Location is great, seaview rooms are worth it, basic accommodation with no frills Short walk to the sandy beach - 5-10mins max, beach below is pebbles, swimming pool is cold but seating around and bar is nice Friends said their rooms were loud as they were next to the bar and entertainment didn't finish til late but ours was on a high floor so fine. Excellent breakfast, didn't stay for lunch/dinner

The shower head leaked but they accepted the feedback and promised to fix it for the next guests when I informed them at check out

In my opinion this is a superior 3 star hotel very often available for a 2 star price. So when combined with value for money EasyJet flights from Gatwick it makes for a really fantastic low cost break in the sunshine. Just 3km from the airport so I walked each way. All the hotel staff I encountered combined professionalism and friendliness - a winning combination. I loved the buffet style breakfast. Relaxing by the pool was wonderful as was the close proximity to Machico and plenty of restaurants and a friendly sports bar. Twice I caught the bus to Funchal from a stop close to the hotel (3.35 euros each way).

My room was on the 10th floor and the wifi was dodgy. But fine downstairs. But is that really a problem? Not for me. Everything else was great.

Amazing location. The little town has all what you need. Many hiking trails right there. Plus a sand beach. So an active or a just-relax holiday would be good here. The hotel is clean comfortable and has Rooms with sun rise view. Staff are lovely.

Alarm for vegan and vegetarian: you dont have much here! No vegan corner. Very few vegetarian options and sometimes you have only potato and salad for dinner. And they dont even have vegan yogurt. Breakfast is always the same and got quite boring after 5 days and we had 9 days. No pancake or live cook. I expect a bit more from a 4 star hotel.

This hotel is very near to the airport, near very nice beach, a lot of free parking places nearby, nice town to have dinner or a walk, views were stunning

I didn't like the taxi driver the reception girl have called for us. It seemed it was her friend or so. We have chosen this hotel because we had very early home flight (6:00) and taxi driver took crazy price for a 5 min way to the airport. Additionally he complained that he had to wake up so early. Terrible taxi driver.

Location: property was close to the beach and restaurants in Machico. During the first week we moved by bus and it's also close to the bus stop; during the second week we hired a car and parking was easy enough. Staff were wonderful! Our room had a (side) sea view which was a great bonus. The pool area is also great.

Breakfast was very standard/ boring. The island offers so many varieties of fruit, but breakfast options were very limited. Every day was the same. Noise in the corridor as room doors shut close (no option for soft close) and the staff can be VERY noisy cleaning the rooms as well... on the floor you're staying and also above. Food on room service and pool bar were very basic and flavourless.

The hotel is conveniently located in close vicinity to the beach as well as the town centre. Yet, the area is very peaceful. The views from the hotel rooms, restaurant and the hotel's external transparent lifts are also magnificent. On top of that, the hotel boasts excellent good size swimming pool, which doesn't get too busy over the day and there are drinks and snacks served in the pool bar all day (expensive though!). Apart from the pool area there's a beautiful garden around the hotel, a lovely terrace and a spacious hotel lounge.

Our flight was delayed by 1 day as there were heavy winds and we couldn't fly. We sent an email and a message to the hotel to inform them about our late arrival but we never heard back, which doesn't seem to be a good practice. The breakfast was quite good but it was not varied at all - they served exactly the same dishes every day for the whole week. My husband is a vegetarian so he ended up eating mostly bread and cheese for all 7 days. We went to dinner once but it wasn't really tasty, definitely not worth the money, and one of the salads was off. As a result, we decided to eat out for the rest of the week. Finally, the air conditioning wasn't working properly although they fixed it for us - we were lucky the room was placed away from the sun and it wasn't too hot.

If you’re looking for a cool and trendy hotel in Madeira, then this is not it… BUT, if you are after somewhere fun, friendly, and relaxing (and affordable) then this is the perfect place! Although the decor is very dated (I’m sure would have been considered very stylish in the 70s when it was built), it is well maintained, clean, and is very comfortable. My room was huge and had a balcony with a lovely view of the sea as well as all the comforts you would expect (minibar fridge, nice tv, etc.). The lobby areas, restaurant, and piano bar are also well kept, and have comfy sofas. Staff are attentive and friendly and made me feel very welcome. In the evening I thought I’d go up and see what the entertainment was like, and I really enjoyed the traditional dancing! The karaoke was less to my taste but the atmosphere was good 😂 Breakfast was good, with a big selection, and a lovely panoramic view to enjoy from the restaurant seating area. I travelled to the hotel by hire car and I was able to park right outside the front entrance, though I think I was probably lucky as parking seemed to be in pretty limited supply.

For the price I find it hard to fault Dom Pedro Madeira. One detail that didn’t bother me but may bother people with lots of devices, there was only 1 plug in the whole room and it wasn’t very near the bedside table. But overall I was very impressed with my stay at Dom Pedro. For the price it is excellent.

Everything was excellent, starting from great breakfast every morning, with a big variety and different options to choose from (we stayed for 6 nights and each day we could eat something different), the room was spacious and comfortable with all the necessary things and a huge TV. Also we had a beautiful view on the Machico beach and the hills which was beautiful. Rooms were cleaned EVERY DAY which is something that truly amazed us. Hotel has many activities to offer and it's in great location for exploring the island.

The only thing which we didn't like is the very limited number of parking spots in front of the main entrance. We were never able to park here as it was always full (it holds only about 10 cars), however there are enough parking spots around the hotel on the street as well as on the nearby parking lot for free.

I like everything about the hotel, rich options of breakfast, nice view from the room, amazing pool, acceptable room.

The only thing I didn’t like about the room was that it was little bit smaller that it seems from the pictures and also the beds were just single not double. You can put them closer but it still will be just single bed. Also the AC was not working, we wanted to put more temperature and it was not working at all, but maybe in other rooms it was fine. They have just a few parking places in the hotel but about 50 metres from hotel is huge parking lot, public and for free. It is safe to keep the car there but it is not a hotel parking how they wrote on the page.

We liked the delicious and varied breakfast and dinner. The staff was very polite and the hotel was clean and comfortable. We also liked the pool, and the availability of umbrellas by the pool, because at the time we were there, despite the intermittent rains, the sun was blazing like crazy. Besides, you can always get clean towels at the reception, which you can use in the pool area and return to get clean and dry towels again later. Special thanks to the animators who created the mood in the hotel and the entertainment program.

I didn't like the fact that instead of a full blanket, there were blankets and sheets, and when we were leaving at checkout, we found out that we had a non-paid cocktail, although we paid for everything immediately and for the entire stay there was only one paid-at-once(!) cocktail. There must have been a mistake, but we didn't have time to deal with it. These are only a couple of small problems that we had, the rest was quite satisfactory.
