AMOY by Far East Hospitality

Everything is excellent! Staff treated me like a long lost friend. Was not feeling well when I arrived late evening, and when I told the lady that checked me in ( Jolene) she had soup and bread delivered to my room within 15 minutes. And the next morning, the day person ( Adam) upon hearing that I had tummy issues, brought ..... on his own dime! ....some Gatorade drinks to me. This is over the top hospitality! Plus, room was cozy, clean, and perfect in every way. Location was great for exploring, as the MRT was just across the street. It doesn’t get any better!

There was not a single thing that I didn’t like.

The staff were wonderful - welcoming on check in and helpful when dealing with any questions. The hotel is well placed - it is really near to a MRT stop that can get you to the main tourist areas easily. It is also close to a large hawker centre for food and about a 5-10 minute walk to the historic chinatown area. Room was comfortable and most importantly the air conditioning worked well.

It is essentially on the edge of a business district so the very local area is a bit bland. However it is not hard to get to the other areas of Singapore on the MRT.

A Lovely Hotel which I roughly reccomend if you are a solo traveller, I stayed in a single room, which was small as per Asian standards but the design of the room was perfect and unique in it's self, not your standard hotel room design which you tend to find anywhere worldwide, which was a bonus. I like the design of the Bathroom and the shower is just right which is also easy to control. The area surrounding the hotel was quiet at night, so I had a good comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast is offered from two different restuarants nearby in which I reccomend Henri's, But the Hotel is also surrounded by lots of other food establishments so you have plenty of choice. The staff are kind and very knowledgeable, They also gave me a run through of the room facilties and how it works, which was very much appreciated. Transport wise, Telok Ayer MTR station is directly outside, one side of the Hotel, just across the road. If you would like to stay somewhere which is comfortable unique and a little different from what you get from the more famous run of the mill hotel chains, as mentioned I would recommend the Amoy Hotel.

A small thing but instructions on how to work the nespresso coffee machine would have been great, but it's easy enough to work out after a few minutes. :)

Really lovely, well-decorated room in a building full of history. A good size for one person. Generally great equipment and amenities. Breakfast can be had at one of two local establishments, both of which are worth trying - you are able to see the menus in advance via a QR code. Really friendly staff - a big shout out to Letitia and the team who greeted me with some excellent specialty tea on arrival, having had a really stressful journey.

The room came with one towel. It would have been useful to have a hand towel, as well, but I happened to bring my own towel so used this. Otherwise, can't really fault anything.

The hotel staff can't do enough to make your stay pleasant and are all very friendly and polite. The location is fabulous, right next to a square with bars and restaurants. There is a food court just around the corner where you can eat any local food you can imagine at great prices. There is a train station opposite where you can catch a train anywhere in the city, including Marina Bay. The fare to Marina Bay is 0.10 singapore cents. The hotel building is very interesting as in the past it was a temple. All in all, fabulous!

Amoy hotel is situated in what used to be a Chinese temple and you will notice this immediately upon arrival. The rooms are not particularly large, but they contain everything you could need in a very efficient layout. Location is also great, very close to many attractions and an MRT station can be found directly opposite of the hotel. The best part of the hotel is the staff; absolutely lovely and kind people that do their utmost to keep you happy. Finally, it was wonderful to have the option to go to two different restaurants for breakfast. Oh, and everything in the minibar was complementary, which was a nice touch.

Only downside was that the rooms can get very warm and the (quite noisy) airconditioning would have to stay on during the night to maintain a comfortable temperature.

Great location on the edge of chinatown and a few steps from the subway. Really lovely staff (especially Dolly) who were happy to check us in at 6am, show us the museum and estimate taxi costs. The entrance and museum are real, historic, and such a great feel arriving and ambiance being there. The room had some features to continue the feel of the history and was comfy overall. Includes two breakfast option literally steps outside. Try both, one is excellent.

Given the price another feature, probably a piece of art over the bed to extend the feel of the history of the entrance and museum would have been a finishing touch. Consider this an opportunity rather than complaint.

Our deluxe room was extremely well appointed and we particularly loved the fact it is a boutique hotel in a unique historical setting. Located in vibrant Chinatown and extremely easy access to anywhere with a MRT station across the road from the hotel. Our room came with breakfast that offered a choice of two great venues located a short distance from the hotel. More importantly the team of staff ( Letitia,Thomas, Jolene, Jay and Tinia - sorry if I missed anyone) were all very professional, warm and friendly at all times. It has been more than 25 years since we last visited Singapore and the team ensured we were well looked after during our entire stay. Looking forward to coming back to Singapore and staying at Amoy Hotel in the not too distant future. We would not hesitate to highly recommend Amoy Hotel! My stay at the AMOY was exceptional! The rooms were great, plenty of room with a fridge for cold water on the hot days. The staff was what really made my stay 5 star. Tina was wonderful and so helpful for everything that I needed. She is an excellent employee and should definitely be recognized for it. There was also a girl on the overnights when we arrived that I wasn't able to catch her name. She went above and beyond as well, helping us with luggage, showing us how to get to our rooms and explaining everything about the property. Several employees helped to call a cab when needed. You really do have the best staff around! Well done AMOY!

Location was great! 20mns walk to the Bay area. The entry to the hotel was like a museum. So beautiful and unique! Antique chairs dated from how many moons ago. A replica village and statues. The history of the building was on the wall. The receptionist explained to me that the building is the oldest in Singapore and they try to keep a lot of the original structure. Well done! Room was super clean. I got a welcome card, which always makes me smile. I loved how they did breakfast. Since they don't have a kitchen, they give you some sort of allowance at 2 restaurants near by. I chose the Henri Cafe. They had delicious and massive pastries, good coffee, delicious eggs, and fruits.

I did not like that the room in my booking.come picture was not what I got. I got a daybed. Not a bed. I also got a one room bedroom/bathroom, no separation. I don't want to look at the toilet at all times. Bothered me.
