Shortland Court Motel

Great set up for a family! We each had our own room, good sized bathroom and everything we needed in the kitchenette. Thames was our home base for travel around the Coromandel and this location was ideal for that. Was nice to come home in the evenings to clean rooms and be well rested for the next days adventures.

It is located on the main road, so a bit of road noise. Also, there was some sort of siren that went off around 3 AM. Not the hotels fault, but we were unaware of what it was for (In Gisborne it means Tsunami, but we didn't see anyone evacuating!)

Everything was clean and well maintained. In addition, the housekeeping was such a nice surprise!

The photos used for advertising are really selling you short! My expectations were low given the photos, but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived! I suggest including more photos in the advertising. I didn’t even know about the front room until I arrived.

We came to re-energize for the new week but didn't realise that the whangamata beach hop was on, so was a bit noisy with traffic heading out but the roar of Harleys and v8s was really awesome. Vhuman and minimal Ricky baker was welcomed.

I didn't get to have a spa bath. I forgot to use my voice hahaha and ask where it was

My husband and I have stayed in a few motels lately. This was the most expensive but very comfortable the bed we had was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. We also loved the fact we could cook her if we wanted to.

The price we felt it was too expensive.

The host was friendly and helpful. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Motel was walking distance from Town centre.

Would have been good to have a single lounge chair while relaxing watching TV.

Location was fine, a short walk to the main street and to the wharf for fish and chips. Room size was good, and bed comfortable. Convenient to the Hauraki Rail Trail, and we could store our e-bikes in the room securely overnight. Very friendly and helpful hosts.

We arrived late but we were told where the key would be. A copy of my credit card receipt was on the table.

The weather - not their fault. We left at 5.30am as we could hear the wind and the rain getting worse due to cyclone Gabrielle.

It was comfortable, warm and had everything we needed. Was close to the town centre we could walk. The ow era were lovely and welcoming. Made sure we had we settled in.

Good location .. although when I booked I didn't realise it was on the Main Rd. I think it said Jellicoe Crescent? So consequently it was a bit noisy at night. But overall it was perfectly fine. We loved the cat that visited us on our last night. And great to have all the Sky Channels ... very good for sports lovers!

Bit noisy at night .... so had to close the windows on a rather hot evening. However a fan is provided so that helped a lot.

The elderly couple at the front desk were amazing. They really made our stay a lot of fun. Also the motel had a friendly cat who wanted to hang out so I rate this place really high.
