Comfort Hotel Xpress Tromsø

Excelent location, well comunicated with the airport, close to the city center and with many places around to have lunch/dinner/beer or to buy in a supermarket. The room size was a bit tigh to spend 6 days but good enough and very environmental friendly, you have what you need.

There is a policy of no cleaning the room and changing the towels/sheets with which we fully agree but as we spent more than 5 nights they cleaned the room one time. The bad part is that indeed they changed the towels but they didn´t cleaned the floor which from our perspective is more important that changing the towels and making the bed.

Location, location, location!! Close to everything: good restaurants (at Egon you get a 10% discount if you stay here), meeting points for aurora chasing, boat trips, harbour etc Clean and having almost everything you need: a minibar was missing from our room. Good price compared to other hotels but they don't have breakfast but a "to go" small package containing fruit yogurt, apple, juice which is extra charge. If you need breakfast you can go buy something at the supermarkets, at their sister hotel or to the caffees around. We prefered to buy from the supermarket around. The type of room that we had was very small at ground floor. The beds were very comfy. The air temp was ok in the room.

The fact that in 6 days, the cleaning staff never came to clean our room or take our garbage, even if on the bathroom was a message sticker saying that they clean every 4 days. It didn't happen! But in pur friends room next door they came. The checkin is automated, so I came a bit earlier and couldn't see anyone so I had to leave and come back half hour later as the system was not allowing me to check in before 3.

The check-in process online was good and quick. Also the automated self help system and paying went good and quick. Hotel is located near the city center and the bus stop from and to the airport is only 3 minutes walking from the hotel. Rooms are comfortable.

The connecting door to the room next to us was not very sound proof. We got a room for disabled people. The bathroom was big, but shower curtain was taken from the rail and made us shower with a bit more care. If the curtain is taken for a reason then leaf a floor wiper in the bathroom to clean it if the room is used by non-disabled people.

Very simple room but just what we needed! Comfortable bed and nice big shower with good pressure. No kettle in room but hot water available in the reception which was great. They also had a microwave in the reception, which would be good if you wanted to just heat something up! Great value and great location, central to everywhere we wanted to go. Close to bus stops or can order a taxi on a tablet in the reception so nice and easy. We were staying with friends so having tables to sit at in the lobby was great, we played a few games we brought with us in the evening! Nice and relaxed atmosphere 😁

The only improvement I would say is it would have been nice to have a small shelf in the bathroom and maybe in the shower to put wash bags, makeup bag and small things on. The sink has a bit of room but it got a bit cramped there. Not a deal breaker though and we still had a great time!

The Barception concept is great, you just pick what you want to eat or drink, pay and go. They pay attention to reduce plastic, waste. There is tourist information desk beside reception. Perfect location, nearby food shop and Alti shopping center, bus stop Fiskergata is just around the corner and bus 42 takes you to the airport for NOK 43 and only 3 stops. There is a place to put luggage on, but only for one item.

Rooms are as advertised: small. The double bed is I guess only 140 cm wide, Only small desk and one chair, the other person has to sit on the bed. No place to put things (like I don't use pillow - managed to stow it on the window sill), everything had to be kept in the luggage and no other area even on the floor to put a second suitcase, just bring one! At times, the room thermostat jumped to 22, but the room was already warm enough, had to keep window open all time - despite outside was -6 degrees.

Loved everything about this hotel and definitely going to come back! The facilities are amazing and took full advantage of the pool/gym/SPA area, which is wonderful and open long hours everyday, allowing a sport session early in the morning and an evening realxing moment after work in the pool or sauna which are super well equipped and clean. Rooms are great, spacious and you can find everything you might need. Our arrival has been particularly nice and got the warmest welcome from the amazing Evita at the reception - she has been super sweet to us and allowed an early check in, finding an alternative room since mine was not ready yet. Loved it - 10/10 to her! Kudos also to Aleksandra that welcomed us to the SPA area both nights of our stay and that has been an absolute pleasure to meet - super helpful, kind and smiley! The hotel staff definitely made the experience perfect, in a structure that already went beyond our expecations.

The Comfort Hotel Xpress is in an excellent location, within a 5/10 minute walk of everything you’d need including meeting points for excursions, museums and airport buses, and bars and restaurants. You’re about half an hour from the cathedral and further from the cable car but there are plenty of buses and taxis available if you don’t want to walk. The hotel was the cheapest I could find for the dates I was there and I felt it was excellent value. It’s modern, clean and comfortable.

Check-in was foreign to me! I had no idea how to activate the key, but fortunately there is always a member of staff on the cafe who can help. I felt the cafe was a bit overpriced for cold drinks, but there is a 7-Eleven about 2 mins away for that. I really missed having access to hot water and tea in the room. The cups of water at the cafe are tiny, though when I asked for two cups they obliged and only charged for the one tea bag. It’s just a little inconvenient to go downstairs every time you want a cuppa! But I understand why they do it!

The staff was really friendly and accommodating. The accessible room had enough space to turn around with a wheelchair and the bathroom was spacious. There was no shower chair, but it was provided by the staff upon request. The room temperature was good, despite the freezing temperatures outside. The location was also great with restaurants, supermarkets and the harbor nearby.

There wasn’t much to choose from in the self service food shelves at the reception of the hotel and it took some time for them to refill what was missing.

The room was comfortable indeed, so the name of the hotel is indeed fitting. There is a bar in the reception which is something I personally like, albeit you can find food in Tromsø everywhere - including just outside. You can do the registration in advance which in nice, too! I have really little to say: nice room, friendly staff, comfy bed and a good bathroom. Essentially this place look and feel the exact same as the Smart Hotel but with a different name - they are even very close.

The only thing I could complain is the price: I felt it was a bit high despite not being in peak season, as I was here at the end of October. Other than that it's a good place to stay without a doubt!

The layout of the room made the best of the small space. Really liked the underfloor heating in the shower. The communal area was comfortable and well populated. You could buy breakfast there or at the supermarket just around the corner. We preferred to go to the restaurant just around the corner. Everything was within walking distance. We caught the airport express to town but caught the regular bus back to the airport at 1/3 of the cost. We arrived early and could pay a bit more to check in early. We found the contactless checkin/out very easy.
