Cape Diem Lodge

This hotel is stunning. The decor is beautiful, everything is so well thought out. Breakfast was delicious in a gorgeous setting overlooking the pool. The pool is great and a decent size with lots of space to chill. They also offer complimentary wine after 3.30 each day which is a lovely touch. What really sets this place apart is the staff. Bob the night manager is so friendly and attentive and all the staff we met and spoke to were so welcoming and friendly. The location is good and easy to get to the Waterfront.

A lovely place 10/15 minutes walk to the waterfront. We could book into our room early which was really helpful for our plans. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Lovely touches like complimentary wine in the afternoon and Whisky in the evening. The breakfast was delicious. The pool area clean and inviting. There was also the facility to leave bags while we were waiting for our airport check in. All in all cape Diem couldn’t have been more accommodating . Thank you very much

This small 7 bedroom boutique hotel has a feeling of calm and family home, but with luxury and consideration. The rooms are beautifully fitted and the staff are exceptional friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast included and areas to relax. The pool area is cleverly designed and I had a great massage booked in my room. Wonderful stay with my sister.

The building is a beautiful traditional old building so it does creek and noise travel between rooms, but it felt part of it's charm and lucky none of the guests were noisy. We weren't aware of there being anyone else there despite it being fully booked.

This is such a wonderful place! At Cape Diem Lodge we felt right at home, maybe it was the amazing staff, the gorgeous rooms or the comfortable and homey place itself – maybe it was all of it! The area is safe and the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The pool and (excellent) breakfast were benefits, too. We will definitely come back here next time we're in Capetown.

Absolutely no issues

I would highly recommend Cape Diem if you are staying in Cape Town. It's ideally located for walking to lots of bars and restaurants and short taxi hop to the V and A . It feels homely and personal and is a million miles away from a faceless hotel. Rooms are lovely, the outside pool area is great for relaxing and the staff are wonderful. Shout out to Ericah and Simon the night guy, he's your man for whatever you need. Hosts Bianca and Daniel are just lovely, the service from everyone was impeccable but unobtrusive. Bianca....a massive thankyou from me, Mary Bennett, for being so lovely and arranging my emergency dental appointment so quickly....I could have kissed you!

Nothing negative to report

Beautiful beautiful place, just a perfect little oasis in the city. The attention to detail and decor were just stunning. Breakfast was sensational, and our hosts couldn’t have been more attentive and helpful.

If I’m honest, I felt a little uncomfortable here in the sense that it was so quiet - I felt like we were the only guests in the hotel (which we weren’t) it’s not really a criticism of the hotel as such but I think worth mentioning if your looking for somewhere with a bit more atmosphere, here might not be the place for you.

The staff at Cape Diem were very welcoming and the setting for the lodge was wonderful and also very secure. The room was fitted with a lovely large bath and shower. The outdoor area was beautiful especially when it was sunny out!

The room we stayed in (queen) had the bed upstairs however the ceiling was slightly low and my partner had to crouch to get into bed. The walls were also fairly thin so in the morning we could hear lots of noises. Also the cooked breakfast could have perhaps had a few more options. But all in all it was great!

Beautiful house located in a beautiful neighborhood in Cape Town close to the waterfront. The staff was very friendly and they even had a house cat who loved cuddles! The breakfast was really tasty, with a variety of bread, cereal, fruits and cheeses and cold cuts. The bedrooms were very comfortable.

My room was located outside the main building and very exposed to the winds and rain we had in the first few days of our stay which made it all so noisy it was difficult to sleep. The AC in the room didn’t quite heat up the room properly and it felt quite cold.

Lovely, spacious and stylish, in a great location and with very friendly and accommodating staff.

The toilet door in the room didn’t really work, but I’m told that’s being fixed, and there was another right outside our room that we just used instead so it wasn’t a big deal.

beautiful little hotel in a very nice and quiet neighbourhood. the staff is super friendly and helpful. breakfast ist exceptional. the room was beautifully furnished and generous. one should note however, that the bathroom is not separated from the bedroom. thus the room I had is only suited for couples or solo travellers. also the room was rather poorly soundproofed. you could hear quite some noises and also the door was squeaking if it was windy. but this is a minor complaint to an otherwise fantastic place. would definitely recommend and will come again next time I visit Cape Town!
