Hotel Chariot

It was a very clean room and the hotel bar and restaurant was terrific. Busy- very busy - on the Sat night we were there and I think it was from locals and not necessarily from the hotel. Have the homemade "onion soup". LOVELY!! They said they "had a shuttle" and so I had the shuttle pick us up from the airport. It was $22 and I did not find that out until later. But cheaper than a taxi. So we also shuttled back to airport when we headed home.

I searched Amsterdam hotels bc we were coming in to Amsterdam from a River Cruise. This hotel is NOT in Amsterdam and is really off the beaten path. If you want to do Amsterdam and Harlem, etc, this is a $30-40 (Euros which is currently equal to US dollars) Uber/Lyft away. Once in Amsterdam everything is train/bus/walk distance. This may be my mistake - I know now when booking to google distances.

Well maintained, large renovated rooms, very comfortable

Noisy, staff member talking very loudly on phone. Driver running shuttle bus engine outside my mother's room in early hours. Sounds of furniture being moved around.

The location with very convenient with easy access to the airport using the hotel shuttle (22 euros), there was a large, free parking lot that made it easy to drive and park. The restaurant and bar were very good. The front desk and restaurant staff and shuttle driver were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel if you need a place to park near the airport.

There was a some remodeling being done, and there was some noise from the workers and all of the equipment was left in front of our room. It would have been nice if the staff had given us a room that wasn't right in the middle of the area being remodeled.

From booking to reception to room to restaurant...top of the line. Hotel was easy to find, has a parking next to it, elevator and building are well maintained. Friendly and accomodating staff who have the guests interests at heart. Warm check-in and check-out with an authentic smile, very helpful with any questions you might have. The junior suite was spacious, calm as it was at the end of the hall, clean and comfortable. Large bed, combo of shower/bath, workdesk, couch and closet with extra blankets. The 3-course dinner and à la carte lunch in restaurant Centennial was delicious, well presented and worth the price (not over priced). Service was impecable. Reservation for dinner is recommended. Enjoyed our stay alot. Worth coming back.

Except for the remote of the tv that wasn't working well, all else was perfect. We didn't mind that at all.

We like the location as it is in a central position for cycling to the surrounding countryside, lakes and villages. On this basis we are not the usual type of guests who are often just in transit at Schiphol airport, via a shuttle bus and they would probably feel isolated. The nearest town/village Aalsmeer is about 3km away with stunning canal side homes/cafes and restaurants. The Chariot has plenty of free car parking, albeit in the open, which is shared with a sports centre to the rear of the hotel. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, in particular, the Receptionist. We often arrive early from Europoort and they go out of their way to provide our room within a few minutes. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel (Centennial) which we have used a few times but we prefer to eat out at local eateries/bars.

The second floor 'Executive Suites' are worth upgrading from the first floor 'Standard' rooms. Breakfast is generally themed around business traveller tastes. Otherwise nothing to dislike.

We had an overnight layover in Amsterdam and wanted to stay close to the airport that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Hotel Chariot fit the bill. Clean, quiet room in Aalsmeer, near Schipol. We didn’t have to venture far for dinner, choosing the hotel restaurant for their excellent 3-course fixed-price dinner, and it was very good. We opted not to get the breakfast at 20€ per person because we got KLM lounge privileges and could eat there.

Shortly before staying, we got a note from the property informing of a free airport pickup in the property’s shuttle, which we appreciated. It wasn’t made clear to us that we’d be charged for the return trip at 32 Euros until we checked out. Uber may have been cheaper; nonetheless, we appreciated the service.

The rooms are among the largest I found in Amsterdam. You are out of the city - about 15 minutes from Schipol. The property is next to a nightclub (the Beach) which might be loud on the weekends but was not when we were there. Although booking said we would need two rooms for the size of our party, the couch folded out into a bed, and we could have fit our 2 kids and us in the same deluxe room.

There was a lot of confusion when we booked two rooms. We booked it because the rooms were only supposed to hold 3, and we had four, so we requested two rooms together. They never could figure out how to manage it - and they struggled with getting their systems to cooperate. Also, note that the 16 Euro breakfast buffet does not include any special coffee (espresso, latte). This is unusual in our stays in the Netherlands. Even the chain hotels include it in the price.

The room itself was big enough, very clean, and with a comfortable bed. The window is very well isolated. One doesn’t hear anything from outside when it is closed. The bathroom is clean too and with enough amenities. (must have your own toothbrush and shaving though)

Nothing that I didn’t dislike. I and my wife both loved it. The only surprise was when I asked about a shuttle bus to come back to the airport and the hotel charged me 23 euros for this. Free ride to the hotel, but not the other way around. It is not a big deal, but I didn’t find any information about it priro booking, except the "free shuttle bus". Besides, there is not much around. If you plan to bring and leave your stuff and then eventually go to Amsterdam it may cost you. You need a taxi or shuttle bus to get back to Schiphol where you can take a train to Amsterdam Central. Therefore, when you decide to come to the hotel, make sure you have seen it enough unless you don’t mind spending extra.

The room was a lot more spacious and comfortable than I was expecting it to be. Fully equipped with everything you would need. The restaurant on-site is also delicious! Seemed to be in a cute and safe neighborhood, altho I didn't have the time to explore much.

Not SUPER close to the airport (about a 25 min drive with traffic / 12 min without traffic). The airport shuttle that the hotel provides is very convenient.

The shuttle that brought us to the hotel from the airport was very reliable and arrived on time. The driver was courteous. The staff at the hotel were professional and very helpful. They even lent us a euro adaptor for charging our phones. The breakfast was really good too. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The shower and bath were enjoyable.

The air conditioning malfunctioned in the early hours of the morning. So it was hot. But we reported it later in the morning after breakfast and I'm sure it will be fixed soon.
