenty of good restaurants around. Hotel not new but clean, spacious and comfortable. The best is the location as so easy to visit all the main sites including bulguksa temple using the bus. The bus stop to Sinyeongju ktx train station is also just right outside hotel.

Nothing

The room was surprisingly spacious. Very comfortable bed. We enjoyed the generous closet and drawer space, compared to other hotels. Very clean bathroom and overall amenities. The location was central, practical for busses (Intercity & Express) and within walking distance of food outlets, lovely restaurants and park (burial mounds).

The breakfast was underwhelming in terms of quality and range, not worth the price.
