Clean tidy dorm (for 4), comfy bunks. Plenty of coat hooks, yay!! I liked the swipe card for door to the drom, and the lockers. Good bathroom facilities, good shower head! Really appreciated the storage room for luggage, I checked out then had a day to fill b4 my plane left. Excellent: airport bus timetable on noticeboard. Kitchen: excellent supply of tea towels and system for their use, including towel rails - 5✴️

Periodic cutlery count? Shortage of dinner forks and teaspoons. Supply of large cloths (Chux are good, dry quickly) for us to wipe down table top after eating, would be good. I had paper serviettes, but lots of guests left mess.

Check in was fast, friendly, and efficient. Parking is right next door, and getting the display permit was a breeze. The entire place is exceptionally clean. The rooms are fully carpeted and seem to be vacuumed each day. The room I was in, and the whole place, really, was very quiet. The room also had openable windows which was great to keep the air fresh. Each bed has power sockets, phone storage pouches that support your phone even with the charging cable plugged in. The bed was very comfortable, with fresh clean sheet, pillow case, and duvet, and was perfectly warm. The bunks creak a bit, but not much. The lockers are all together along the wall. Tall and a bit narrow, but still good. The staff are very helpful. The location is excellent, It's within easy walking distance of almost all the city attractions, bars, restaurants, etc. The bus network runs right outside, so catching a bus is a breeze. This is my go-to from now when visiting Christchurch.

There was an "event" in the area which caused traffic congestion and reduced the available parking, and the staff didn't seem to know what it was about. It would seem sensible to ensure that they know what the council is planning, and to tell people as soon as it's organised.

We booked the family room and it was 2 bunks and a very comfy double bed. It had an en-suite with shower, toilet and sink and the water pressure was good. A jug was provided and coffee cups etc. It also had 4 separate lockers in the room for travellers needing valuables stored. Everything was clean and there was a good kitchen and dining area to make use of. Next door there's a cafe called Child Sister that had fabulous food for breakfast. Well worth visiting. There is free off-street parking in some streets around the location but if you want to see your vehicle from the window the Wilson carpark is next to the building and costs $5 for 24 hours. Well worth the peace of mind.

The jug wasn't able to be filled in the room. We had to lug it up a flight of stairs and round a corridor and down the hall. But that was the ONLY complaint lol. So really a genuinely quality stay.

Straight forward information from staff member when I arrived. Helpful two staff at reception in the morning as I had injured arm from day before in Hamilton. I awoke too late for breakfast, I asked for closest place to eat and they gave me info of Cafe next door. So I went there. Plenty of comfy sitting areas in Lounge, quiet . Being first time to Chch and Urbanz it was good to know I could stay in Lounge or at outdoor tables until I was ready to catch bus to the airport. I will definitely book to stay again and let others know of how great Urbanz is.

i really enjoyed my stay at Urbanz! the hostel is really cute and clean which is so nice! the staff is super nice and the location is amazing! the hostel is right next to new regent street and so close to town! there are so many good facilities and common areas that you can use! the dorm rooms have lockers which is really nice and there are plenty of clean bathrooms and showers! the kitchen is also nice, however i didn't think there was enough appliances or kitchenware for the amount of people there.

the hostel is very big which is nice, however if you are a solo traveller, it makes it a lot more difficult to make friends as everyone seems to already have a group for the most part. the kitchen was nice, but there definitely wasn't enough appliances or kitchenware for the amount of people there.

Apparently I got an upgrade and stayed in an ensuite and could choose my own bed: a double bed just for myself. The ensuite adds to the experience as well. The bed was super comfortable, the staff was very helpful, the location is super close to everything and the WiFi worked very well.

The kitchen was dirty late at night, I know people are nasty, but I think it would help if you add another garbage bin & some more cups (there were only glasses in the morning).

It's a pretty new hostel in the center of Christchurch. Toilets, showers and the kitchen have been clean. WIFI was working proper. You get towels as well. It's possible to store your luggage if you come early/leave late. There is a small bar where you can get drinks and some snacks.

The price is still a little bit high, but i think for New Zealand it's one of the cheapest options. In the mornings it was getting already loud outside pretty early. Sometimes the reception was not staffed at lunchtime.

Great stay at Urbanz last night. I was finishing a contiki tour in Christchurch so booked a double room. I was really happy with the spacious room, bathrooms were just outside and showers. Was really quiet in the room considering I was in room 117 beside the door to the kitchen and hallway. Showers were powerful and warm, bathroom facilities good. Cheaper than a hotel but 4 star hotel standards! Would definitely stay again.

Only thing was the room was slightly cold but the heater provided helped heat it up in the evening after getting in.

Small yet comfy bed in a relatively small hostel. Lots of places to sit, to relax or to do some work. Wifi is excellent. Kitchen is big but there is limited space to cook (1 stove with 4 burners & 1 oven; there are also 3 infrared/ceramic burners). Some toasters and kettles. Plenty of space in the fridges and storage cubbies. It never feels crowded here. Location is excellent. Turanga (library) is around the corner, a perfect place to get work done. Supermarkets - Countdown, Pak 'n Save & New World - are a 15 to 20 min walk or you can go to any of the dairies nearby.

Bed is a bit small for 2 people (private room for 2 pax).

The beds were very comfortable, rooms.were clean. Lockers were large with shelves as well as space for luggage and that was a really plus. Bathrooms clean. Absolutely tonnes of downstairs/social space which was good as easy to find a corner to facetime and chill. Staff really nice.

Bathrooms could be bigger/have more showers although when I went I had no issue getting a loo or shower. There's only one thin pillow. Would be better to have two (or thicker one).I used my travel pillow so was all good.
