Porto Domus Hotel

The room had a really nice perfume to it. Nice to get into. The staff were the best. All of them so polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the desk had enough space for my laptop and had the plugs nearby...so I can call it business hotel as well as holiday due to its fantastic location. They have own parking but there were plenty of parking spaces nearby.

The shower floor was flooding...not sure if it was just mine or all of them were like that...but a little uncomfortable to have a shower with all that water on the feet... They did not have an iron & iron board...the one they had was broken...apparently one customer broke it and they were waiting for a replacement. Perhaps next time...

The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and welcoming. We ended up booking city sightseeing tours through him. The location was great too. Within walking distance from the nearest metro station “Campo 24 de Agosto” as well as a short walk to “Rua de Santa Caterina”. The room we stayed in was fine - the only “inconvenience” was, being allocated in a room by the lift was a nightmare. Luckily we were out and about most of the day but once we got back to the hotel we could barely get any sleep because of the lift situation. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel for a short stay.

We liked the location, cleanliness, value for money. The staff was extremely helpful, they connected us to great travel agency for Douro river visit, they kept our luggage for over a week while we were travelling to Santiago, helped with other small details. Bathroom is great, clean, spacious, well equipped. Also the room, TV programmes, quiet neighbourhood. Hotel is also located close enough to the cathedral, Ponte Luis bridge and also the promenade and old city centre, obviously.

If I need to pick something then maybe the breakfast room is a bit small and beds are a bit hard, but nothing serious.

The hotel's staff upon arrival was very accommodating and informative. The complimentary 24 hr coffee station was a very nice.

The evening staff on the front desk was a bit unaccommodating. Having working in a hotel as a front desk manager for many years, please do not tell me you cannot provide wine glasses when you have a bar and that you cannot provide extra pillows. It felt as it the staff member just did not want to look for some as he came back in 5 minutes to say there were no extra ones.

room was perfect. very big and comfortable and has more than you need. amazing shower. friendly staff and hold bags if needed. taxis available. balcony a nice added unknown extra. always cleaned every day. good destination if your walking and close to airport or stadium if your over for the football.

had to take 2 elavtors to our room which were tiny and very cramped with bags. hallways are very old/dark and dull until you get into your room. hallways scream 1/2 star but room gives 4 star vibes and very nice.

Very clean throughout, lovely white sheets and towels. Good size bedroom and en-suite. There are lifts to the two towers. Halls etc had motion lights. Breakfast was extensive, eggs, cold platter, fruit, all cereals, yoghurt, bread, pastries etc. Alway well stocked no matter what time you arrived. Free black coffee and cake in foyer. Helpful and informed staff, with a range of languages. Store room for cases, bar although I didn’t use or see anyone do so, small area with Sofas and TV. Small corner shop across the road with a Continental, fast food and Metro 10 minutes walk away

Building work going on behind it, started 07.30. Hotel is surrounded by other buildings being renovated. Has no garden or vista.

Recently renovated hotel (both common areas and our room and bathroom were pretty new). Breakfast was great, with highlight for the homemade cakes which were prepared every day and made available at the reception also during the afternoon. Hotel staff were very thoughtful and kind. Good location, just in front of a supermarket, close to another bigger supermarket and to a metro station (3 or 4 blocks away).

We were in 3 adults in a room and the space was too tight for 3. The room would be perfectly suitable for 2 persons. The hotel has its paid parking lot, but since we didn't reserve it in advance there were no place left, so we had to park our car in an external parking lot, which was 3 long blocks away from the hotel (not that this bothered me, as we left our car at the parking lot during our entire stay and moved within Porto on foot, by metro and Uber).

Porto city is an exceptional town. Porto Domus is a centrally placed and topnotch hotel from which to explore it. My room was large, cool, clean, and undisturbed. The multi-lingual staff was friendly, helpful and hospitable. And the breakfast was extraordinary ( 6 types of cake, multitudes of fruit etc). I highly recommend The Porto Domus Hotel to anyone visiting central Porto.

All the equipe was very nice, eager to help by giving us restaurant recommendations, suggestions about the town. For the price quality, the hotel's location was in perfect place.

There was a need for a few repairs in the bathroom, yet they were not concerned with the hygiene. So, it would be better if they are fixed but does not change the quality of the trip much.

The hotel is located in a nice area, close to the city center and easily accessible by public transport. Plenty of space in the room and bathroom and everything was clean. The staff was very nice and friendly and the breakfast was very good, with several options for cold and hot food, as well as delicious (local) sweets.

The balcony door didn't close properly so the room was a bit noisy at night. A power outlet next to the bed would have been useful.
