Matejko Hotel

I really enjoyed my trip to Krakow. My room had 2 x single beds, comfortable enough. The room was clean and cleaned every day by staff. The staff in the reception was always professional and helpful, they was able to lend me an adaptor for my British three pronged plug (dont forget your adaptor). The local restaurants are super economical for high quality of food. The breakfast at the hotel had a good spread of food I would recommend taking the breakfast.

I didnt have anything negative to say about the hotel, the room met my expectations, the staff was professional and everything worked well in the room.

This is my second time at the Matejko Hotel, so I obviously liked it here. It is located in an excellent location, short walk to train, tram, Old City. You can also walk to the Jewish Quarter (30mins). Even though the street the hotel is situated on looks busy, it gets quiet at nighttime. The rooms are comfortable and a nice size. Everything is very clean. There is a big variety of food for breakfast: warm options (eggs, sausages), breads, cold cuts, sweet options, fruit, etc.

This wasn’t a big problem, but the decor is a little dated plus there is carpet in the room.

Of course - the location of the hotel. If you want to get to know Krakow's Old Town, the hotel is close to everything. If you want to buy something, a huge shopping center five minutes away on foot will satisfy all your expectations. The surroundings are full of food shops - everything is great. The breakfast is not luxurious, but of good quality and sufficient - a traditional breakfast for those who don't expect royal...

I wouldn't call it a complaint, but the room (maybe because it was a five-seater) was not surprising. But it didn't disappoint, because we didn't have very high expectations - it was important to have a place to lie down and take a shower. It was not the most comfortable to lie down in the quickly assembled beds, but I managed to get a good night's sleep - the bedding is cozy and clean, just like the whole room. The shower room is a bit outdated, but the water runs warm, the towels are clean - there is really nothing to worry about.

We booked a room with a double bed only (for us with our two small kids). Then we asked for an additional bed (with the thought the kids would sleep on it together) while completing the reservation.. On the spot, we were pleased to find the extra bed wanted. I noticed there was a double mattress so I thought it would be comfortable for the kids to still sleep separate, so I placed the one mattress on the floor. Little that we knew - next day as we came back home for the day, there was a second extra bed laying where I had placed the mattress. It was such a beautiful and thoughtful gesture 🙌❤️

Excellent location and near to station, trams, busses and shopping mall. Old town main market square was also less than a 5 minute walk away. Hotel was very quiet considering it was on the corner of two streets. Good value for money Staff were nice and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. A kettle and mugs were provided on request. Bed was comfortable, room was huge, well heated and cleaned to a high standard Breakfast was OK and staff were very accommodating with a late checkout. Despite the negatives, I would stay there again if in the area.

Woken up every morning by the cleaners trolley rattling past our room at 0650 Hotel was 100% no smoking but smoking was very much evident and the smell filtered through the bathroom fan and into our room. Curtains are not blackout so this could be an issue for some. Not the hotels fault but some guests were not very respectful of others and some noise could be heard late at night and even earlier than the cleaners wake up call

The hotel is perfectly situated. It's close to everything in the center of Kraków. I love their breakfasts as they offer variety of Polish food such as salads, cottage cheese with chives, Polish cakes etc.

The hotel is quite old. It wasn't my first stay so I was aware but still renovation would be a good idea. Also they could upgrade the standard by adding tea/coffee set, mini fridge and most importantly AC. This time I got room facing church nearby and was woken up by bells ringing all the time. Very annoying.

The staff were very accommodating in respect to not having to change rooms when my own plans changed. They were also very forthcoming when I was enquiring about moving about the town. The breakfast provisions compared very favourably with other hotels I have experienced, with ample variety of hot and cold food. As far as my room was concerned, for me, I considered myself fortunate to be on the side of the hotel opposite the Church whose bells not only struck the hour but then proceeded to chime out quite delightful tunes which varied with head=ch hour. There was nothing to dislike. I initially thought that not having a proper restaurant facility might be a drawback, but I found it encouraged me to do some discovering of other restaurants in the town which I might not otherwise have experienced.

Great location in a quite square just north of the Barbican but still only 5 to 10 minutes walk away. Lots of choice for bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel was clean and bed comfortable. Good Shower. Good choice for breakfast and staff replenished food quickly. Free big bottle of water in room. Hotel is a little dated but its perfect and reasonable for a few night's.

No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Provides bars of soap which are not necessary. So much must get wasted.

The room boasted a delightful simplicity and a welcoming ambiance. The breakfast was truly enjoyable, and the staff displayed exceptional friendliness and professionalism. The rooms were impeccably clean. All in all, it was a reasonably good hotel experience.

Unfortunately, there was a minor issue with a leaking toilet, and a room change wasn't feasible due to limited availability. Nonetheless, the well-insulated walls ensured that noise was not a disturbance.

Spacious, quiet, very clean room in the hotel with a fantastic location, very close to the city's Old Town. Very helpful staff, excellent, continental breakfast with plenty of choices and different cakes every day

Can't really fault the hotel or the staff on anything :) but an electric kettle with some tea and coffee and a safe in the room could be a good idea. Also, the complete lack of English speaking channels on tv can be off-putting for travellers from abroad...
