Excellent choice at breakfast

The shuttle bus service has ceased since Covid began and this means the opportunity for causal trips to Cascais no longer exist. Instead, UBER and Taxi rides are necessary to travel into and from Cascais which also adds to the costs associated with the stay. Difficult to find out prices as all menus are now only accessible with QR codes which creates a lack of transparency.

Set in lovely grounds with landscaped gardens and a golf course, the hotel was spacious with great sized bedrooms.

The location, although beautiful, was not within walking distance of restaurants etc and there wasn’t even a small shop on the premises where you could buy essentials like sun lotion etc.

brilliant for kids- kids club amazing as is the swimming pool and playground. excellent breakfast. really easy to get an Uber down town. my son loved the football coaching. the entertainment for kids in the evening was great!

no atmosphere in bar- would be so much better to have a pianist or some music. food in main restaurant very pricey at night (42.50 per adult for buffet) service could be better at pool area.

We loved that the property had many facilities for children: two trampolines, many pools, playgrounds. The rooms are clean and nice.

Slippery bathroom! Kids should be carefull, especially if it is wet, you can easily fall! Also the prices in the restaurants are just too high.

Kids club staff, especially those in dining room at night were very skilled and developed rapport quickly. The screening questionnaire comprehensive and security measures exceptional.

The fact that pool at kids club was not open and the distinct lack of shade, around it We were in a villa and neither enough seating on patio and none at all on the two balconies.

the breakfast is excellent. The playground is very good and suitable for slightly older kids too with the bouncy pillow and trampoline. The rooms are large and very well designed. The breakfast entertainment for little kids is really good to allow parents to sit and relax. The spa is lovely and amazing it has specific hours that kids can use it too (for €5 each).

All the outdoor pools are very cold so we couldn’t ever use them, even in the height of summer (the location is windy). The kids club has been moved to the basement with no windows. You’d have to be insane to leave your kids there with strangers when you can’t even see what’s going on. The kids club area cannot to be used by children and parents to enjoy together at any time. The kids buffet is really poor and cost us €100 euros for x3 of us. The hotel has VERY little vegetarian food and even less for kids and it’s all well overpriced. We mostly got Uber eats deliveries if staying at the hotel, as did most of the other guests.

Lovely setting, clean, and comfortable. The room was very spacious. It had a very large bathroom and a large-ish terrace overlooking the internal courtyard. The bed itself was a dream,possibly the most comfortable I've ever experienced. Breakfast was good, but became a little monotonous after a few days.

It's a little too far to walk from the town, so be prepared to get a lot of taxis. Service at the pool was a little hit and miss. On arrival, we were told it was closed, but when we took a walk in the garden, we were surprised to see lots of people there. There was a young child in the room next to us, I'm not sure if it had the loudest cry in the world or whether the soundproofing was poor. Either way, we were surprised by this since everything else about the room was so good.

Very high quality accommodation and amazing staff. Outstanding breakfasts!

Would recommend an upgrade to the driveways of the deluxe villas as gives a poor first impression. Children’s food is a bit too expensive. Would be great to have other sports facilities there (football, tennis etc).

We came with kids so we loved the families for kids which are Amazing. The outdoor playground and the kids club are beautiful, just a pity everything closes so early (5.30 kids club). As well as the pool could have been opened longer than 7 pm.

We had to wait for some time for everything. To get a table at the breakfast, during the dinner.. the the staff was not Up to 5star hotel service we are used to

We really enjoyed our stay at the Martinhal Cascais. The facilities, especially the ones for children were excellent. Our son really enjoyed the kids club and loves the fox he was given. He also loved playing football and bouncing on the trampolines. Breakfast was excellent and we loved being able to sit outside and eat in the sunshine.

In low season it would be good to have a bigger indoor pool as the spa pool was pretty busy and quite small once lots of kids are in it. The hotel asked in advance if we were celebrating something so we told them that indeed we were celebrating our son’s 5th birthday but nothing was actually made of it in the end which was a bit disappointing as I’d stupidly told my son something special might happen.
